Dr. Elder was great! Explained everthing in detail. Very knowledgable & compassionate.

It was a hassle free to schedule a consultation, very quick and to the point type of consultation to get 2 wisdom teeth removed, one impacted. Wanted to know the cost to proceed and they informed me upfront with an itemized invoice of what my insurance covers and what is parient responsability. Very clean place, friendly and caring staff. The day of the procedure Dr. Elder explained what he was going to do, i was put to sleep and it felt like it was 5 min. Didnt swell up much, pain was like a 2 out of 10, had more discomfort than pain. Went a week after to get checked and to learn how to clean the socket. I recommend this place' read more

Recently had all four wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Riley. Initially found them on Yelp and my sister in law also recommended them. Overall I was very happy with my experience from initially setting my appointment to my follow up appointment a week after the extractions. Office was very clean and staff were friendly. I was not sure if I would have out of pocket expenses so they did a check for me ahead of time so I knew what to expect- luckily my insurance covered 100%! My initial experience with the staff made it easy to go through the procedure considering I was traumatized from a previous root canal experience. I asked to be put under for that reason as I did not want to feel anything or be awake... crazy how fast it seemed to have happened! I'm glad I chose this location to get my wisdom teeth taken out and highly recommend them! read more

Communication is not terribly efficient in this Office/ but the extraction was amazing.. My only issue was the fact that i had 2 days of terrible rash in the aftermath of my # 2 Tooth. removal- Dr,Elder will ONLY do extraction with heavy duty Anesthesia. there were 5 people in the operating room right..No wonder its so expensive!! I attempted to inform him that i am highly sensitive to any drugs but i was given something that did not go well with my immune system. Tooth was out in 6 minutes. Antibiotics and or Anesthesia drugs made me quite sick for 4 days afterwards I am alright now after a full week of surgery. read more

I had Dr Riley, let me tell you I am truly traumatized. He injected local, barely let it set up, then pulled my wisdom tooth, never took a seat or anything. It felt so medieval and I was in shock. Maybe Dr Elder is better. I cannot speak to that but please do your research. read more

I would definitely recommend Dr Elder for a job well done! Their services were commendable and his staff were great.

10/10 recommend coming here for wisdom extractions! Dr. Elder was great with explaining my treatment plan and the procedure. He finished my extraction so quickly despite having a more complicated situation. Overall an amazing oral surgeon. The business assistants and dental assistants are so nice and quick. They are very friendly and try to answer every question you have. They are very fast with coming up with the estimate for the procedure and walk you through the expenses. I was having extreme pain post surgery and decided to come back in and they were able to fit me in the same day I called! They're so sweet and are doing an amazing job here. I will be back in Feb to get my last wisdom tooth out!! read more

Are you in need of dental implants? Well we have the absolute best provider right here in Vallejo. Dr Mark Elder and his team provide seamless care. I went in and had my teeth (what was left of them) pulled ever so tenderly, and I walked out with beautiful teeth the same day! It was amazing. Dr Elders aftercare team is big on patient care & satisfaction. He is meticulously very selective with the lab that he uses. Affordable, Clean, Friendly , Fast, Quality. These are a few of their traits. read more

Very professional, always keep me updated on my appointments, friendly staff, clean office

This review is for Dr. Riley at this office, because that's who did our son's surgery. We met with Dr. Riley 3 times and all 3 times, he was kind, professional and helpful. Right away, he put our young son and us at ease in regards to his major oral surgery. The surgery went quickly and my son was made as comfortable as possible. We had the follow up appointment today and it went well. I wish Dr. Riley could be our doctor for all our dental/ orthodontic needs. The technicians were also friendly. I highly recommend this office for any oral surgeon needs and if we need to, we will definitely come back in the future. read more

Dr. Elder is the best in the area. Super professional and detailed. His staff is amazingly friendly and caring.

I am so happy that I was referred here. I had a consult appointment to have some teeth removed today and they seen me for the removal today at the last minute which I appreciate because I really did not want to miss work for a second appointment. Dr. Riley was AMAZING and very friendly. I was a little nervous because I tried to have one of my wisdom teeth pulled at the horrible Western Dental in El Cerrito and he was just pulling and pulling with minimal numbing, but Dr Riley restored my faith in dentists because I felt NOTHING (under local anesthesia). He was laughing saying I was his poster child because I did so well...but I did so well in that chair because he did so well at what he does. Thank you to Dr. Riley and all the staff at Vallejo Oral Surgery!!!!! read more

I'm very pleased with their services at this office. I had a bad consultation last week with another office and I wanted a second opinion because I knew I was being overcharged and at an office that didn't care about the patient. Safe to say Dr. Elder and his team gave me exactly what I was looking for. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and very thorough I felt like I walked out of there knowing everything that I needed to know for my procedure. Thank you Dr. Elder's office for great customer service and attentiveness I look forward to having my procedure with you guys. read more

