Pretty good place for sitting at the tiki and looking out at the water. Bar stools are a bit high .. not very comfortable as you can't scoot up very close to the bar top. They didn't have just a filet of fish on the menu but offered to make whatever I wanted. I had blackened Yellowtail with a side of beans and rice. Fish was tender and flavorful so no complaints there. However, it was $31. Unbelievably overpriced even for the Keys. Great spot for a beverage but for that price I'll eat elsewhere. read more

This restaurant takes reservations which is AMAZING, because at 5:45 when we arrived we were promptly seated so we didn't miss the sunset, and this restaurant has incredible views of it. The outdoor beach area is very cool, and of the 4 restaurant sunsets we did this one was our favorite. The food and drinks were Delicious, and we can't wait to get back to the keys and go here again. Stopped in for lunch today at 1:40. The service was quite slow and it took about 15 minutes for someone to come over to get our drink order. When our server did come over she asked if were ready to order before she even took our drink order. I had to ask her if there were any specials.... but yes it was a coconut almond hogfish sandwich. Two of us ordered the special. One person ordered the mahi sandwich and one ordered the tuna sandwich. The mahi was the best thing. The Hogfish special was very good but lacked a sauce that paired well. The tuna sandwich was cooked all the way through.... which was a total disappointment. Although it was tasty.... it would have been even tastier seared. We ordered "well done" fries and they came out under cooked. I did love the view! I also loved that you got to choose a side. The Mac and cheese and the chips were great! We did order a souvenir glass and our server brought one that looked used and had a chip in the edge. Overall the food was good. The service is what took this down to 3 stars. The price is too high to have poor service. Our overall lunch took about 1:15 minutes.... way too long for a lunch stop. My iced tea glass sat empty most of the meal and I had to ask for it to be refilled. After dropping the food she never came back to check on us. Beautiful location right on the water. The restaurant is super unique in the location and setup. Located in Islamorada, we arrived around 7 pm on a Thursday. Many tables were open (end of the night place was busy), but as most of the tables are outside and it is summer in July, I can see why you would want to wait to eat until almost sunset. It was hooottt. There are unique swingset tables tho right on the water. Big tables that easily fit our table of five, and adds to the unique experience. Service was good. Drinks were better. The watermelon mojito and 88 relaxer were recommended and were tasty. Also provided is a nice basket of different breads, including an amazing focaccia like bread with tomato and olive pieces. Yum! For dinner I opted for the special: macadamia crusted hogfish and beans and rice. Fish was cooked well, and I could definitely taste the macadamia nut. Very crispy crust but tender fish. Everyone enjoyed their food, including my friend's lobster. We all were very happy with food, drinks, and atmosphere here. The regular patrons all were friendly as well. Great laid back and relaxed ambiance. The place is literally on the water and has a dock with various slips should you decide to come by boat. There was a man playing guitar and singing all different types of music, he made the ambiance of this place feel even better. We decided to have appetizers and had a crab cake, oysters and fried conch. The food was good and the oysters were really fresh. The conch sauce was some sort of wasabi based sauce and I felt it would be better for us to have it with cocktail sauce. We had piña coladas, mojito and a rum runner. The rum runner was not what I expected, tasted more like a frozen caprisun a little too watered down. The service was excellent and our waiter was always around whenever we needed something. His name was Keith and he was very friendly and was willing to make recommendations on the appetizers amd drinks. We will definitely be back to hopefully catch more sunsets in the near future! read more

