The absolute best storage facility in the world. Reasonable rates, great location and the staff (Including the owner Michael, could not be more friendly and professional. They offer some additional services for selling your unwanted goods which I find unmatched with any other. The security is 5 star as well and they don't make you feel like you are storing your Belongings in the backyard of their personal residence. Have had experience with that where the woman was literally bouncing around the entire time I was there checking on things and being a bit too perky. Found out later things were disappearing from my storage unit and ending up in her utility closet! I also LOVE that the gate remains open all day until 7 pm when it is hand closed by someone. I have really had some bad experiences with place like Storquest and Public Storage. If you are currently with either one, just be aware and don't assume anything. Watch for door hinges LOCATED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR and for FRESHLY SPACKLED HINGE AREAS ON THE OUTSIDE AS WELL. especially the small hinges that are located on smaller doors such as WINE STORAGES. Marinship Self Storage is hands down the best storage facility I have ever used. After many headaches and nightmares with Public Storage I switched to Marinship about 6 months ago. The facility is spotless and well cared for. It's very secure. And the manager is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. They will go out of their way to make your experience the best. The team there is completely on top of things, allows for flexibility with your storage solution, is always willing to literally lend a hand, and are proactive and fair. It's just nice to know that I don't have to worry about anything, and don't feel scammed all of the time like I did with Public Storage. Also, the rates are completely reasonable compared to other storage facilities in the area, and for what you get I think it is well worth it. Marinship self storage has worked out to be a real asset to living in Sausalito. I reside in a floating home and the 40 foot container has become my storage unit on land while I live on the water. Michael the onsite manager is great to work with. The facility is run very professionally. The grounds are clean, safe, well organized and easily accessible. if there is ever and issue or problem you can depend upon Michael or Chris to address the issue immediately and resolve it in an expedient manner. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would recommend Marinship Storage to anyone as a 10. I have send numerous friends of mine to Michael for a storage unit. I actually had to wait a year to get a unit because of demand and the reputation that Marinship storage has for being well organized, professional and clean. I am glad I made the wait. Best service I've ever had with a storage facility. I had very specific needs to accommodate a couple large items and Mike went out of his way to get me the unit I needed as soon as a spot opened up. If you've ever hunted for large storage units in Marin, you know they're impossible to come by, especially at peak season. Mike was diligent following up with me while I waited for that hard-to-find spot, and put me in touch with some folks to help me with moving a large item on short notice. By far the best storage facility in the Bay Area. Professional, courteous, helpful. NOTEWORTHY: Access to facility is a dream...no annoying gates to tackle or worries of forgotten codes. Accessibility to units is excellent - outside storage and Inside storage - 2 story building with a wide ramp as well as stairs to access the 2nd floor. Nice wide carts with (SIDES TO KEEP YOUR STUFF FROM SLIDING OFF!) as well as regular dollies etc. No elevator - better for your health. Incredible experience. I had lost my Mom a few months ago and, through emotional torment, I had entirely too many things shipped from Michigan to me in Mill Valley, and was desperate for storage. I called Michael at Marinship and he was incredibly helpful in helping me determine the storage I needed. Once I arrived with the 15 foot moving van stock full of items, Michael happily and skillfully unpacked from the truck and stacked the dozens and dozens of boxes with a wicked sense of puzzle mastery. I had a great experience renting a unit. Many great choices and did walk through to several units to find what will work best for me. There was an online deal that helped me decide to rent here than other storage unit places. Great help from the manager Michael as we toured the units and filled out easy paper work that took no longer than 10 min and move in right away. Big plus is I am able to drive right up to my unit. It's a 5x8 and has shelf. Big bonus as stacking is challenging to top of unit and things can get crushed. Love location, the help I received and easy access. Perfect in every way!! read more

We just moved our new Airstream to Marinship, and could not be more grateful for the service we received. I showed up an hour and a half past closing time after a long stressful trip with the trailer, and the manager Michael helped me back it into the spot with infinite patience and positivity. I have been storing my RV here for over 6 months and have had a wonderful experience. Not only is this storage place close to my home, which is essential, it is safe and the management is great to work with. I have my own key and can come and go as I please. I have met other RV and boat owners and they are super friendly and trustworthy. I began my contract with an internet special which offered significant savings for 3 months.
