Also the simple yet elegant exposed beam design inside the building has so much character yet leaves room for couples to add to the space to integrate their own personal style into their wedding day. The weddings I have been able to photograph here seem to all have a comfortable relaxed atmosphere as couples and their wedding guests feel immediately at home at the Meeting House. The Meeting House staff is always pleasant and eager to help both vendors navigate throughout the space as well as couples to ensure the day runs soothly and effortlessly on the newlyweds part. I am eager to work here again in the 2015 wedding season. The mansion is a great place for events and meetings and can be rented out as well as the grounds. It is unique in that there are so many original pieces of the history of Rhode Island there. You can visit and see where the two Governor William Sprague's of Rhode Island lived. The Sprague family started a large textile company right next door to the home and it remains there today. The Cranston historical society holds its meetings there and it is owned by the society. You can take a tour at certain times or by appointment and they have a gift shop as well as an incredible library of resources of the history of Rhode Island.

Tables and chairs can be set up in the living room with fireplace. You can use the adjoining antique filled dining room with a large table for your food and drinks. Mary is one of the caretakers of the mansion. She was easy to reach by phone, arranged a tour of the mansion, and answered many questions. She was very helpful and accommodating from the first phone call till the end of the event!

The event is free and open to the public, registration not required. There was a sign on Westminster Street indicating the entrance. The Pavilion at Grace Church exhibited iconic photographs taken by the late Life Magazine photographer David Lees that document the flood in Florence in 1966 and the Providence Journal photos of downtown Providence after Hurricane Carol in 1954. The photographs were dramatic and memorable of each city underwater. There were plenty of space to walk around and take in the photos.