HOW I WISH I READ REVIEWS PRIOR TO GOING HERE. So... when I was 17, my parents brought me here for my birthday, because we had coincidentally also been in the keys. My memories were that it was one of the best meals I had ever eaten. Fast forward 34 years, and I coincidentally am in the Keys with my 17 year old son who was also having his birthday. So, I thought let's go here, will be a great gift, and experience, and food. I told him he could order whatever he wanted... the results highly disappointing. So... we went at around sunset, and I will say that this is a very nice location to see the sunset. But, eating there? No, it was hands down some of the worst food I have ever eaten with the price tag it carries. Here is what we ordered and my/our opinion: 2 orders of coconut shimp $16x2 - These were ok, but other than the size of the shrimp, it was real hard not to tell that they didn't get dumped out of a box. 1 order of blue crab dip: $16 - meh... Cheeseburger in Paradise: $17 - This was for my youngest that doesn't like fish, but he said his fries were cold and the oil tasted old to me. Hogfish Grenobloise: $36 (My son's first order) - 5 Cheese Macaroni (side) - Exquisite writeup on the menu, but absolutely flavorless delivery and zero visual appeal. Onion Crusted Mahi Mahi: $30 (My son's second order) - again, sounds AMAZING on the menu... taste... a big meh! and was dry. Mahi Meuniere: $30 - zero taste, and dry fish. Caesar Salad: $12 - bowl of lettuce with hints of parmesan flavor... not worth it. 4 Manhattan's - $16 x 4 - These were good and I told the waitress were the only thing that kept me from raising an angry fuss at the crappy food. I grew up in Miami, and spent much of my life in the keys, I know fish should not taste fishy, but it should also be cooked to perfection with dressings that compliment it's texture and flavor... Nothing at our table really said, WOW, worth it. I expressed ALL of this to my waitress, who came back a few minutes later and said... Our general manager is not in today, so I cannot help you with your dissatisfaction of the food, but I was able to take off 2 of your drinks and give you a 10% discount - thinking back now on my final bill this may have even been tallied wrong. :| Here is his business card... Really?? I've called in three times since then to express my disappointment (June 10th-ish) and as recent as yesterday with Noooooo call back. Steven Zupko the GM apparently doesn't want to hear it. Given many of the other reviews here, and the 3.5 rating, which at this price point is honestly pathetic, it's not surprising. Wish I had paid more attention before going and I would have given Lorelei a shot - which I have heard is significantly better. Marker 88 is really just milking the view aspect, which is very lovely. But... regardless, it's criminal that they can charge this much for crap food. The food seems to be a side show and I assume they expect you will be wowed with the view. I've traveled all over the country and world and eaten in some of the finest restaurants on the planet, this one however, is only memorable for the bad experience. :( Out the door cost with tip was $210... My son said he would have rather gone jet skiing for two hours instead... Definitely not the memory I wanted him to have. We went there for drinks, food, "swinging tables" and sunset views but left disappointed The swings didn't work and I had to fix myself while waiting for a manager to come and survey the issue. Visit also sucked due to a TERRIBLE waitress. Food was good ( blackened and Fried mahi sammiches ) but heaven forbid you wanted to have a liquid diet of beers . They were all served slowly with a side of attitude. We tried. I'd recommend Sundowner and should've gone a little further to try Lorelei. read more

I swear the guy had the menu memorized. He also check on me numerous times without being invasive. After all I wanted to enjoy my food, have a few drinks, and look out onto the water in peace. Food: awesome, minus the hair. The calamari was great. It was calamari and small squids fried, duh, with a spicy/hot sauce that was just right. The ahí tuna burger was amazing! Once the hair was removed. Allegedly flash frozen and imported from Peru, ok cool. Seared on the outside juicy and flavorful on the inside. The sauce put it over the top. The key lime pie was ok. It was much sweeter than I wanted or expected. I was going for tart, but no. It was like a lime flavored flan with condensed milk. It was good but different. The perfect margarita was good but not my drink of choice. I quickly moved on to a trusty mojito, or 3. Whatever. The view amazing!! We came here for a late lunch, arriving around 2:45pm. Surprisingly the place was still busy. We didn't mind sitting in the sun so we were seated right away, but a spot in the shade would have been a twenty minute wait. We had a Island Tropical Salad and Onion Encrusted Mahi Mahi. The salad was nice and fresh. Had just enough coconut that I could tasted it, but it didn't take away from the other flavors. The Mahi was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. There was live music until 3pm which we enjoyed while it lasted. The atmosphere is great, lots of seating and spread out. This location is easy to get to from the highway and you can park and be seated quickly. I like all of the outdoor seating available with plenty of shade and fans to cool off. The food is great and the seafood options really stand out. The service here is very friendly and plentiful and they really go out of their way to make sure that you are taken care of. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We were sat in front of live music and got a great view of the sunset. However, after it got dark it was impossible to see each other at the table or the food itself! The food is great but the service is awful. The busboys did not know the name of the dishes on the menu, so they would serve your dish saying it was something else. The waitress took 10 minutes to bring salt & pepper and ketchup to our table. We ordered the fish sandwich which was supposed to come with an aioli. Not only was the aioli not present, but when we asked for it we had to wait an additional 10 minutes. We waited long for refills as well. Overall, it is a beautiful restaurant with potential if they fix their service. I understand they are going through a soft opening but for a restaurant with those prices, you expect better service! read more

