This review will be very detailed about my personal experience, so if it's too long, just know you're in GREAT hands and you won't regret choosing Marina Plastic Surgery!! I am so in love with my body and the confidence that came with it is unmatched!! I truly believe my recovery was so fast because of how the team preps you pre-op and post-op. My incisions are so clean and discreet, and everything looks and feels perfect! I am 3 months post op from a mommy makeover (360 lipo, tummy tuck with muscle repair, breast lift, and rib remodeling) after 2 kids and losing over 90lbs! My waist went from 39 inches pre-op to almost 31 inches post-op with the rib remodeling and gave me a very nice and natural shape! The whole staff is amazing but a VERY special shoutout to Dr. Perez, Megan, Donna, and Andrea. Now for my story! I thought weight loss would solve all my problems. But after major weight loss came all the loose skin! I couldn't see any of my hard work and would have heartbreaking insecurities every time I had to wear anything other than leggings and a big shirt. So I started browsing for the right doctor. After going to 2 different doctors, I had given up. The way I felt like just another paying client without them truly hearing me was just not okay with me. After all, I am investing into something major and I needed to feel that it would be worth it. THEN!! I stumbled across Dr. Perez and his work being featured on Athenix. His work was BEAUTIFUL and so natural. I was in contact right away and for some reason, I didn't feel like I was being pushed. I felt very calm. So I went in. Megan is the coordinator and was the first face I saw. MY GORGEOUS MEGAN! She just let me ramble on and listened to everything I had to say. And I started getting emotional and she sat there with me and comforted me. And reassured me that I DESERVE this. Megan also played a huge role over many changes and adjustments I had to make, including rescheduling my surgery by another 6 months due to personal reasons. And she never once made me feel like a burden. Always spoke to me with warmth and kindness, and made sure I was good before anything. Then I met Dr. Perez. This is someone who takes GREAT pride in his work and puts his WHOLE HEART into each and every one of his patients. He is kind, patient, soft, and LISTENS to you. He genuinely cares about how you feel and listens to all your concerns. He also lets you know when a procedure is unnecessary and wants you to feel comfortable about any decision you make. I just don't have enough words to explain how he makes you feel before, during, and after. This is someone you would want to put all your trust into for something so major and life changing! I will forever love him and I'm so proud to always say that he was the doctor I chose to give me back my confidence!! Surgery date came and went, and my post op was in the hands of Donna, the NP. The sweetest person you'll ever meet!! I absolutely adore her and her cute self. She was always cheerful even when I went in moody during recovery or wanted to complain about anything and everything. She listened to all my cranky complaining and would come up with solutions with Dr. Perez right away despite both of them being super busy and I always felt special. I have never once left my appointment with her feeling anything other than happy! She knows how to warm my heart! And shoutout to sweet Andrea, we didn't have too many appointments together but the few times we did, she always made me feel like we've been longtime friends and was always knowledgeable about any questions I had! She was also the one who came out and wheeled me in for my very first post-op and just held my hand (literally!) through it all because I was so scared to undress and see everything for the first time. I had a paid consultation scheduled and arrived on time. After waiting 90 minutes with no update from staff I left. The waiting room was full, and other patients had been waiting even longer (over two hours). There was no communication, no timeline, and no attempt to manage expectations. Delays happen, but this was chaotic, and appeared to be systemic overbooking rather than an isolated issue. For a surgical consultation, where attention to detail and patient care should be paramount, this experience was concerning to say the least. I felt I was waiting to be processed, not cared for. I sat there thinking - these are the people that would be responsible for my pre-op care, my surgery, my aftercare, and any complications that may arise during or after my procedure. And they cannot get the most basic function of the operation right. Ultimately, the consultation fee was a small price to avoid a five-figure mistake. Maybe it's ok for filler and Botox. I've been coming to this clinic for post-surgery follow-ups, and my experience has been extremely disappointing both in terms of patient care and my overall results. The front office is incredibly disorganized. I was notified just minutes before arriving to my appointment that the doctor would not be available and that I would be seen by a nurse instead. That is completely unacceptable. Patients plan their day, arrange childcare, and show up on time the least this clinic can do is respect that. To make matters worse, even after accommodating their last-minute change, I was left sitting in the lobby over 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time with no communication or updates. No apology, no sense of urgency nothing. This has not been a one time issue either, it seems to be a pattern, they're never on time. The front staff comes across as dismissive and unhelpful rather than professional or empathetic. Instead of making the post-surgery experience smoother, they