My son attends college in the Bay Area. Two weeks ago, the bonded section fell off his front tooth for the 2nd time. At 10 years old, he fell and chipped it, then when he had braces, the nerve got more damaged, so he had to have a root canal which made his tooth gray and brittle. He found a dentist near his college who was going to charge us $3-4K ($2-3K after insurance) and was going to place a crown, then shave and veneer his other front tooth to match. We weren't happy with another perfectly good tooth being damaged or the cost. By chance, I was flying into town the same day and took him for a haircut when we passed by 32 Dental. I thought it looked nice, the signs indicated that they did the type of work he needed, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Their top dentist and owner, Dr. Kristian Cabugao, saw him the next day, matched and made a near perfect shade/texture crown, and slightly shaped the surrounding teeth to avoid any grinding. Then, he was fitted with a custom top/bottom mouth guard. All of this happened the very next day in 3 hours for under $1K (after insurance)! The other front tooth did not even need a veneer. Believe the hype - 32 Dental is the best! And unfortunately for me I've had a lot of dental work with a lot of different dentists. If you are afraid of getting dental care, feel like you have messed up teeth, and/or have anxiety about going to the dentist this is the dentist for you. They are so focused on making your experience comfortable and pain free. They even offer me a blanket when I go bc they can tell I'm getting cold. I had fillings done on the right side (upper and lower) at 32 Dental in American Canyon. The dentist who performed my fillings, Dr. Cheuk, was excellent--professional, gentle, and thorough. I truly appreciated her care and had no issues with the actual dental work. A few days later, I developed severe throbbing pain in my lower jaw, followed by noticeable swelling of the right-side lymph node. The pain worsened to the point where I could not swallow comfortably or sleep through the night. Concerned about a possible infection or nerve involvement, I contacted the clinic early in the morning requesting to be seen sooner due to the severity of my symptoms and an upcoming trip. I was evaluated by the clinic owner, Dr. Kristian. While I acknowledge that he took time to see me, the interaction itself was very concerning. He suggested the pain could be due to the injection being placed too deeply into the muscle but did not clearly address whether there was an infection. When I pointed out my swollen lymph node, he stated he did not feel it, despite it being obvious and easily palpable. More troubling was the lack of clear communication and professionalism. I was not given a straightforward explanation of my X-rays or a definitive assessment. Instead, remarks such as "I don't like taking antibiotics, do you?" felt dismissive and unprofessional. As a patient, I expected a clear clinical explanation--not personal opinions. I left the appointment without understanding what was happening, without reassurance, and without a clear plan. I ultimately had to seek care from another dentist to properly evaluate the issue. While Dr. Cheuk provided excellent care, my experience with Dr. Kristian was the opposite. His lack of bedside manner and communication made an already painful and stressful situation worse. I went to this dentist long time ago only one time two years ago, for a simple cleaning check up, they had a new employee drop one of their devices on my head on accident, and I screamed. They said sorry, but that doesn't cut it, I paid full price for my service. I could've sued them but please don't go here unless you want carelessness. Dr Kristian, a good dentist would've gave a discount or something in the service that was provided. That wasn't offered to me, I could've sued them as my head was hurting, which could have resulted in a lawsuit. I understand accidents happen, but your new employee dropping a device on my head was careless and unacceptable. I would've never done this review one star if Dr Kristian would be more concerned with my head pain instead of payment. That's poor customer service. This review is long overdue, I should've done this review right after my head pain. Take care of your customers offer them a discount to make up for that, this could be resulted in a lawsuit. I now go to a dentist in Fairfield, they have never dropped a heavy device on my head, and they have given me discounts on my cleaning. Don't waste your time here, this Dr is more focused on payments versus customer service. A good dentist would've given a discount knowing my head was hit by his device. Dr Kristian thinks just because we are Filipino and we know the same people, he thinks it's ok to focus on payment rather than my head pain. I have been a Patient with 32 Dental for over a year now. I highly recommend Dr. Kristian, Co-Dentists and all of the wonderful Hygienist and Dental Assistants as well as front desk staff! I called 32 dental same day and Karen at front desk fit me in when possible and when I came in Dr. Kristian was very patient with explaining things and problem solved what may have caused the discomfort and also provided a regimen. Dr. Kristian is very hands on and will go into the problem with no excuse. I am very very thankful to have been referred by a coworker of mine. I highly recommend the friendly atmosphere and the way staff simply asks me how my day is going and what plans I have going on. The Dental Hygienists are wonderful at giving tips when it comes to my teeth's wellbeing. Attention ALL Staff: Based on MY experience here, * The proper way to use latex gloves are to wash your hands PRIOR to grabbing and putting on a fresh pair of gloves, otherwise you are just cross contaminating the outer surface of the gloves that you are going to be putting into your patient's mouths. Make absolutely sure to do this each and every time. Don't forget. * With that said, make completely sure to use gloves, not your bare sweaty hands, when grabbing the little paper cups around the rim to pour mouthwash in it, for your patients to gargle from. * Sanitize the rooms "thoroughly and completely" after each use; chairs, headphones, sunglasses, etc. read more

