First of all, their venue and rules, we respect that, but we find them rude and condescending. We frequently visit many farmers' markets and always take out three small French Bulldogs. This is the first time in years we've been kicked out of one. We drove there from Boston today for the first time, and heard great things about the place and the farmers' market. As we entered the gate, a banner with a picture of dogs was displayed. We drove on the grass and parked at the rear of the farmers' market. We unloaded our dogs. As we walked through the rear corner of the market, the first vendor sold dog treats and toys. We were browsing around, I was minding the dogs while my wife was looking at vegetables. The owner came over and was very rude and condescending, telling me they do not allow dogs, and proceeded to insist that I was a moron for not seeing a sign that said no dogs allowed. However, all I could see was the rear of the sign, and we had not entered the market that way. We promptly left as asked, again, at their place, their rules. I don't have an issue with that; my problem was with the delivery of the message. My wife and I could have sworn that when we looked at the website months ago, we saw that they welcome dogs, but after revisiting the FAQ page, it is clear that they do not. Gorgeous bucolic venue for an outdoor celebration (e.g. graduation, retirement, or for this occasion, a wedding reception)! What can be better than being right by the water with magnificent views of the surf. shoreline, and the Mt. Hope Bay bridge? Couple this with excellent service and amenities such as the sturdy and attractive outdoor tents, sitting areas, and table settings (glamping for sure) - plus a very good catering service that Mount Hope Farm provides - and you are all set for an enjoyable and festive event. My entree for the evening was a "Tuscan filet", a tender hunk of beef with a savory parmesan crust and red wine pan sauce. My wife had a vegetarian rollatini compising of roasted eggplant strips filled with quinoa, pine nuts, mushrooms, and a roasted tomato coulis. Hopefully, your event will be as balmy and bright as we were lucky to have, but I think whether the weather is sunny or squally, the views will be well worth it. read more

On a busy holiday weekend, we were overjoyed to be able to hike through this property, accessing The bay at several spots along the way. Spacious trails, magnificent views - and FREE! Sadly many abused the leash rules and pickup after your dog rule (bags are provided), which is depressing - don't people realize what a privilege this is? We heard the farmers market is terrific too, but this bay front property is special and we were thrilled to be able to share. read more

I've attended 4 test kitchen dinners lately. 5 course meals small petite meals . Excellent presentation by Russell Morin catering on all areas . Great way to meet local people. You can get some friends together and get a table or share a table with others and become fast friends . It's great to meet people over a delicious meal. The farm is a great venue for a wedding or any function . On Saturdays in the winter months they hold a farmers market from 9 to 12:30 . I've been to that as well and it's amazing what your able to get in winter. Fresh eggs , seafood, homemade ice cream. Loved every minute of going through the barn. Homemade soaps, pottery, etc. It's a great way to spend the morning. read more

I was a teacher for adults with developmental and physical disabilities. My organization had a verbal agreement with Mount Hope Farm that we could use one of their function rooms to work with our participants on art projects for 2 hours per week. This arrangement had been going on for 1 1/2 years. Then over the later part of that year we were told we had to pay a fee to use the room. We were told that the president of Mount Hope Farm, Gina Macdonald, required anyone using the room had to pay an annual fee. I worked for a non profit organization with a shoestring budget. We did not have the funds to pay the fee. We were told that our clients could use the room upstairs (there was no elevator, only stairs) for an hour knowing full well that we had a client that uses a walker and another client that is blind. We explained that our clients could not ambulate upstairs and we were told that we either had to pay or not use the room. Despite our distasteful encounter with the president of MHF, our organization scraped up the amount requested because it was an important part of our client's week. We went for a couple weeks but discontinued going after our clients stated that they were uncomfortable and felt unwanted. At the time of this occurrence, the mission statement on Mount Hope Farms's website said that they were all-inclusive to all walks of life. We did not feel welcomed nor looked upon favorably by the president. Everyone we met prior was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately our organization is no longer operating because of COVID-19. I feel like in honor of our amazing organization and talented clients, I must share this most disgusting display of discrimination toward people with disabilities and our non profit organization. read more

I had the opportunity to enjoy the market, which was wonderful! The grounds and walking trails was what really took my breath away. Quiet oasis along the shore. Wonderful afternoon - a stop not to be missed. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to stay at the inn; but I would dream to have an event in the cabin. My husband and I partnered with MHF and Russell Morin Catering for our ceremony and wedding. To say that they made the process as easy as possible, would be a severe understatement. It was EASIER than I ever thought. When I needed to reach out with concerns or questions, the team (particularly our amazing coordinator, Lynell) always took our concerns and questions upon themselves to find the solutions and not simply provide answers. The entire venue saved us a bunch of money on decor because the scenery is so picturesque-- it doesn't take much to make this look impressive. absolutely stunning grounds with views of the bay, the mount hope bridge and some trails to walk. there are also some cliffs if you venture out far enough, and a beautiful beach, although rocky, which looks like it will be nice this summer.. cove cabin is a small building which looks like it is used for receptions and other events. very beautiful, overlooking the bay and at the edge of the woods. a very peaceful, scenic place... read more

Mount Hope Farm offers a little peace and quiet just outside of Bristol's harbor. There's really only one trail here and if you take it to the end and back it's about 2 miles of paved path, but the views out to the Mount Hope Bridge and the bay are nice and there are moments where it feels like you're alone in the woods. There's also a nice little pond at the start of the trail. read more

We had a great time staying in the North Pasture House and enjoying the natural beauty of the farm, in addition to all of the wonderful activities (visiting the adorable baby goats, stopping by the farmer's market for the yummy homebaked pie!) Our lodging at the North Pasture house was excellent - very clean, beautiful and interesting historical house with plenty of open space and accommodations. Mount Hope Farm was our venue for the ceremony and reception at the Cove Cabin. Absolutely picturesque; we were blessed with a beautiful day and the sunset was spectacular. Melanie and Jennifer were wonderful to correspond with and we love that they are nonprofit, have a farmers market year-round, 4H programs for kids. The entire property is rustic with an old colonial New England farm feel and then you have the ocean right there! Our guests raved about the property and our setting for the wedding. read more

Amazing! Was traveling with my 2 year old son and my parents (85 and 75) visiting from Australia. The grounds are stunning, the rooms comfortable and the staff are very personable. We booked the pool house and had rooms on either side. We were all able to sit outside and watch the geese and the various fauna while the sun set. My son could run around in the open fields like a mad man without any of us worrying about him hurting himself. On the property there are swans, chickens, ducks, rabbits, squirrels, sheep and lots of bird life. Only note I have is that once we'd checked in our rooms were not checked on again in terms of towels or room items. The rooms were not cleaned during our stay but as we were only there for two nights so it didn't matter. All in all it was idyllic and we fell in love with the place. read more
