No one wants to have dental work done , let alone a root canal. I was referred to Golden Gate Endodontics for my first, gasp, root canal. I was worked on by Dr. Cohen and Bianca. For Cohen, this might have been his 10,000th root canal. It was incredibly routine for him, and it showed in his confidence. Yet, with some professionals, routine and confidence can be accompanied by arrogance. Not so with Cohen. He took personal attention to me like I was his only patient. He and Bianca, who is also quite savvy, worked great together. Bianca must have worked with Dr. Cohen so much that she could anticipate what the Dr. needed. My daughter had a toothache and we couldn't find a last minute appointment at her current dentist or any other dentists in Benicia. One of the dentist offices I called recommended Golden State Endodontics. Thankfully they had an opening the next day and Dr. Lim figured out that the toothache was caused by a misalignment of her teeth. She manipulated the tooth a bit and referred us to an orthodontist. Even with the slight manipulation, my daughter's pain lessened, and over the next few days gradually disappeared! We will still be going to the orthodontist as recommended, but Dr. Lim helped us tremendously in the interim. She was very patient as well in explaining everything to us! The receptionist was also so super nice and efficient and patient. I am a good gauge as I spoke to 12 different offices that day trying to find an appointment and she was one of the most friendliest of the receptionists. She made the whole experience easy and was patient with me as I had to call numerous times to coordinate the appointment as my daughter was at work. She was great to interact with! read more

Root Canal...thats what i need and Im not a big fan when it comes to visiting a dentist but "you need to do what you need to do" if you want to be able to eat and drink (and you gotta eat and drink!) but when you feel discomfort from the hot or cold hittin that nerve in your affected tooth(s)...its hard to enjoy eating at all. Im not sure whats better...a tooth extraction or root canal...I'll take the root canal anytime!...as long as i make an appointment with Goldenstate Endodontist. Dr Cohen is amazing and so is Haley. Also need to include the ladies at the front desk. Thank you! Im also certain ALL the other staff performing procedures are outstanding as well. Dr Cohen straight up said this is the problem and explained what was going to happen and said it would be painless and id be out in an hour. I don't like injections AT ALL but it was no different than a shot in the arm. Got the shot, waited for numbness to set in and started procedure. You'll here things that may be discomfiting but you aint feeling anything (pain wise) during the process and before you know it he's done! I have a better understanding, and feeling for visits like this...i feel more relieved now about dental work such as this root canal. Check out this practice and you'll likely feel the same as i do. I recently needed to get a last minute root canal, and my dentist sent me to Golden State Endodontics to see Dr. Cohen. Like most people, my previous root canals have been very much hellish. Usually the numbing doesn't work right, things take too long, endless shots, pain, water and tooth enamel choking me as I try to breathe... etc. This was a completely different experience. Dr. Cohen was like a well seasoned pro. He was very clear about what was happening, how long it would take, and delivered on all levels. They put a plastic sheath around my tooth so I could breathe normally without anything getting into the rest of my mouth or throat, the procedure was extremely fast, I didn't feel anything unpleasant, and the conversation was entertaining. If it weren't for the fact that it was still a root canal, you could almost call the entire thing a decent time. I have never encountered this kind of professionalism when needing this kind of tooth work.