I'm not one to write a lot of reviews online but I feel compelled to in this case. I've been a patient at 32 Dental for over a decade. My family of five have had nothing but positive experience starting from the front office all the way back to the finish line working with Dr. Kristian and other doctors on duty. Staff here are extremely knowledgeable and walks you through each and every step of the process making you feel safe and comfortable. One of my biggest regrets is switching provider when our dental insurance had changed at one point and 32 Dental fell off as one of our listed providers on our network. We tried another local dental practice to suffice our new dental insurance coverage. We lasted less than six months with the other practice due to what we are used to at 32 Dental providing the highest level of service from start to finish with inviting atmosphere, clean & tidy as you would expect from a dental practice and last but not the least their exceptional customer service that make you feel welcome and even educate you on things you don't fully understand when you have to make choices on procedures. I just went on to Yelp to read a new response to my review, but it disappeared before I could finish reading it! Anyway, this would be a good point at which to clarify the facts by simply relaying the pertinent facts in chronological order. BUT, FIRST, A REMINDER OF THE REASON FOR MY NEGATIVE REVIEW After using 32 Dental for about a year, I requested emergency treatment for a severe toothache in mid-December. Dentists typically treat severe toothache as an emergency, and fit in the patient straight away, regardless of how busy they are. But 32 Dental would offer me only an appointment for 3 weeks later, so I posted a negative review. CHRONOLOGY (pre-Dec 21) In November-mid December I complained of toothache. Over that period, 32 Dental gave me 3 appointments. They offered no immediate treatment, and their diagnoses were incorrect (the 3rd appointment was necessitated because the 2nd appointment dentist gave a ridiculously incorrect diagnosis - that clenching my teeth caused the toothache!). Later, the toothache became worse. When I called, they denied me an emergency appointment, offering one no sooner than 3 weeks later. REASONS FOR DENIAL They gave the following reasons for denying my request: (1) they were booked up with patients wanting to use up their insurance benefits before the end of the year, (2) the holidays were coming up. They stated these reasons very clearly, unambiguously and repeatedly. There is no doubt whatsoever that they gave these reasons exclusively. They offered no other reasons. [Incidentally, up until they stated those reasons, I didn't know that dentists were especially busy in December (or the reason for it).] CHRONOLOGY (Dec 21-) By December 20, the toothache had intensified and was now unbearable, and it kept me awake all night. So, the next day, I drove to 32 Dental to plead in person for emergency treatment. They denied my request, citing the reasons listed above. They would only offer an appointment for January 13 - later changed to January 6, which is still too long to wait with unbearable toothache (they never offered prescription pain medication). There is no doubt that they offered only those dates - nothing sooner. I declined their offer (because I couldn't endure severe tooth pain for 2-3 weeks). After standing in the office pleading with the receptionist for some time, she left to consult the owner. She returned after a few minutes to tell me that he suggested I consult an endodontist. This was the FIRST TIME they suggested an endodontist (endodontists were not mentioned at any earlier times or dates). ENDODONTIST & NEW DENTIST I convinced the endodontist to see me the same day, despite his being booked up. Later I contacted a different dentist, who agreed to see me the next day, even though it was right before the holidays, and even though they were booked up with patients wanting to use up their insurance benefits before the end of the year. 32 Dental had refused to see me that quickly, offering me an appointment no sooner than 2-3 weeks later. And they cited the reason referred to above. Hence my negative review. The above are the facts of my individual case. No carefully worded, ambiguous "generalized" statements about 32 Dental's alleged "standard" approach can negate the facts in my individual case. read more

