I found the building modern, clean, and laid out in a way that made navigation straightforward once I was inside, which is not something every convention center of this scale manages consistently. The main floor is large enough to handle substantial expos and trade shows without feeling compressed, and the configuration adapts well to different event types. I have seen the venue host everything from Comic Con and car shows to cheer competitions, volleyball tournaments, flight simulation expos, and oddities markets, and the flexibility of the space is a genuine operational strength. Restrooms are well placed throughout the building, and cleanliness was consistently maintained even during the high attendance event I attended. Staff were helpful and visible, which mattered when I was navigating a large event for the first time. The downtown Providence location works in the venue's favor for most visitors. Hotels are walkable, local restaurants are accessible, and the surrounding neighborhood is well maintained. Getting into the parking garage can be confusing given the highway interchanges nearby, so arriving with that in mind and allowing a few extra minutes is sensible. After competing, we would all walk over to do some shopping. The convention center itself is pretty large, I'd say. I definitely have gotten lost a few times when trying to find the right rooms to go to. I always enjoyed going to events here. Very spacious and never had any issues. For parking, there are street parking spots, which I prefer since it avoids the parking garage fee but parking garage is always convenient.

The Pawtucket Armory is a historic armory building at 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket. I wish they had a parking garage built close to it, so people can enjoy the venue and focus on the event, instead of having to deal with parking. One of the major works of William R. Walker & Son, this building was built in 1894-5. Built of red brick with granite and limestone trim, it has a distinctive main block, with crenellated towers at the corners, and is prominently sited near Pawtucket's central business district. From 2005 to 2010, the armory housed the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts. It is currently home to the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Every holiday season, they have their Holiday Crafts show that draws hundreds. The armory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

I was here for the first time during the RI Brew Fest. The large interior allowed for many vendors and partons alike. The one drawback is the facilities - bathrooms are an issue here, so with large crowds, that presents quite a problem. We looked at hundreds of B&Bs and wedding and rehearsal dinner venues in Newport. We spoke with a wedding planner who was already booked for our event and she suggested we stop by and take a look at a recently renovated mansion turned B&B. We drove up to the Villa and our jaws dropped. And then when we walked in and saw the place, and I fell head over heals in love with the place. I imagined myself walking down the grand staircase into the light filled stunning atrium. We rented all of the rooms for a very fair price and had access to the entire Villa, and we hosted our rehearsal dinner/party there night before the wedding. My family and friends took the most stunning photos at our rehearsal dinner and at the Villa. It is a majestic place and photographs like a Town and Country magazine shoot backdrop. It is stunning! I can't include enough fabulous accolades about the venue and Corinna. I'm a New Yorker with very high standards. Corinna far exceeded all of my expectations. First of all, the pictures on the website don't even do the venue justice. It is an elegant, mansion designed and decorated by the equivalent of a NYC top designer. The space feels majestic and like you are actually staying in a Newport mansion with modern artistic detailing. Many of the other venues we were considering were beautiful, but they felt dated, small and dark. We rented all of the rooms and had access to the entire Villa our wedding weekend. I sipped tea in the library and caught up with family members. We drank complimentary champaign in crystal flutes while meeting with another wedding vendor to discuss final details. We enjoyed fabulously prepared breakfasts at a grand table with our bridal party in the dining room with its soaring ceilings and huge windows. My now husband and I took walks through the meticulously manicured English garden and sat next to the fountain when we wanted to get away for a quiet moment. When I got ready for my wedding I felt like royalty. These rooms are far more stunning than even the top hotels charging 4 times the price, and they photograph much better. The rooms are beautifully decorated with huge bay windows and high ceilings. I planned my wedding around the desire for beautiful photographs, and this venue photographs beautifully. Even the pictures taken by friends and family were truly stunning. I cannot recommend this place enough. I suggest you stop by and meet Corinna. The only thing I imagine you will have to worry about is availability. Her pricing is also very far. You will get far more than you pay for. It's in the details. Corinna does not "nickel and dime" you. She has a passion for what she does and she does it superbly. I felt like I was living a fairytale life that weekend, and it had a lot to do with all the behind the scenes work Corinna tended to. I could probably write pages with details from our stay at the Villa, but I suggest you just stop by and meet Corinna and you will see what I'm trying to relay in this review. You may fall in love with the space as we did and want to book the place for that, but you will also have access to one of the best wedding planners you could think of without having to pay for it. I wanted to buy some, but was unable to get to the store in Newport while it was opened. Probably can look on the internet, but I think it's pretty expensive. Great space, beautiful wood floors, the heat works, beautiful views, the house is right on the property of the bird sanctuary and right next to the gift shop.
