We went to Mariners for my sister's birthday.- we spent 2hrs and 30 mins there. Granted it was on a busy night, but they were exceptionally slow. We ordered appetizers and they came out decently timed, but the entrees took over an hour. We asked for refills and bread literally 6 times. At that point, it was a joke at our table. My sister waited 30 mins on a martini. The food was cold and my lobster ravioli was too salty. Brother in law had seafood plater that he couldn't finish due to the taste. We where in town right after the rebuild from the fire but they weren't open yet so we didn't get a chance to go it. It is truly one of the best restaurants we've been to in the country. Having never been to Nachitoches, we were told that Mariner's had delicious food. So I made an OpenTable reservation for the dock- hoping to have a nice dinner next to the water. Our reservation was for 6pm, and it took us 1 hour and fifteen minutes to get a simple chicken Alfredo. The waiter was terrible. Never refilled our drinks unless I went and found him. Never prebussed the table near us, nor cleared anything off the table from our salad and gumbo until the very end. And then when the food finally did arrive, it was bland and forgettable. It has been 20 years since I came here when I was a student at NSU. It has been updated and very nice. The service started out strong but as the night went on it got slower and slower. We sat down at 6:00, we ordered by 6:15 and the food literally didn't come out until 7:45 with the last person at the table getting his at 7:50. The waiter provided us with gallons of water, cocktails and our appetizers very quickly! Typically at a restaurant at this price range all dishes with the exception of one or two are served at the same time, not in a window of 10 minutes. It was homecoming weekend and the restaurant was busy with large groups but there was no excuse for the kitchen to be that far in the woods at 6pm! With that being said the food was just okay. I'll start by saying that the food is good. On the surface this place looks nice but if you look closer the place needs a deep clean. There are cobwebs and dead bugs in the rafters and windows. We were seated at one table and there were dead bugs, presumably from the spider webs overhead. We were moved to another table because the blind to block the sun was broken. This is a beautiful location and the servers are sweet and attentive. The food is nothing special and the menu should really be redone. We started with oysters they were ok. They were gulf oysters and really huge and basically too big. Then I had the shrimp and crawfish Alfredo no salad came with the main course. It was ok not great for 28 dollars. And barely had any crawfish but did have some nice shrimp in the sauce. My husband had seared tuna which he said tasted great. However, the seaweed salad it was was yuck. Would have been better served on a bed of rice and some vegetables. The bread that was served at the beginning of the meal tasted old and was hard like it had been reheated. We didn't eat it! Needless to say we really did not eat much and left unsatisfied. However, the drinks were GREAT! I had a lemon drop and my husband an old fashion. They were both perfect! Wish we had gone to a better place for our anniversary. We won't be back. Not worth the money we spent. read more

Service was amazing. It is a beautiful location. The food is just awful. No one liked anything ordered. Gumbo lacked flavor and what was there wasn't typical to a gumbo. The soft shell crab with wedge salad special turned into a soup versus salad as it was overly dressed. Key Lime pie tasted like a frozen boxed pie. The Tuna poke was also overdressed. We used to eat here often when I was in high school. Their piña colada's used to be the best I've ever had. It's been a while since I've done in there but I ate brunch with a friend. Came here yesterday with my boyfriend,all the way from Monroe and this place didn't disappoint us. Foods are fantastic, from appetizer to dessert. We ordered artichoke and spinach dip with chips, chowder soup,pan-seared duck and unicorn cheesecake. It's all worth the price. We'll definitely go back. In addition, it has a good view of the lake and the sunset which makes it more romantic.However if you don't want to stay outside, theres also inside seats and can still see the view. We had a wonderful visit to Natchitoches for the Chrismas Lights festival, until our reservations at the Mariner's. They are completely incapable of operating at the level they book. We waited for 45 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. At that point we ordered drinks and food with hopes of helping expedite the process. After another 45 minutes we finally received our drinks at which time I gave the waiter my card and to pay for drinks and cancel our food. 20 minutes later they finally return with my card, and appetizer we cancelled, and a receipt for drinks and FOOD WE NEVER RECEIVED! read more

My family has done nothing but eat and drink this trip. We come here almost every time we are in town. I was really not in the mood for a full meal so I got an appetizers a Boudin links and stuff potato. The link was really good and so was the potato. I know it is what you get sometimes, but when the oysters are so small they don't even look like they are there, I think you can shuck a new one. My friend ordered the crab cakes, and she did really enjoy them . I ordered the oysters Bienville---breadcrumbs and shrimp topped oysters . I didn't NOT like them, but I could have stopped after a few. Again, just an okay experience and maybe an off night . Loved the location on the Lake. Had a drink outside on the patio and watched the sunset. After drinks went inside for dinner. Took forever for the server to take our order. I wanted prime rib which was their special of the night but they were out of it. Ordered a shrimp pasta dish instead. Very bland and served cold. I am not sure this is the best place in town to eat but definitely worth the view. Too bad it's so pricey for carry out hole in the wall restaurant food equivalent. The most distasteful thing by far was the dirty table they sat me at. They are not busy it's a Monday and there are only 4 tables inside that are full including me at one of them. I will say that it has taken a total of 30 minutes for my food. That was order to empty plate. Food service is excellent and very fast. However, I did wait after I finished my meal without drink or food for about 10 minutes before I was approached again. Keep in mind, 4 tables. Dozens of staff. Beautiful Restaurant located right on Sibley Lake. Inside, outside and bar dining available. Boat dock available for docking and dining. The inside is nice, a bit dated but nice. The staff was friendly-ish but super snobby! We didn't realize it was the "fancy" place in town and came in for an early dinner in t-shirts and jeans. We got "looks" from most of the employees, even our server payed more attention to well dressed older couple next to us. Even once telling us we'd have to wait so she could get something they needed. What?? We ordered Fried Alligator for an appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. However, be warned the Iced Tea is not fresh brewed but like Nestea or something similar. I ordered the 8 oz Fried Catfish Plate with a Twice Baked Potato and Salad Bar. The salad bar is fantastic! Plenty of fresh items to choose from, tiny plates though. The meal came very fast and looked great. The fish was ok, nothing special considering an 8 oz. portion is $17.99. The tarter sauce was hot and possibly spoiled. The Hushpuppies were very good. The Twice Baked Potato was just awful. I only took a few bites and pushed it aside. Not only was I disappointed in the meal but even after paying $70.00 (not including tip) the server didn't even notice that we hadn't eaten our Potatoes or maybe she just didn't care if we enjoyed our meal or not. A beautiful waterfront setting and the food to match. We started out the fried calamari which was also fantastic. We loved the steaks which were cooked perfect as ordered. The salad bar had a great selection but the house made dressings were the bomb. Do try the pickled green tomatoes. The only disappointing item was the fried catfish. They were well seasoned and fried but they had that brown vein that gives the fish a "fishy taste". Oh but the hushpuppies were excellent. Apparently home made with tiny bits of onion and jalapeno and crispy fried on the outside with a soft delicious inside. You know I love them hushpuppies. My sister is a regular at this restaurant being she lives in the area and unfortunately the night we were there the service at our table was extremely slow. Which is unusual per my sister. read more
