Leaving this here as Google doesn't seem to keep honest reviews…read more 2024 Hulton Contracting did siding on my home as a subcontractor for Jaime "Jimmy" Marrero (was under the name JM Drafting & Contracting, LLC and is now under Buxmont Contractors. I do not recommend any company involved with Jimmy Marrero). At some point in our project with JMDC, Walt Hulton, president of Hulton Contracting, told us he was merging with Jimmy and "promised to finish my project." (I have text messages that say this.) Shortly after, I didn't hear from Walt's company and Jimmy did not finish the project although I had paid him 99% of the contract. Spoiler alert: We werent the only clients JMDC didnt finish the project even though they were paid to. Walt came to my house in December (Video from Ring doorbell) to tell me he had nothing to do with Jimmy anymore. Months later, I find out that Jimmy is seemingly working for Walts company. His LinkedIn says it, reviews have Jimmy's name under Hulton's company name, and I have personally talked to clients who had said they were working together (but apparently arent anymore.) I am concerned Walt came to my house to tell me he had nothing to do with Jimmy, but then seemingly hired him. Whats more concerning, I had an honest review about all of this previously, that Walt texted me (I have screen shots) that he will sue me for $250,000 if I don't take down the review. I saw another person had written a similar review about taking Hulton to small claims court (also have a screen shot of that) and so I took mine down. However, now hers is down too. I also saw another negative review that mentioned Jimmy (took a screen shot of that one as well) and that is no longer visible either. I will say Walt and his company did a great job, and Walt even came back to fix some issues that Jimmy had not addressed free of charge. Walt, I do appreciate that. I really do. What I dont understand is why you'd come to my house to say you have nothing to do with Jimmy, but then you seemingly hire him. Its strange. Its also strange that you threaten to sue me because of my review, even though we both know it was an honest and accurate review. Negative reviews are not something to threaten to take down. If you made a mistake, you are human. But you can't sue for defamation if everything I am saying is true.

There was never any daily work getting done, weeks and sometimes months would go by before the next milestone was met. To summarize, if you want to pay everything up front, to be gaslit the whole time, have material delivered from Home Depot and go weeks without progress, have to call and text your contractor daily just to get something done, and the work that is completed is below subpar, then you know who to hire. We signed a contract Nov 2023 (JMDC) for a kitchen addition (we'd provide flooring, cabinets, finishings, etc.) with the intent of starting in the spring of 2024, had minor set back which was understandable and acknowledged and August 2024 was when work started (excavated and concrete footers poured) and we were told by end of October 2024 work would be completed. In October we signed a new contract with his new company name (Buxmont). No further work was done until the last week of October when cinderblocks were finally installed. Due to being told a finish date of October we ordered our cabinets and they sat in our house boxed up for over a year. By Nov 2024, $54,000 was paid with only cinder block to show for it. He asks for more and more money without any work to show for it, we now know that is a huge red flag and besides maybe a deposit, the work gets done then they get paid. In Dec, and then finished in January was subfloor, insulation and plywood. Mid January one wall framed. Jimmy discovered tie-in issue, demolished part of our bathroom (this could have been avoided and was yet again a delay and more money) he started bathroom tile demo Jan 16 2025. Bathroom tile didn't get finished until March. From Jan til March we had leaks in our existing kitchen and water damage, plus the work that did get done was exposed to the elements. Mid March wall framing finally continued and a tarp was placed over the subfloor. In April we hired an attorney and sent a formal letter outlining contract breaches, delays, and HICPA violations, requiring completion by June 15, 2025, which Jimmy agreed in writing. Work was done a total of 4 days in the month of April : plywood on walls and beginning of roof framing. Then more delays and the wrong windows and door were delivered. Roof didn't get shingled until June. Aug 19, 2025: Siding installed, which mismatched color and size despite contract stating it would match what existed. End of August the windows and door were installed and a deck was partially framed. We didn't see him or work done again until October, when the wall between addition and existing house was finally demoed; significant water damage and mold was found on our existing kitchen cabinets. The support beam that was installed, was not according to the permit and disrupted the kitchen layout, cutting into planned cabinet area. Beam and ceiling framing was unlevel. We had finally had enough and I was fortunate to have had a family friend help us out. We had the township inspector come out as a courtesy so we knew what had to be fixed and mostly everything needed to be redone. Jimmy didn't include the required crawl space, he didn't install the floor joists correctly, our dryer vent from the basement was not redirected outside and was instead feeding back into the kitchen, you could see daylight through the roof, the deck was improperly framed, the ceiling support beam had to be raised. We had to rip up the flooring that was now warped due to being exposed to the outside for months, and throw out all the insulation because it was wet and moldy. We had to pay what we already paid Jimmy to finish the job that he couldn't. Thankfully in two months (when we had a real contractor and reliable workers) the job was finally completed despite having to go backwards first in order to move forward.

They hired…read morequality first to come out and cut all the water damage out of my home and I was so happy with their work and how respectful of my home they were that I hired them to paint and patch and put my house back together instead of hiring different contractors to do different things and I am so disappointed with the job they did. They got paint on my kitchen sink, poured paint down the drain in the kitchen sink. My tub, sink and fixtures in the bathroom have paint specks that won't come out and my brand new oven has paint on it. They borrowed my hair blower and it has paint on it. They didn't prime me radiator covers before painting and the old paint is coming through. They also got paint on my coat that won't come out. DO NOT HIRE THEM TO DO ANYTHING BUT RIP THINGS APART BECAUSE HE DOES NOT HAVE ONE PROFESSIONAL PAINTER OR CARPENTER ON HIS TEAM!!! I could post more pictures but you get the idea. I do love the floor they put in the kitchen but they aren't worth the headache. Lou kept bragging about how much he spent on the paint and I kept reminding him that I paid for the paint and it doesn't matter if you get the best paint in the world if the people using it don't know how to paint.

I got a number of bids to have my new home's chimneys re-crowned as well as having a new cap installed on one of them. What ended up making me choose to have SHCS complete this work for me was how quickly my quote request was returned, the honesty in Bob's answers to all my questions. I contacted Bob in late December and he explained the work couldn't be done till spring but that he'd take a look at my chimneys and get me a quote, which he did immediately. When I agreed to have him do the work he scheduled me for spring and as soon as it was warm enough I got a call to schedule the work. He explained the weather looked clear for the coming Tuesday which worked well for us so I agreed. He than showed up on Friday the week before and completed the work because the weather was nicer than expected. Who can complain about quicker service?!?!? All that said, the thing that really pushed me to a 5 star review the most was the emails I got immediately following the work as well as a call confirming the work was completed. But the email really did it for me, it included my work order and before and after photos of the work. That is one of those little things that makes a huge difference to me and honestly Bob was already pretty set for 5 stars before the email. Finally no more leaky chimney that the previous owners neglected. TL;DR - fantastic service, ideal pricing and before and after photos emailed as promptly as possible.
