I had my wisdom teeth pulled through Dr Elders office and everything was great. His staff very friendly.

Back in 2016 I had a wisdom tooth removed with local because of some pain. At the time, the office wasted time trying to get my obgyn to approve general anesthesic...which was never going to happen. All the while, I'm in agonizing pain, 10 weeks pregnant, unable to sleep, working full time. I was so glad when they called me and it got removed. It was fine, I did not feel anything and got frustrated so much time was wasted to get a clearance for general when it was not needed. Fast forward to 2017, wisdom tooth pain started in December around Christmas, the pain was worst than the first time, my original dentist was out through January 8th, so I go back to Vallejo ortho, thinking surely they will have mercy and consider my pain levels and not try to press my dr for an unnecessary general again. Why I thought this time would be different? I chalk it up to my pain and sleep deprivation. I get booked for a consultation and same day surgery, which turned to only be a consultation! Ummm, that's not what was discussed but they claim they needed clearance because I was pregnant this time also, I get it but why not say so over the phone? Any ways the surgeon tells me he can't remove that tooth without general. But someone in your practice has done it before...what's different today? You want to make more money? I feel that was the case, he also says I should "push" my dr to clear me for general because if my leg was broken they would have to do it anyways. Greed! Pure greed! I left frustrated but just wanting the pain to be over with so I waited for a call...and I heard nothing for two weeks. Thank god my dentist gave me antibiotics that cleared the pain. When I did get a call from Vallejo ortho, I was told the co-pay and I went to my appointment. Got there and the copay was 40 dollars higher than what I was told. I lied and said I did t have it and left. Will not be going back to these greed buckets again. read more

I agree with everything Rockie B. said in his review. I went in for a very similar procedure, I had my lower left wisdom tooth extracted. I was referred by Doctor Joy Rose Endonila to his office. When I called they send my paper work right away. I think I got it the next day. Prior to my appointment the office staff called me to remind me of my appointment and remind me to not eat after 8:00pm or so. They were very courteous, clear, and helpful with the whole process. When I arrive to the office, I was taken care of immediately. I didn't have to wait and stress. The office is amazing, it is very pleasant, welcoming, clean, and most of all everyone is kind, caring, and helpful. They when over the whole procedure by video and then I got to asked Dr. Elder for any questions or concerns I had about the procedure itself with Dr. Elder. He is very cool. I later found out he was an excellent surgeon as well. The procedure itself was completely painless and it seemed to me like it look 10 minutes. It was that fast. It had actually taken half an hour but I could not tell. My daughter drove me home and I took it easy for a couple of days. Follow all the instructions they give you and you will be good. It takes a while to recover from the surgery since the hole evens out very slowly. Thank you Dr. Elder. You are amazing at what you do. Much appreciated. The were fast, painless and professional. I am a breastfeeding mother and worked hard to be able to breastfeed so I felt a little upset/ disappointed about all the drugs they were going to use but understood. I gave four stars because I felt they could/should have taken more time to discuss my concerns instead of just saying it had to be done and going through the motions. Otherwise it was as great of an experience as getting a tooth pulled could be. read more

I have my wisdom tooth pulled by this group in 2007. I soon as the Dentist finish with the procedure, they already rushing me to stand up and go home. My leg was still very weak and my breathing was still very shallow as if i there is a plastic bag over my head. They put me to sleep which I assumed they have used some fentanly and some versed or the worst one Ketamine which considered as conscious sedation procedure medication. I tried to talk but my jaw was very numb and have a hard time clearing my saliva. I type in to my phone very quickly asking the dental assistant that i feel that i am not breathing and TYPE in the word Oxygen Pls, which she immediately put back the simple mask to my face. Then suddenly a voice of a Man said He doesn t need it and grab the mask from my face. I didn t know who was it because at that moment i have my eyes close trying to relax my breathing while the Oxygen mask was in my face. As soon as the mask was remove I felt so unsafe with my breathing and that feeling got worse, when after the mask was remove. Two person garb me by the arm from the chair or bed that i was lying on. As they drag me with my very unsteady gait into the wheelchair, i tried forcing my eyes to open so i can orient my self to my sounding. Every heavy step was similar to being intoxicated during my college days and the only difference is the feeling of being suffocated from something and drowning from your own saliva. I was coughing while my mouth was drooling with blood. As soon as the brought me out to the parking lot. I become like vampire which the bright sun irritated my eyes. I could here my friend who was picking me up kept asking me if i am Oky. The next day my friend explain to me that i look BAD the term he used said it all. He said I was Coughing, Breathing very shallow and could hardly stand up. By the way at that time i was an ER nurse who did a lot of mild sedation and now i work as sedation nurse. It is now very clear to me that what ever they did to me was not safe practice and not even the standard care for people who had conscious sedation. Its been more than 5 years but such horrible experience still linger in my head. I have meed at least 6 patient of Dr Mark Elder with same experience, two of them were my acquaintances from my former Dentist (Dr, Aquino of Vallejo California) and the other 4 where my patient at Kaiser Permanente. Definitely 5*! I unfortunately had to get my molar extracted and as with any dental office visit there is always apprehension. So I checked in, took notice of a clean office and ample parking, was greeted and sat for about ten mins and they called me in. Wow! I had some xrays done and then taken to the CHAIR. The dentist Dr. Elders and his assistant were very welcoming and made me feel very relaxed even though I was sad about leaving behind a piece of my dna ( sniff sniff) with them. They gave me a local anesthesia once and I was like I know I will need another shot from prior experience with other dental procedures. Anyway one shot did the trick and within 5-10 mins I was numb. Ok, so I'm already tense and I was expecting to still feel something. Within 10 mins my tooth was gone. Wow! No pain or nothing. Minor bleeding and was told it was normal to have some pain but I didn't have any during and after. They did prescribe an antibiotic and ibprofen and I followed the instructions according and I must say 3 mos later, I'm all healed up and just now saving up for an implant since dental plan only pays half. Highly recommend! And I will be coming here for my implant too. But I must say I've been doing just great with one of my molars missing in the back, I'm still able to enjoy great food. Had an infected tooth and needed it pulled. I have always feared the dentist and let this broken tooth go for years , but finally it needed to come out. I called ( very freindly staff) and got a consult with Dr Elder. He was very professional and made me feel at ease right away. I came in the next morning got a local ( that was the longest part of the procedure) and he let me wait till it really took effect. The tooth was out in less than 5 min. No pain no fuss. What a huge relief. I have been to many dentists over my 50 + years and this guy was the best. read more

