Well seasoned . Portion sizes were adequate. Bella our server was friendly and efficient. Our visit lasted about an hour. When we left at 2pm , nearly everyone had cleared out. I got tripping grits. I love shrimp and grits other people at the table tripping grits those grits were horrible no flavor the tea. Johnny sauce was bad the shrimp that they black it and put on top good for shrimp then I got sick and tired of eating them. I ended up not eating any of it except for the shrimp.

El Patio, which had solid reviews, looked like an easy off and on from the Interstate plus there was a gas station in close proximity. It was perfect place for us to stop, stretch our legs and get a bite to eat. When we walked in the decor of the restaurant was a feast for the eyes. The chairs and tables were painted with bright colors and designs. It looks like Fiesta Time all the time. Victor, our server greeted us and took our drink orders. No margaritas, but a big glass of unsweetened iced tea was in order. A hot basket of chips and a small carafe of salsa was dropped off at our table. The salsa was good, but too mild for our tastes. The tortilla chips were very good. I decided on the #1 Lunch Special which included a Chille Relleno and a crispy beef taco. Both platters were accompanied with refried beans and rice. Wow, what a quick turnaround from the kitchen! Victor was back in a flash with our lunch entrees. Both of our lunch entrees were very enjoyable and spiced nicely. We both had happy tummies by the time we left El Patio and headed towards New Orleans. Next time we're in the area, we'll make a point of stopping in and try something new on the menu.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Mariners Restaurant. We waited an hour and a half for our steaks to come out, and although we were patient and did not complain about the delay, the situation became even more frustrating when we watched our waiter bring our steaks out twice, set them near our table without serving them, and then walk away to attend to another table while people continued walking by our food. When we finally received our food, the steaks were overcooked and cold, despite being ordered a specific way. The drinks we ordered also did not arrive until the very end of the meal. What made the experience even worse was how the situation was handled. We were not trying to get a free meal -- we simply wanted the owner to understand why we were unhappy and hoped to keep the steak that had already been returned a priority because we did not want to wait another hour and a half for another one to be prepared correctly. Unfortunately, instead of listening and trying to make things right, the owner, Keri Fidelak came across as condescending and dismissive. She even laughed at us and told us we needed to go back to where we live and we didnt belong in Natchitoches, which was insulting and unnecessary. Let me just say we are from a small town north of New Orleans that knows how to treat visitors with southern hospitality and charm. After fifteen minutes of being insulted by the owner, we paid for our meal and left. At that point, the experience had gone far beyond poor service and disappointing food. No customer should be treated with disrespect after already dealing with long wait times, cold overcooked food, and missing drinks. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

My wife and I had an outstanding dinner at Mariners Seafood Restaurant, and it truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a stunning view of the lake that made the entire experience feel special and relaxing. The service was top-notch in every way. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, with fast responses and genuine care for making our meal enjoyable. The bartender crafted our specialty drinks to absolute perfection, and the chef delivered entrées that were flawlessly prepared. Everything about the food was top-rated -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Best of all, the prices were very fair for the quality we received. We had zero complaints -- only praise! The entire team (bartender, chef, and waitress) was on point and clearly passionate about what they do. While there, we chatted with other customers who turned out to be regular guests, which spoke volumes about the loyalty this place inspires. We absolutely loved Mariners Seafood Restaurant and can't wait to return. Great location, have been in and out of there for years with my family, used to really enjoy the food but have noticed a steady dive in quality over the last few years. I'm not sure if they have a new kitchen manager or what but the food there over the past half dozen times I've visited hasn't been worth the money. Not one to complain or send food back, you hear all the horror stories of what happens with food going back with complaints, however my last visit there, my shrimp cocktail contained rotten slimy shrimp. For me, that's the last straw, our family will not be going back. There is no excuse for serving bad seafood. It's a shame that one of our families favorite places has fallen so low. read more

Very negative experience unfortunately.. seemed like a good environment and view but had to send back oysters because they were far from fresh. The worst part of my experience by far was the service. Our waiter was dismissive and obviously not engaged appearing to hate his job. Sending back the oysters, they remained on our bill and server said since each of our party of 4 ate one, it should remain. He then continued to be rude and smirked his way through the conversation but manager eventually took the oysters off our bill. Definitely one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. I do not recommend this for anyone. read more

What a dump, it's a shame the nice view hides the fact that the food here is disgusting. The experience besides the food was pleasant, wait staff was prompt, friendly, older lady really knew her stuff. The part that matters most, the food, worst fried food I have ever had. Soggy smooshy catfish, the crab cakes were frozen inside. My girlfriends food was just as bad, her fried crawfish was mostly clumps of burnt flour, the fried alligator on her" Cajun special was fried so long that it tasted like the rubber on the sole of a shoe. Didn't bother sending it back, just won't be going back. Do not recommemd. read more

We when questioned we were told they were busy because of Mothers Day but you could clearly see it was not packed but extremely busy, the lack of effort from some of the staff, poor planning, poor preparation, and poor communication from the management made this a bad day for the Mother's and their special day. After 40+ years I don't think I'll be visiting their establishment again after today....
