It had been a while since I last visited, and I didn't think this place could get any better but it did! I used to come here pretty often in high school, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much they've remodeled and improved over the years. As for the food, I've always loved it here and would recommend coming back again and again until you've tried everything on the menu! This time, I got a slice of pizza and garlic rolls for myself, both delicious as always, but what really impressed me was how amazing their steamed veggies were! My son loves vegetables, and it's rare to find veggies this good when dining out. If they put this much care into their veggies, imagine how incredible their main dishes must be! Service was a bit slow, but they were very busy, so I didn't mind. The servers were so kind with my son and made sure to communicate any delays. Overall, I had a wonderful time. My friend and I were the ONLY ones in the restaurant on an early Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was initially attentive, but then took her lunch break when our food arrived and didn't ask us how it was. She also would come to refill my friend's drink and bit mine, would only make eye contact with her, and only thanked her after we paid separately. She seemed to think that because we were a stingy interracial couple because we were splitting a meal and that we were not going to tip. She proceeds to talk to two other ladies at the hostess stand for a long period of time when we were waiting for her to come back to the table to ask if we needed to-go boxes and if we had enjoyed our meal. And again, as we were leaving, they only told my non-Black friend thank you/goodbye and not me despite her staring at me as I walked out. Will not be back again!! read more

The ambiance was good, but the food and service leaves a lot to be desired. The bruschetta was tasteless and was just a bunch of cut-up tomatoes floating in oil. The penne chicken with broccoli was dry and not good. The lobster bisque and rolls were decent. We sent back the bruschetta and they still charged us for it although we did not eat it. The worst part of our experience was our server Patricia. She's rude, not attentive and didn't check-in on us. The restaurant was less than half full and we had to take the bill up, since she didn't come to get our credit card. When I asked, she said she was not allowed to take out the returned food unless she called the manager, Mercy, who was not there. The experience was negative and I would not return there or recommend it to anyone. I've been going there for more than 20 years, but the place has changed a lot. Sad, since it used to be so good. Fantastic local family gem located in a strip mall. Ambiance was quaint and cozy with a touch of modern. Loved the fact they have a large seafood selection. Their prices are very affordable and the service was outstanding at the bar. For men- they have TVs with sports on and women- they have a wine list to enjoy wish they had more selections though. My first time at Marino's was almost 20 years ago. I don't remember being blown away or the pizza leave a long lasting impression. It was good but not over the top. However, that changed tonight! W O W! Although the prices are a bit steep, I don't mind paying a little more for good quality. I was worried it would be over priced and mediocre BUT it was the total opposite. The pizza was driving us crazy all the way home. You could smell the freshness of the pie. The basil, the sausage, the tomatoes. We were all dying to pull over and dig in! We also ordered a dozen garlic rolls and although they mistakenly gave them to us without the garlic oil smothered all over them. I went back and the young lady at the register apologized and was kind enough to give me a few to-go containers of the oil and parmesan cheese. As soon as we got in the car, we added all that deliciousness over the garlic rolls and gave the bag a shake and OH MY GOSH! Amazing! Those rolls were really something else. I couldn't stop eating them. Neither could my husband or daughter. Once we got home, we "attacked" the wings and pizza. First things first, that pizza is unforgettable. I think I will not forget the flavors any time soon...lol I can understand why we paid $25 bucks for a pie! Everything tasted so fresh. Like farm-to-table fresh. That's how good it was. The wings were also a hit. Loved that they were bursting with flavor but not greasy. We had them with bleu cheese and buffalo sauce. Very good! I know life's not perfect, and maybe that's why this restaurant is still open, but I have to say it needs a little TLC. Their food is good, but not to make me come back. Especially since the last few times I've been there we get wet from air conditioning condensation. And this is in different tables, so it's not just one spot. Additionally, I think their prices are a little high for the quality. $3 extra dollars for pink sauce ?????? Also , The crème brûlée came in a dish that was so small we thought it was from the kids menu-$9.... just to name a few. I understand that prices are higher everywhere now , and I have no problem if the overall quality and service is commensurate . That's not been the case here lately. Flavor and consistency of soup were perfect. Garlic rolls were mediocre, the only thing I didn't really enjoy. Also ordered 2 veal parmigiana with side pastas. 7.5-8/10 being harsh with my ratings. Been coming here for over 25 years with great food and great service. The last 3 times we've come (even on a weekday) the service has been terrible. 630 on a Monday, only 6 people in restaurant and we've waited over 30 min for garlic bread and over an hour for 1 pizza. On June 3rd there were 9 of us that went to the restaurant where we were told we would be in a private room, but we weren't. It was an hour and 15 minutes before we got water and rolls which were cold. It was another half hour before 6 of us got our salad. I had to go ask the manager for the other 3. Some people said their meals were good; others said the meals were just ok. There were no condiments on the table that I had to go ask for. The manager never came to the table or apologized. The staff was very attentive and I felt they were doing their best to make me feel welcome by at least a couple of people that worked there. The quality of food was awesome, the portions very generous and taste was not compromised after the long drive. Here is what I ordered and some remarks: - La Burrata (great salad with cheese, arugula and cherry tomatoes. It comes with olive oil and a thick balsamic vinegar) - Pasta Fagioli (not really a pasta, but a navy bean soup with tubettini pasta) - Chicken Marsala with Spaghetti (two people ate from this since the chicken breast was butterflied with creamy mushrooms sauce) - 2 burgers from kids menu (wow not kids size, regular. It came with fries, soda and a couple of vanilla ice creams) - Lastly, a Calzone (ricotta cheese, mozzarella and ham) I have to say that each item was worthy of repeat. I have been coming to Marino's for approximately 15 years. I decided to bring my staff to celebrate the holidays and enjoy a genuine and authentic Italian lunch. The Italian owner greeted the group as we came in. The order came out on time, even at full capacity, dishes came out on time and at the proper temperature. The seafood risotto was amazing as well as the octopus dish. It's impressive how they developed into a high-quality Italian restaurant with affordable prices. We'v been ordering from Marino's for the past 20 years. tonight we placed an order and when my wife got home with our order we were extremely disappointed.. We ordered a Spaghetti with Meatballs with a side of meatballs. First the pasta was a an extremely small portion half the size of the normal pasta we would get. The pasta was also so greasy that we had to cook pasta to eat the meatballs order of spaghetti's. Also, the sauce was also extremely greasy with extreme amount of oil. We ordered, some 10 chicken wings, the were supper dry and seem to be over cooked. They forgot our salad. I called them and they said they would allow a credit. Next time we order. We'er going to take a break from Marino. It's sad when a restaurant changes it's menu I understand the times are tough but quantity and cooking things properly is the only way a Restarant survived nowadays. I was glad to find this little Italian spot in Kendall as it's close to my house and a nice little date spot. I really liked the ambiance. We only had 2 dishes and both were good- my only issue was my risotto. I'm a huge risotto fan and expected it to be delicious considering this is an authentic Italian restaurant but honestly I would not get it again. The flavor was good but the risotto was NOT cooked properly. The rice was hard and it made it very difficult to enjoy. I was hopeful to have found a nice spot near my house for my occasional risotto fix but won't be back for that. Otherwise everything else was good. I would go again just because it's close by and the rest of the food and experience was nice. read more