The perfect spot to chill out have a bite and some drinks. The servers here are so sweet and happy. The cocktails are amazing. Would recommend their Piña colada it is the best I've tried in the keys this far. Their swings seats on the beach are my favorite. It's like your own personal picnic table on a swing! The view of the water is so tranquil even as a local I feel like I'm on vacation whenever I go here. Thankfully it's very dog friendly. The serves even provided water for our pup. Market 88's service was great, properly spaced out outdoor seating, the view of the water is absolutely outstanding. The food is fantastic too, so why the 2 stars? Unfortunately, they allow people to smoke at their tables, sure the tables are 6ft apart, but we couldn't eat as the party next to us had 3 people smoking, when we asked if that was acceptable, they said it's outdoors, which I fully understand, however, during COVID, where most if not all seating is outdoors, I personally think we should be able to enjoy our food without being fully engulfed by other people smoking. The reason I'm really upset is because the dinner menu and lunch menu prices are extremely different. And we arrived here at 320pm expecting lunch. And we were put on a 45 minute wait, not knowing that the menu switches to dinner at 4pm. I noticed approximately 10-12 tables available. But I didn't want any problems, so I didn't say anything. I asked to sit in the moving picnic tables by the water and they told me it was by reservation. At 4am on the dot we and every other party that was waiting gets the text that our tables are ready. All 10-12 tables that were empty due to "reservations" were now being used by the people they made wait 30-40 minutes so that we had to pay the dinner menu prices instead of lunch prices. I know they are going through renovations and constructions, but scamming your customers by making them wait till 4pm to pay for the dinner prices versus lunch prices is not a way to keep clientele. We obviously didn't fall into the trap and decided to leave when we saw how convienient it was for them to sit us in tables that were empty for 45 minutes and were told that they were for reservations only to notice that food prices were now double triple from the lunch menu. It's a shame because this place has a great view, nice tiki to hangout and have drinks. But I will never go back and every person I know that lives in the keys and in Miami that I know I will make sure they know about this experience. read more

The tap water is good... My husband and I made reservations for outdoor seating, upon arrival asked if we could sit down on the beach and they said yes! They then asked us to move about 10 minutes later to two high top tables that were pushed together with one chair on each side in the corner. We waited 30 minutes before getting waited on. We then got waters immediately and ordered our appetizer as we were getting super hungry. It took another 30 minutes before our waitress came back as she had so many tables. We finally ordered and our food was awful. The key lime Mahi was flavorless and the Mac and cheese was dry. The key lime seafood was overcooked and veiny and the sweet potato fries had no dipping sauce or salt. Our waitress was super kind to hustle and try to take care of us. Still feeling tropical over this amazing meal! Great drinks, seafood, gliding Tiffany colored picnic tables, attentive service, and sunset over a private beach. If you're looking for a perfect getaway for special dinner that's still close to home, Marker 88 is perfect. The Key Lime Martini was perfectly tart and creamy with a light graham cracker rim. The pina colada was good, too, but wasn't as smooth. The Key lime Seafood Dish was outstanding with Lobster, shrimp and crab sautéed in keylime-tabasco butter served on a bed of cilantro rice. A bit greasy, but full of flavor, and we were warned by our server in advance that it was rich. I loved it! The onion encrusted mahi-mahi was moist and delicious but the crust was more soggy than Id hoped. The flavors were good though, nutty and mild. Even the bread was mentionable. Warm and chewy sour dough squares and cheesy bombs that I wanted more of, served with herbed olive oil. For the sides we had perfect sweet potato fries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the 5 cheese mac. It needed more cheese, because the only pasta that had any was right in the center on the bottom, but when you got a bite of cheese, it hit the comfort food spot. We tried two beers and both were local and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive from our waiter, to the bus boys and even the manager that came by to present plates. The setting cant be beat with a gorgeous private beach and a spectacular front row seat to a stunning sunset. We'll be back! read more

Love this spot !!! Love how you can relax in the beach even though it is a small space- and have the restaurant right there. There's a few things to do on the beach such as paddle board & kayak. Beach seems to be pet friendly. Only down fall which is a big one is, no coolers allowed. I have a baby so that's kind of an inconvenience. Good food & drinks tho. Very chill atmosphere & family friendly. Totally recommend !!! read more
