I attended a wedding here with my bf earlier in June so this review is about the venue and the facilities. 3.5 stars. We didn't stay overnight at the hotel, they required a 2 night stay and we were only there for 1 night. It was an outdoor wedding, in the waterfront pavilion right next to the water. The ceremony and the dinner took place at the same location. It was a colder June day, so they had to close up the canopy, with these transparent shades. I recommend heated outdoor lamps which some outdoor dining places use in weathers like this! The outdoor canopy area does not have a bathroom for wedding goers and I believe that was one of the biggest cons, because if it rained (which it didn't), we would all have to go in the water (jk) or the nearest bathroom which was located a walk away - back into one of the buildings, around a 5 min walk. I believe they had exact number of seats during the ceremony, short walk for the bride to walk up to the podium. Pretty cute, but tightly seated. I remember lamb chops (which I didn't get to try!) and a burger bar, along with the charcuterie board contents for the cocktail hour. Burger bar was very creative. We had an open bar throughout the whole ceremony.

Came here to visit the Salt Micro Spa. It was super cute. I appreciate having the private bathroom in the treatment room. Plenty of parking in lot or close by on street. Views were gorgeous. .

This place is THE most absurdly managed hotel I've experienced in the last five (5) years in terms of guest parking. We pay a premium to stay in Room 403 a supposed premium suite elevated above two (2) parking spaces. Problem is that those two spaces are unusable and the hotel gives parking privileges to other rooms but not this supposed suite they rented to us for around $375/night. Undoubtedly, the hotel is merely sharing parking spaces as the common area of what is actually a strip mall. There are parking spaces for other businesses including construction equipment and milk delivery guys. But the only logical inference to make of the parking situation and how managers deal with it is that apparently the hotel actually has no authority to provide parking for guests other than a couple of suites. They surely don't tell guests of this situation if this is the fact. Bottom line: DONT RENT ROOM 403 because it has no assigned parking and the bar patrons are rowdy until 12-2am and they like to congregate directly below the room, the milkman has no qualms about banging on the building at 3am and cursing guests to their face about having access to the storage area beneath the room, and the management exhibits a could not care less attitude about the parking needs for guests of this suite. It's not worth a penny over $75/night as the treatment is more akin to any random Motel 6 than it is a premium or even low-end average hotel.

Living room was tastefully decorated with modern LED lighting with contemporary furnishings, while still maintaining a beach motif

I booked this hotel twice so I could stay in the area to deal with some family business. I could not have been happier with this hotel. The location is absolutely amazing. You can walk to all that Bristol has to offer. The check in and out was super efficient, and the two different rooms I booked were recently and tastefully renovated. I do see some older, less favorable reviews. However, it's obvious that major renovations had taken place. The king beds were very comfortable, and the linens were high quality. The floor-through suite I had booked even had an Electrolux washer and dryer. The staff is very friendly, and suites even come with reserved parking spaces. I cannot wait to return.

You're within walking distance of so much, which makes exploring the city incredibly easy. That said, I found the hotel to be overpriced for what it offers. It has a charming boutique feel, but the accommodations and overall experience didn't quite justify the seasonal rates. At times, the staff was warm and welcoming, while other interactions felt less hospitable, so the service was a bit inconsistent. If location is your top priority, this hotel is certainly convenient. However, if you're looking for overall value, I think there are other options in Newport that offer a more complete experience for the price. Overall stay somewhere else.

It's a great spot for a drink especially in the summer time. Our recent visit on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, was not great. Despite it being a warm summer evening around 8 PM on a Wednesday, we were turned away because one person in our party wore a t-shirt instead of a collared shirt. For a midweek outing in August, that felt unnecessarily rigid and to be honest a little too pretentious. Although we can understand enforcing dress codes on weekend nights this seemed out of touch. We ended up at Thames Street Kitchen and Audette instead, both of which did not have strict dress codes. The Studio Bar at the Gardiner House still makes great cocktails, but the hospitality needs to match.

Relatively clean for the price point and an adequate breakfast with good coffee. The first day they failed to service the room at all. I don't mind reusing the towels but the room was so damp they did not dry. So off to the desk where a flustered desk clerk scrounged clean towels from the laundry room. The second day they serviced the room (we specifically requested it), but we arrived back in the room at 10 pm to find they had taken away the dirty towels but not left clean bath towels. The front desk clerk, nearly in tears, explained she only had one clean towel and gave it to us. I went to the laundry room myself and scrounged some clean bath mats to use at towels. Indeed at ten am the third day when we left the hotel, we asked and were told that the towels "were still in the dryer." In what world is it acceptable for even a budget hotel to leave guests with NO bath towels? This was a failure on the part of the housekeeping manager to have appropriate systems in place and be sure they are followed. And someone should have stayed late to finish the load of towels. And the hotel should always have 50-100 spare towels. Terrible customer service. Worst of all, when we arrived, we found a pair of men's underwear that did not belong to us in the floor of the closet. And the hotel had some unsightliness. A second floor room that was storage for spare furniture had no window covering and the light was left on, so it looked like a junked up mess visible to all at night. Also the curtains in the laundry room were tied off in a knit and similarly visible to anyone outside the hotel. And dehumidifiers in the first floor hallways. All this implies a hotel badly in need of maintenance and an overhaul in management. Not what we expect of IHG properties. We come to this area regularly to visit family, but we will never stay here again.

The Bohlin is an impressive location and I was glad to experience an event there. Was not at all impressed with the service, ever, especially for a special event venue catering largely to weddings where service is everything. To be clear, it was a brunch buffet, not a sit down meal. That said, it was Mother's Day. Tables were set beautifully. Server brought us water, nothing else. If we wanted a cocktail, we had to stand at the bar and get it ourselves. Coffee after lunch? Ditto. Brunches have multiple courses. We should have been given clean cutlery in exchange for the removal of a plate instead of being forced to lay dirty cutlery on a clean ivory tablecloth and then reuse them, again and again. That part was a total turnoff and not encouraging for anyone considering it as a future event venue. The food offering was varied and generally a success. The bacon was delicious and good quality. The frittata bites were a good and elegant option to the usual chafing dish full of scrambled eggs. Kudos to the chef for the beef sirloin although at $95 a head, one might have expected a carving station over sliced beef steaks piled into a chafing dish that just dried out the beef over time. The accompanying horseradish cream was quite good. Everyone seemed to really love the raw bar and raclette station. The desserts were well curated , not just slabs of sweets on the table. The pasta dishes? Meh. The cacio e pepe was nothing more than a runny version of the mac and cheese from the kids table with some pancetta or proscuitto specks in it. Fairly tasteless. Location was wonderful but at that likely price point for a private event, I thought the experience was mediocre. Looking forward to going back to Castle Hill instead.