This place is amazing! I went in on a Saturday because Benicia Oral Surgery was not open, and I had horrible pain from a dry socket that could not wait. They got me in right away and we're very helpful. The (male) assistant that helped me was so kind. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. He was gentle when placing the medicine in the painful socket and even made sure I was okay multiple times. Highly recommend this place. Very clean and their staff is wonderful. read more

I had to have an emergency tooth extraction today. I was in so much pain and I was calling around to different offices in Solano county to see who could get me in the quickest. They said I can come right away and Dr Riley saw me as soon as I arrived. He was very thorough in explaining the process to me. I had instant relief after he removed my tooth. Dr. Elder is an amazing pain free dental surgeon. I highly recommend him. Great office team as well. I'm having some pretty extensive work done after neglecting my teeth problems but I never felt embarrassed or insecure which is what caused me not to see dentists in the first place. I had my tooth pulled 2 days ago and it was not a good experience. Initially I needed 4 teeth pulled but I was really scared to be put "under" so I just opted for the 1 tooth that was giving me problems to be pulled..just numb, no anesthesia. I felt like Dr.Elder was upset by this, not concerned for me..but more so for his pocket book. He didnt ease my mind whatsoever, as he is getting ready to yank my tooth out I said, "My heart is racing Im so scared" Dr.Elder tells me, "Well its gonna hurt, thats why you should be put out" That was real reassuring..after it was done he barley said two words to me nor did his dental assistant, he just handed me a piece of paper with aftercare instructions. I felt like I wasnt worth his time as he didn't make what he wanted to with just pulling 1 tooth, where as he could of made killing off my insurance with sedation and 4 teeth pulled..wont be going back! read more

AMAZINGLY GOOD. When does anyone say that about going to a dentist. I had a severe abscess in a molar which also affected the adjoining molar. I was referred to Dr. Elder from the emergency room at Vaca Valley Hospital. The following morning I was in Dr. Elders office. Spent the normal 10 minutes on paperwork. Handed them my insurance and was called in for X-rays. 10 minutes later Dr. Elder look in my mouth and said he'd have them out in a minute but he'd have to put me out for it. He also asked if I'd like to have a couple wisdom teeth extracted while he had me out (saying I might as well, if i was under anethesia). I said yes... In went the I.V. and I was getting wheeled to the car inside of a half hour. Painless, quick, excellent work, and he went above and beyond by getting the other problem molars out at the same time. *Seriously. I had twelve, yes twelve extractions done by Dr. Elder. Twelve at one time. Six upper teeth and six lower teeth. His office staff is amazing at keeping the anxiety level low for their patients. I usually have great anxiety when dealing with dentists because the end result was always I needed a filling, then I needed root canals, then extractions. My dentist sent me to Dr. Elder, an Oral Surgeon, because the roots to my teeth were so large and close to my sinus passages, they were afraid to do the extractions. My appt. with Dr. Elder was made within the week. Parking is great there and I only waited about 10 minutes before I was taken to x-ray, then to the dental chair. Dr. Elder came in within five minutes and in that naturally calming tone he has, explained the procedure to me. My appt. for the actual extractions was made. I needed a Saturday appt., and was able to get one. When I came back for the actual extraction procedure I was put under the anesthesia and when I awoke it was over. No anxiety. My healing process was exceptional (remember, twelve extractions) and I know it's because of the excellent work Dr. Elder did. I was prescribed antibiotics and an antibiotic mouthwash.
