I was glad to find this little Italian spot in Kendall as it's close to my house and a nice little date spot. I really liked the ambiance. We only had 2 dishes and both were good- my only issue was my risotto. I'm a huge risotto fan and expected it to be delicious considering this is an authentic Italian restaurant but honestly I would not get it again. The flavor was good but the risotto was NOT cooked properly. The rice was hard and it made it very difficult to enjoy. I was hopeful to have found a nice spot near my house for my occasional risotto fix but won't be back for that. Otherwise everything else was good. I have to say that the Italian sub "No es ni la chancleta de Mike's". Neither the bread nor the dressing were to my liking (my husband is a chef, so I can be pretty critical when I don't like something). I was craving some fast and delicious pizza this week!! This place was recommended by a friend of mine who assured me the pizza was worth the order and she was correct!! I decided to order a pizza and salad this past Monday. Due to our current shelter in place situation I ordered delivery. Order was placed on Uber eats (free delivery but I opted to donate $5 to the restaurant in the app) and delivered fresh and fast. Pizza was warm and ready to eat upon arrival. Good size large pie with 8 big slices. I got mushroom and green pepper as my toppings and they tasted fresh as well. Crust was crisp and chewy,, the perfect combo in my opinion. Garden salad was also a large and was fresh and crisp, as it came with romaine lettuce, tomato, onion and black olives. Has beautiful decor and smells great! Service was good but the food it's self wasn't up to par for an Italian restaurant. Nothing that we ordered was worth it! Always enjoy my visits to Marinos. Went in Sunday with a party of six to celebrate a birthday. Pizza, Linguini Vongole, Chicken Marsala were a few of the tasty well seasoned items we sampled. One of our party was a vegan who was easily accommodated. A nice bottle of wine and some beers rounded out the meal. Massimo took very good care of us. Polite and professional. I used to come here often and would recommend the place to friends and family because I loved the food and the service SO MUCH, I tried almost everything on their menu! My favorite calamari and lobster bisque were served at Marino's and I cannot tell you how often I used to order them. Unfortunately as of very recent the quality of the food has changed. Sadly, the calamari I ordered last night looked like fried onion rings. The lobster bisque tasted like straight milk and alcohol. I felt sick afterwards, I couldn't even finish it. My mother also ordered a lobster bisque and could barely finish it because it tasted nothing like it used to... So disappointing. I mentioned it to my best friend who also happens to love this place and has gone twice in the last month. She also told me that after ordering the lobster bisque she got sick, unfortunately hers was worse than mine and she was in bed for 3 days straight with a tummy ache. Now, through the quarantine we've order almost weekly (the lasagna is to die!). So we decided to order a family size one for Father's Day. We were going to be to but we ordered for 15 just in case. Great italian food. When in miami it will be my to go to place for casual lunch/dining. Food is super fresh. The bruschetta was amazing, nicely riped tomatoes and well seasoned. Their garlic rolls are nicely baked and drenched in garlic. I ordered a side or marinara and I have to say it is one of the best marinara sauce I had. I ordered the spaghetti booognese. Meh.... it was just ok. Came here on a Friday evening with the fam and ordered 2 pies. Wait time for the food was reasonable. Price was decent. Service was icy. No smile, very short with us, and my third eye sensed a bitter tude'. The pies were ok, but everyone agreed that they lacked flavor. The sauce was not very flavorful. The dough was good, and the crust was yummy but overall this pizza just didn't really stand out. I ordered takeout looking at the prices below that are on google. They charged me $26 for a XL pizza and $13 for a stromboli. When online it's $16 for the pizza and $9 for the stromboli. THAT A BIG DIFFERENCE. When I speak to the manager Luis he tells me it's father's day and they're busy and those are the prices and he can't fix it that ownership won't allow that change. If ownership truly won't allow it ownership needs to understand you can't falsify prices and charge customers a different price when they come in.