Dr. Kristian, I appreciate you finding the time to write long paragraphs in response to my review. In which you and your colleages should take the same amount of quality time and effort but to talk with each patient and explain things throughly. Without rushing and aiming for crowns and walking on to the next patient. Also your dental office doesn't need to call each time someone cancels unless we request them to do so. It seems rather pushy! Keep in mind that rushing the work to be done is not a way to keep a patient. Your front staff obviously doesn't inform you of the amount of patients that are leaving and have left your dental office. It's not surprising that you didn't took my review (feedback) very well including of those who gave you the same amount of stars. You even took more of your time and effort to read all of my reviews. It's a shame that you dont take that same amount of time with your patients and listen to their concerns. I hope you give each review that's given to your buisness some thought and reflect what your dental office can do better without sounding sarcastic. Like I said before if you paid close attention, you wouldn't be loosing patients. Hope reviews like mine helps you to improve. It doesn't take much time for people to catch on and see for themselves. This review has a part about the dentist really hurting me and a part about being overcharged. Skip down a couple paragraphs to get those details. I first came in to see Dr. Kristian. My whole jaw was in serious pain. He said my molar had an abscess and referred me to a couple of endodontists and a few days later I got a root canal from Dr. Salehi in Benicia. Two and a half hours in the chair, although he got me numb without much problem. $2700 but the infection was gone. Then I had to wait at least three weeks for the crown, as Dr. Salehi had recommended. So I was chewing on the other side and suddenly felt that I cracked a molar there. 32 Dental got me in the same day and Dr. Chuk was actually pretty good. It's kind of tough to get #19 numb but she did it without too much pain from the needle. She gave me a crown. Then she told me I also needed a crown in another molar. The stabbing pain: I came back a few days later and saw Dr. Kristian. For some reason this was one of the worst dental experiences I've had in many years. I'm sensitive to pain and he was really fast, jabbing me with the needle several times. Then the numbness wore off too soon and I needed more painful shots later. I did ask him to slow down when giving more shots and to use more numbing gel first. He did that and it was better. All told, 32 Dental charged me $6,547.00 for three crowns and two fillings. The x-rays and exam were thrown in. I put it all on a credit card because I don't have dental insurance. I asked for a discount since I paid it all at one time, and they said they couldn't do that. A few weeks later I was looking at the 32 Dental website and saw that they mentioned a "Membership Plan" for people who don't have insurance. I went in today and I asked the front desk about that. She gave me a brochure and pointed out that for $36 a month I could have gotten 20 percent off the crowns and fillings. That would have been $1300 in savings! The front desk person said that they tell "everyone" about that Membership Plan when they first come in, but no one ever spoke with me about it. Maybe because my first visit was just a consultation where I was referred to the endodontist. I don't know, but I asked today if they could help me out a little on the bill now and I was told no. I even said I was going to write this review and still, no. I got into this mess because my fabulous dentist retired recently and I hadn't figured out who my new dentist would be. I had no dentist, I was in a lot of pain and on a lot of pain meds for that, and this is what happened. Moral of the story is: make sure you always know you have a good dental office to go to in case something happens, like an abscess. read more

They have modern/top notch equipment, great big space which includes their expansion space, the dental assistants, dentists and receptions are the best. Everyone is helpful and welcoming. They explain the services and billing breakdowns before scheduling any procedures. The type of care and quality they provide is amazing. I'm very angry with this dentist. I have been coming here for a couple of years, and always keep up my appointments. I happen to have an appointment coming up, but the day before my appointment I started having a sore throat and coughing. I know they have a policy for cancelation, but never thought I would be charged $100 for an emergency cancelation. I can't predict when I am going to get sick, and the best thing I thought to do was cancel it that way I don't get anyone else sick. I call to cancel it, and the rep doesn't mention anything about a cancelation fee. Then about five minutes later I get a text saying they are going to use my deposit to pay for the cancelation. I call them back right away, and no one answers. I call back and finally someone decides to answer and tell me that's policy. I think that was absolutely unprofessional that the rep didn't mention anything and then rhey decide to tell me by text. I would understand if i cancel just because, then ya charge me the fee. How is someone going to predict getting sick from your cancelation policy. I will not be returning to this dentist ever again. I should've listened to my sister when she said this dentist is a rip off! read more

My daughter usually doesn't do so well at the the dentist. These two were attentive to her and my daughter said you guys are my friends right, they both responded yeah were friends now. While visiting CA for a wedding, I recently had an embarrassing situation, where a filling between my front teeth fell out, leaving me with a noticeable hole in my smile. Although we are all wearing masks most the day, it was definitely funny looking and embarrassing. I skipped yelp and asked around for recommendations from my real friends, and was impressed when two of my friends both independently recommended I drive from Walnut Creek to American Canyon, just to see Dr Kristian Cabugao. Not being a normal patient, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to schedule an appointment, but was pleasantly surprised when i called. They understood my dilemma and fit me in on the same day! The office is clean and covid-safe protocols were taken. And Dr Kristian and his staff were ABSOLUTELY PROFESSIONAL and FRIENDLY. I