He recently had a dental emergency around 9 pm on Monday night, I contacted Dr. Clift and she spent hours in the middle of the night making sure he was ok. I found out the next day it was her wedding anniversary and felt so bad but at the same time so grateful to have a doctor who actually cares. She is a dying breed and I can't recommend her enough!

Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion. I paid a $300 deposit for my son's dental appointment. I did not cancel or miss the appointment. We showed up as scheduled, but my son was unable to cooperate, so the services were not performed. When we scheduled another appointment, I was required to pay another $300 deposit instead of having the original deposit applied. Ultimately, I lost $600 in deposits, despite the original treatment never being completed. I spoke directly with the dentist and explained the situation, hoping she would understand and work with me. I did not feel that she showed any sympathy for my situation whatsoever. She ended our call without telling me directly that the money would not be returned. Instead, she had her front desk contact me afterward to inform me that the deposit would not be refunded. I found that extremely disappointing, especially after I had spoken with her personally about my concerns. There was also a major lack of transparency regarding the anesthesia charges. The anesthesiologist told me the dental office had informed them that my son's procedure would take three hours, and I was being asked to pay the full anesthesia cost based on three hours. When I questioned the dentist directly, she told me she could actually complete the procedure in two hours. Had I simply paid what I was originally asked to pay without questioning it, I would have paid for an additional hour of anesthesia that apparently was not needed. That situation made me question the transparency of the entire billing process. Between losing $600 in deposits and discovering the discrepancy in the estimated anesthesia time, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward with this office. I tried to resolve this directly with the dentist before sharing my experience publicly, but unfortunately, nothing was resolved. I fully expect the office may respond to this review with an explanation or justification, but I wish that same effort had been put into actually resolving the issue with me when I contacted them directly. A response to a review does not change the fact that I lost $600 or address the concerns I raised. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that parents get all deposit policies, procedure costs, estimated anesthesia times, and refund policies in writing before paying anything and ask all the questions you have.

Her staff was exceptional over the phone, went the extra mile to check our benefits and schedule us right away. Dr. Clift's staff was kind when we arrived. Dr. Clift personally came out to greet us and consult prior to taking us back, then did a thorough examination when she did take us to the back and was kind and clear in relaying what was going on. Her energy is amazing! She is up beat and positive. She is EXCELLENT with CHILDREN as is her staff. She also treated me like an adult when speaking to me and did not speak down to me or shame me about the dental issues we were experiencing. She educated my son and appropriately and was both real and gentle. When completing my son's work Dr. Clift and her staff were able to calm and reassure my son while also explaining what was happening while she was working. I also explained during a confirmation call that I no longer needed the ortho treatment just the cleaning. The hygienist returned with the receptionist and she said "I'm confused on why you're here". I explained again for cleaning services. She said "well you went to all these places how do we know if your insurance will cover the X-ray". I explained to her those Xrays were done by orthodontist and that's just a panel view not a dental X-ray and I paid for that out of pocket. She went on and on about my last dentist and you went to so many prior dentist and I don't understand why you're here. At that moment I didn't know why I was there allowing her to speak to me like a child. I said "can you call met life and see when the last submission for X-rays was". She said no and gave an exhausted explanation about her having to call my prior dentist. Mind you I went to one orthodontist who I moved forward with treatment with and my prior dentist who I mistaken my last appointment date. After I left I called met life to confirm all service submissions and come to find out I was actually seen the end of last year so none of my money was used nor has anyone submitted anything for payment. I'm sure the receptionist could've done that. Anyway, I told her I would reschedule and just her lack of professionalism threw me off. Does it matter if I drove from Brentwood? All you need to know is I like Dr Jackie and it's not coming out of your pocket. I sat in my car for five minutes going over in my head if I should walk away or stay and deal with the rude receptionist because I like Dr. Jackie's work. Just knowing I would have to deal with the receptionist made me walk back in thank her and told her I'll just keep my previous Dr. It was no "let me change your mind" no "how can we keep you as a patient".
