WORST doctor on earth. WRONG diagnosis. WRONG prescription. Incompetent, and unqualified. MALPRACTICE. For his negligent treatment, he should be stripped of licence and stop causing other patients to suffer.
I visited the doctor for exacerbated bronchitis and asthmatic symptoms.
I was on time.
45 mins to fill out pages of forms, asking about family history etc.
Waited another 10 mins.
The actual doctor's visit: 2 mins. TWO minutes.
He took 15 seconds to listen to my lungs, diagnosed i am not asthmatic, then when I asked what else i could do to help with this chronic cough and sleepless nights, he threw his hands in the air . He replied, "I DON'T KNOW!".
He is a pulmonary and sleep disorder SPECIALIST.
Well, his diagnosis is WRONG. FOUR, not one but FOUR other doctors have diagnosed me as asthmatic.
Prior to seeing him, I visited with two online doctors. Both prescribed asthmatic control drugs to help me with my asthma.
They told me to see a pulmonary doctor to have my lungs listened to.
Dr Mark. listened and told me my lungs are NOT wheezing - WRONG.
He advised me to STOP all my asthma medication - which I followed - except to stay on 2 of the drugs i was currently taking. I was on Advair 250 and Qvar 80mcg.
He sent me to get a Chest X ray and to see an allergist. Until the appointment with the allergist, I waited for my mail-in medication of his prescription which was supposed to take 3-5 days to arrive.
The medication took 2 weeks. And they were the WRONG STRENGTH!
I called my pharmacist and they checked and reported Dr Mark's office took FIVE days to send in the prescription. That slowed down the filling of the prescription. Now the drugs arrived, but they were the wrong strength.
Instead of Advair 250, i received Advair 45. Instead of QVAR 80mcg, I received 40mcg.
I called my pharmacist and told them they had filled and sent me the wrong drugs. They checked and said the doctor office had instructed this prescription. They asked me to check with Dr Mark.
I called Dr Mark's office. His staff explained the doctor merely sent instructions to "refill" my drugs which were on my file. I was bewildered. I had never taken drugs that strength. I have been on Advair 250 for many years. I had never been on Advair 45. That low dosage sounds like for kids? The staff advised i call my pharmacist.
I called back pharmacy for the second time. The pharmacist explained that Dr Mark had NOT requested for a "refill". This was a fax of a brand new prescription. It is apparent that the Doctor has sent a prescription that is INCORRECT.
I called Dr Mark office for the second time. The staff could not explain why but kept insisting my pharmacy made a mistake. They then offered to call back later to check again with the doctor.
After much waiting, they finally called back. The staff then said the doctor will write a prescription of the dosage i usually take.
Oh great. What about this current one that the pharmacy has billed me $80 for? "You can just return for a refund", she advised. I was flabbergasted. You do not return drugs. It is illegal. And no pharmacy will take a return. I stated that this is very clear the doctor made a mistake. One of the drugs was on my file and he should have known when writing the prescription. The other drug, since this is my first visit with him, he should have check what strength i take. He could have called if he had forgotten to ask me in his hasty 2 min consultation to dismiss me. Instead, he made a wrong assumption and wrote a arbitrary prescription that does not help me.
At this point, i asked the staff, Maria, if they would please reimburse me for these drugs that i cannot use and cannot return. She scoffed and said they never do that. Well, i never in my life had a WRONG prescription given by a doctor. It is wrong for them to expect me to pick up the tab for a mistake that the doctor made.
She then put me on hold. She came back and said, "Doctor say go ahead and take the current prescription until you see the allergist and we'll see what the allergist say".
I could not believe my ears!!!!!!!! This is obtuse and stupid idea - he is instructing me to take the wrong drugs?!
She then threatened to hang up.
Meanwhile, while waiting for my appointment with the allergist, my symptoms got from bad to worse ( i stopped all my medication because Dr Mark had advised me to stop since he said I was not asthmatic). I was coughing so bad that i had to go to Urgent Care.
The Urgent Care doctor, Dr Ngyuen, at Pacific Urgent Care listened to my lungs and confirmed I was wheezing and I was asthmatic. He put me back on all the medication that Dr Mark made made me stop.
Following that week, I saw the allergist. He too confirmed my lungs was wheezing and I was definitely asthmatic. I was told to continue the drugs I was taking (all the ones Dr Mark instructed me to stop).