felt so comfortable and satisfied with the beautiful new front filling he gave me, that I asked if I could return for a full cleaning and polishing. Guess what, they saw me immediately! Dr Kristian and his team brightened my smile for the group wedding photos, and saved me. I had a wonderful experience at his office, and recommend him. Even if it means driving, it's worth it. I had Dawn as my dental hygienist a couple of weeks ago. She was the best dental hygienist I've ever had. She was really patient and really took her time to make sure my teeth were clean. I had left over glue from 20 years ago on my front teeth from retainers and she cleared them and made my front teeth as smooth as possible. I couldn't believe that was possible the way she did it. Okay I hate going to the dentist. I get bad anxiety before an appointment l. I hadn't gone to the dentist in about 10 years because of it. I found this place on yelp, I've always passed by it but never thought anything of it until I seen the reviews. I went for a cleaning and X-rays in April and I was terrified and anxious days before the appointment and once I got there everyone was super nice to me. The X-ray tech was nice and talked to me throughout the whole process of getting the X-rays which took about 10 minutes. The hygienist was nice and gentle and made the cleaning almost painless. I've gone in for a crown and two fillings as well last month and they made the whole process so easy and painless. They have Netflix for you if you want, which I opted for during my crown. It was a nice distraction. The place is so clean. They accept insurance and have brochures for a credit card. Love the staff there! My anxiety isn't as bad since coming here. read more

Highly, highly, highly recommended! They were the quarterbacks of the excellent team that, relatively painlessly, put in a tooth implant so perfect, no one can tell it's there! They worked so well with American Canyon Ortho, Dr Nichelini, and Dr Elder, I can confidently say, no matter what you need, they have you covered. Invisalign to create the space, bone graft to support the titanium rod, and the beautiful cherry on top, the actual crown, all planned and executed flawlessly. I've worn ugly braces, embarrassing head gear, painful spacers....I have dentist/ortho PTSD. Understandably, I've been putting off an implant for a very prominent front tooth for over two decades. Removable "flippers" are a nightmare. Cleaning them, losing them, replacing them, fumbling with it during meals and pictures....all the stakes and embarrassment increased when it's with business or dating prospects! Finally decide to take the plunge and start looking for a dentist/oral surgeon combo....after nexting half a dozen dentists closer to home, my colleague, Gabe Balanag, overheard me struggling to find a dentist. I trusted him enough to make the trek up from Fremont and later even from Palo Alto to American Canyon...and not only was I not disappointed, I couldn't be more thrilled! The RESULT, is obviously life changing. This new, confident, COMPLETE smile is getting more attention and compliments than ever and has lead to a direct increase in my sales/business. What impressed me most, was the care and skill with which the PROCESS was handled. My only regret is not documenting it more thoroughly. Gotten a good amount of work and cleaning here and overall great costumer service and quality dental care. I've dealt with lifelong fear of terrible dentists. They never explained anything to me and would only become irritated if I complained of pain. I am very hard to get numb so it takes a lot of time and extra shots before any work can be done. But Dr. Kristian is patient, informative, and very understanding of fears that I have. Their place is also state of the art with crowns made in house. He will go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and that the treatment he gives will benefit the long term, not just fill his pockets for now. So relieved we found them and that they take Delta dental! Appointments are easy to make and the staff is friendly and professional. From giving the shot, to answering questions, to making sure I was comfortable; he was professional and attentive during my cap replacement. The same can be be said for his staff. This was by far, the best experience with a DentaI office I have ever had! I had been searching for a local dentist for almost 2 years, and while driving to Wal Mart I noticed a new office opening up. I was curious and decided to check them out to see what they were about. Then I found out that the owners are brothers. Dr. Kristian and Dr. Kevin. I wasn't sure which dentist to see so I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kristian since he had an avaliable time slot for me after my work. I have to let you know that I only hear great things about the both of them. I have had such bad experiences in the past with offices that are trying to sell me procedures that aren't covered with my insurance. However, Dr. Kristian and Dr. Kevin were so helpful and informative they took their time to make sure I understood what needed to be done. They tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible and their staff even sent for a request of coverage to my insurance company about a procedure to help reduce my out of pocket and offered payment plans. The X-rays are digital so I was able to follow along with the Dr. on a flat screen tv as he explained what he was going to do and why (if you have kids, they will really enjoy the interactive experience!). This office was so comfortable and down right cozy! I felt as if I were at a high end spa. I highly recommend this Dentist! * Pros: everything is so great! they even have great magazines!