Go see Dr. Elder if you are afraid or anxious to have oral surgery done. I had oral surgery done and he was able to calm down a big chicken like me. He is kind and extremely knowledgeable. The procedure was fast and relatively painless. He has a good staff and they keep a clean office. Also, they stick close to the schedule so the wait time is not long. Lastly, the price is fair and you don't feel like they are trying to nickel and dime money from you. read more

First, which Dentist or Oral Surgeon is open Saturday nowadays? Or able to schedule an appointment at 6am? Dr. Elder and Vallejo Oral Surgery does!! They have a very accommodating schedule for us busy people. I had to extract 2 wisdom teeth, a back molar, and a bone graft on Saturday morning. By Monday morning, I was ready to go back to work! Dr. ELder and staff were so inviting and friendly. I experienced very little pain and the stitches in my mouth are pretty neat and not sloppy. Needless to say, I highly recommend Dr. Elder and staff for all of your oral surgery needs. I will be seeing them again for my tooth implant in a few months. read more

The staff at Vallejo Oral Surgery were very welcoming, and professional. When I got there for my appointment I wasn't made long to wait. Doctor Elder, and Doctor Riley explained everything during pre-op & and post op. After my operation the pain lasted a day or so but I followed the regimen regarding what to eat/drink afterwards. I would highly recommend Vallejo Oral Surgery for your dental needs. read more

I left an incredible review a little while back that I don't see here on Yelp today. This doctor and his staff are the best in the business. I had a lot of teeth extracted for upper dentures and they were awesome. Then I had an infected tooth on the bottom which was really bad. He removed that as well and I went from "give me a gun' to total relief. I would give them 100 stars if you could Then today I get home and I got a check for fourteen dollars for overpayment. I tell you these guys are worth millions. I'm proud to say they were the one who worked on my teeth with almost no pain at all I would highly recommend them!!!! read more

Great place. Clean. Staff is very friendly and informative. Robie was especially attentive and calmed my nerves before the surgery. And Robie explained everything thoroughly Dr. Elder was efficient and I feel great after the implant procedure. I was surprised at how short and so glad. I had to have oral surgery for the entire top of my mouth. As bad as that sounds the experience itself was GREAT! The entire team made me feel comfortable from the moment that I walked into their office. Dr. Elder answered my questions. I didn't feel rushed or feel like I was "just another patient". After my initial consultation I was able to get an appointment immediately. Since this was during the Covid-19 pandemic I wanted to take advantage of hiding behind a mask. My surgery went fine and although I don't remember it, I was in and out within the hour. I am looking forward to my follow-up appointment next week just so that I can say thank you! Next year, when my benefits reload I'll be back to finish the bottom half of my mouth. I couldn't feel better about getting it done here. FYI, I looked into 2 other oral surgeons before getting my procedure done and was uncomfortable with the idea of going to either of those offices after the initial consult. read more

A great team of professionals! Had an emergency extraction and the team at this office were able to get me in and out efficiently. They made a horrible experience a better one to handle. I will be back--- if more work is needed :) read more

I haven't been to a dentist in over 10 years, as I am terribly frighten by them. I'm almost 30 and had never got my wisdom teeth removed and hadn't planned on doing so until I found myself in unbearable pain due to an infection from my impacted wisdom teeth. Without making this long winded I'll get to the point! Staff: All of the staff from the receptionist to the dental assistants to the actual surgeons are very friendly and extremely efficient. I adore Dr.Mahr as he and his assistants made me feel welcome and very knowledgeable about everything that was going on throughout my consultation appointment and surgery. Equipment: They are very clean office, which I can Appreciate. I didn't see a spec of dust on the equipment and they X-ray machines that are used looked modern and well kempt. Getting my wisdom teeth pulled was fast and painless. I came in they gave me some relaxing medicine through a mask. Less than a minute later Dr. Mahr arrived, injected my arm with the IV and I was out. Extraction only took about 30 minutes and I was on my way home! That's literally it! Before I was discharged They gave me very detail typed instructions for after care which I appreciated. The only gripe I have is that there isn't much ventilation or seating in the lobby area so it got pretty stuffy to me while I was waiting but I guess that's just me reaching for something other than a compliment to give them to make this review seem more balanced. I highly recommend this practice to any and all seeking any kind of oral surgery work! I promise you, you will not be disappointed! read more

Dr. Elder is AWESOME! I was very nervous when my dentist informed me I needed an extraction, he recommended me with Dr. Elder. His office is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Dr. Elder performed my extractions and I was back to work 2 days later. Zero pain, no inflamation. He knows what he's doing. I remember reading the reviews prior to my surgery and still feeling nervous; so if you are in that boat, I say no worries Dr. Elder will take good care of you. Thank you, Dr. Elder! read more

