Because of his bad history with dentist, he gets very anxious at visits and her and her staff are both patient and accommodating to his needs. He recently had a dental emergency around 9 pm on Monday night, I contacted Dr. Clift and she spent hours in the middle of the night making sure he was ok. I found out the next day it was her wedding anniversary and felt so bad but at the same time so grateful to have a doctor who actually cares. She is a dying breed and I can't recommend her enough!

Today my son came in for two fillings under oral sedation and use of laughing gas. The whole team made my son feel extremely comfortable which in turn had me feeling comfortable. My son has several allergies and had many previous reactions so I did come in a little anxious myself. Unfortunately, these questions were often met with condescension, inconsistency in information, and a lack of transparency. The final straw was receiving a written communication that included a highly inappropriate and alarming term, which even if sent accidentally, significantly undermined our trust of this practice and their sense of professionalism. Because of these issues of the practice, we've decided to seek care elsewhere. This may be a good fit for families who are comfortable not asking many questions, but it ultimately was not the right fit for ours.

On top of that, the crown to the right is super crooked and floss not only passes between the teeth but also over (above) the tooth along the gum line inside the crown. A very poorly placed crown which can lead to food getting trapped and bacteria in the tooth. They should have made sure their work was done properly while she was under the anesthesia because they know nobody wants to put their child under more than one time. One time is scary enough! And now there's nothing we can do according to the dentist, but wait until she grows more and is cooperative with the dentist. Lazy work that could have been avoided. Very upsetting.

This review is way overdue because I began taking my kids as toddlers and now the oldest is 13. Dr. Bala is patient and kind. He remembers his patients and will greet them as he passes by, even though he is on his way to another patient. My kids have completely different experiences because my daughter has had cavities and my son has had none. My daughter needed a filling at around 8 or 9 years old. She was already uncomfortable with the normal teeth cleanings and X-rays so I knew she would not like having to get a shot and teeth worked on. Dr. Bala tried comforting her by explaining what he was going to do and had no problem stopping if he thought she was uncomfortable. The office itself is very clean, welcoming and bright. There are televisions above the exam chairs to help distract the kids while they get work done. Dr. Bala has many assistants that help get the patients in and out in a timely manner. And although my kids are still hesitant going to the dentist, it is not out of fear. They just don't like the taste of the vitamins they put on their teeth. On the day of my appointment I arrived on time. Everything seemed to be going smooth until I gave the receptionist my address. I was then interrogated with questions like "Why are you coming here" and "Why did you come back". There was no thank you for returning or we appreciate you being a loyal patient. Almost felt condemned about my choice to return. It caught me off guard but I explained how I liked Dr Jackie and how I really felt comfortable with her service. The receptionist kind of just stared and said "oh ok". I get to the back and I thought I was taking regular X-rays and I was told the images were for the ortho consult. I apologized for the confusion and explained that I moved forward with another Dr. for ortho and just needed the cleaning done. I also explained during a confirmation call that I no longer needed the ortho treatment just the cleaning. The hygienist returned with the receptionist and she said "I'm confused on why you're here". I explained again for cleaning services. She said "well you went to all these places how do we know if your insurance will cover the X-ray". I explained to her those Xrays were done by orthodontist and that's just a panel view not a dental X-ray and I paid for that out of pocket. She went on and on about my last dentist and you went to so many prior dentist and I don't understand why you're here. At that moment I didn't know why I was there allowing her to speak to me like a child. I said "can you call met life and see when the last submission for X-rays was". She said no and gave an exhausted explanation about her having to call my prior dentist. Mind you I went to one orthodontist who I moved forward with treatment with and my prior dentist who I mistaken my last appointment date. After I left I called met life to confirm all service submissions and come to find out I was actually seen the end of last year so none of my money was used nor has anyone submitted anything for payment. I'm sure the receptionist could've done that. Anyway, I told her I would reschedule and just her lack of professionalism threw me off. Does it matter if I drove from Brentwood? All you need to know is I like Dr Jackie and it's not coming out of your pocket. I sat in my car for five minutes going over in my head if I should walk away or stay and deal with the rude receptionist because I like Dr. Jackie's work. Just knowing I would have to deal with the receptionist made me walk back in thank her and told her I'll just keep my previous Dr. It was no "let me change your mind" no "how can we keep you as a patient".