I had a broken root canal, and the tooth, plus some damaged bone had to be removed. I was SUPER anxious about oral surgery, as I've had some not so happy experiences back in my college days, when I put some things off, and didn't have much money to fix it. Dr Elder was calm, friendly, made me feel that things were going to be ok, and I've never had anesthesia work so smoothly and painlessly. It LITERALLY was over before I even realized it! We were getting set up, I took a breath or two - turned my head and said "how long before we start?" The nurse said, "We're all done!" I was astounded it all went so easily. Definitely lowered my fear of future dental work, already improved by my usual dentist, Dr. Jackson, whom I've been seeing for awhile now - and who referred me here. I will definitely be referring others here, and would choose him again for future needs! read more

Our Ortho and DDS in Mill Valley referred someone in the Mill Valley area. The office which they referred was slow in getting back. Not too competitive in the pricing for removal of wisdom teeth. I tried calling Dr. Elder because he was in our Guardian Network for providers. Our benefits remaining were going to expire. I figured it would be worth the drive up to Novato. (Dr Elder has an office in Novato and Vallejo). Well worth the drive. Dr Elder is so nice, gentle and wonderful. The staff is great. They worked with us on our insurance balance. The suite was very clean and professional. No problems. Very attentive. The whole process went well! It is also nice because it is easier to drive in and pick up wooozie patient in a wheel chair. Good location. Worth the drive. Loved them all! read more

One of the Best oral surgeon I have ever been to for tooth problems. I was quite nervous a bit before surgery was about to begin but Dr Elder put my mind to ease by his kind confident words. After he had started my IV I don't even remember going out and woke up with the tooth extraction and bone graft complete. I must say a great professional team and Sue I am thankful for answering all my pre op and post op questions! I will be going back for tooth implant in a couple of months. read more

I've never had a tooth pulled but need 3 done in order to get braces. I went into the office panicked & scared (about being put under and having a tooth pulled) his staff assured me several times I'd be okay. Doctor came in , super friendly, numbed my arm, put the iv in all within seconds. He knew I was about to try to talk my way out of it and Within 10 seconds I was asleep. Woke up (what felt like) minutes later in my bed . Today's the day after the appointment & I don't need the prescribed pain killers. I'd definitely recommend this office. read more

They work so well with my young pre teen daughter. It's a beautiful office, friendly staff and an amazing surgeon.

I can't say that the experience of wisdom teeth extraction is enjoyable, but the staff here is great. I enjoyed the friendly techs. Dr. Elder was super cool. We even sang a few songs on the way out of the office like "rolling rolling rolling" and "they see me rollin...they hatin." Charlene is great because I was late and she was so kind and reassuring both times. Awesome business! Am Can native read more

Had to visit Dr. Elders for an emergency extraction due to a dental abscess and with this being my first extraction/surgery ever and being extremely terrified of the dentist, him and his staff/assistants made me feel very comfortable and the whole procedure was done pain free and in 20min. 3 weeks ago I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled by Dr Elder, the surgery went well since my wisdom teeth roots were very deep and impacted in my jaw the doctor gave me anesthesia through the IV in my left arm. After surgery I woke up with gauze in my mouth but I didnt feel any pain. Two weeks later I healed with no infection or dry socket in my mouth. Dr Elder and his staff are very professional plus the oral surgeon office is very clean. I would totally suggest any one to come here to get their oral surgery done. read more

I am on day 1 of healing from my 2 tooth extraction from Dr Elder's office, and despite the tiny pain and swelling, I know the job was done well. I just walked into the office first time 48 hours ago-for 2 old root canals never finished, from 4 years ago that now needspecial surgical root removal and bone graft. I came over thru my new dentist, Dr Duquette'S referral- same day, to Dr Elders immediate next morning oral surgery setup, I truly feel my pains, treatment issuses, and of course billing and insurance needs were all handled just as smooth and professionally as Ive seen in any office or town, big, or small! I brought my teeth which had been neglected from a combination of financial and procrastination issues, and now were a painful crisis, and got a minimum pain maximum quality afffordable treatment plan under way, with honesty, hi tech procedures great patient caring and teaching, and no sneaky up-sell B.S. That some offices try to fill thier coffers with. If you are reading this review, cause you are nervous, or in pain, or in financial stress over your dental care, take a deep breath and call Dr Elder's ! Youll be singing " I feel Good" like James Brown! read more

Dr. Elder is the nicest, sweetest man! I accompanied a friend who was getting her wisdom teeth extracted and explained to him that I would need the same procedure. I expressed my concerns about having this procedure done. I also told him about a previous consultation that I had with another oral surgeon that made me even more nervous and the quote for the procedure was too much for me. He calmly and patiently explained everything to me and what to expect. He told me I had nothing to worry about. And I really didn't! I wasn't charged for my consultation or x-rays, he gave me a discount and he even split my payments. The day of the procedure I remember coming in, getting set up, him saying hi to me and telling me I wasn't going to feel a thing. Next thing I remember was waking up in my own room lol. read more