add unnecessary stress. Another major concern was the lack of communication on the day of my surgery. My Husband, and family was not provided with any updates during the procedure, and my husband's calls were not being answered. This caused unnecessary stress and worry during what is already a very serious and vulnerable situation. Additionally, during my pre-op appointment, I was told my surgery would not exceed 7 hours. However, I ended up being in the operating room for over 10 hours with zero updates to my husband at any point. That is a significant difference, and it's very concerning that expectations were set one way and reality was completely different with no clear communication to my family during that time. They caused my husband an extreme amount of stress not having answers especially after he and I were both assured my surgery wouldn't go more than 7 hours. What concerns me even more is my progress and results. At this point in my recovery, I expected to see noticeable improvement in my arms and haven't changed and in some ways they feel even feels worse. Not being able to address these concerns directly with the doctor and instead being redirected to a nurse does not provide the level of care, reassurance, or accountability I expected from a surgical practice. Overall, I feel like my concerns -- both medically and as a paying patient are not being taken seriously. Post-operative care should be attentive, communicative, and patient-focused, and unfortunately that has not been my experience here. I had a mommy makeover in January this year. It's been almost 6 months and I am loving my results. But it's not only about my results, it's about the amount of preparation and attention I received for my pre-op meetings and post-op appointments. From the point of giving me a list of needs and what to expect about a month prior to my surgery to making sure I had aftercare for the first 24 hours post op, I felt every individual I have encountered at this location has been extremely competent, friendly, kind, and attentive to detail. Dr. Osita was my surgeon and he has been great throughout the process. The nurse assigned to me, Andrea, is super sweet and you get a direct line to their nurses so they are super responsive when you have questions or concerns leading up to the surgery and after. The intake nurse was so nice and helped calm my nerves the morning of. I strongly believe that my quick recovery had to do with all the preparation they had me do prior to the surgery. Also, Dr. Osita did such an amazing job with his sutures that my scar is so clean and looked super healed early on in the process. He was also super quick to understand what to do with my procedures to make my body look beautiful and natural. He listened to my concerns and understood my needs from the get go. I think I may have found a less expensive deal elsewhere but this entire experience can be scary and the peace of mind from knowing you have such a professional, caring and well prepared team was absolutely worth it. I went in for just a consultation a few months ago and in my head i just wanted a quote, i ended up walking out with a surgery date! They really sold me, i had looked at other places and had quotes from other surgeons but here at Marina they really heard me out. I regret coming here for so many reasons. 1. I came in to correct asymmetry on my breasts. I kept relaying to everyone on staff I just need some slight correction , I know perfect symmetry isn't possible. 2. The girl at the front desk with a BBL , I think her name is Megan, who you first speak to in the consultation room. I told her my about the asymmetry correction and said they could remove fat from where was best for this. 3. I ended up getting lipo on full abdomen and love handles 4. My breast went from a size 34b to a 34F (I never mentioned wanting bigger breasts) 5. The same exact asymmetry was there, only now I had HUGE breasts (which I never asked for) 6. I was told self massage was enough for recovery and to wear the compression garment. 7. Compression garment helped some but i was left with major fibrosis on my abdomen and uneven fat pockets on my tummy. 8. At my first post op appt, I was still taken back by how large my breasts were. The front desk ladies saw my results and were very ingenuine about amazed they were about my results were and how I should leave a great review . 9. I mentioned that the asymmetry was still there to Dr. Vendemia and he said that asymmetry was normal. Okay but why did I just go into debt for 17k for you to tell me it was normal. I went to Athenix in Pasadena I had a tummy tuck and lipo on my arms , hips and stomach . I also removed my breast silicon implants . I had for 10 years, i was suffering from breast implants illness . My doctor was Obi Osita he said that my implants were probably leaking and they were in a really bad shape , he showed me after the surgery . . I had my surgery in September of 2023, I was charged over 40K for an extended tummy tuck and lipo 360 with Dr. Isaak, my biggest concern was getting rid of the bulge in my mons area that had gotten worse after loosing 50 pounds I couldnt stress enough that the only reason i was doing this was to get rid that ugly bulge, fast forward during one of my post op appointments i mentioned to Dr. Isaak that I did not like the bulge that I was left with that would stick out, he said a revision and more lipo would help so I said okay he mentioned the revision would be free of charge but any other things I wanted to add on would be extra, totally understandable he asked me to wait a year in a half to make sure everything healed properly in order to go back and make another incision fast forward till now I went in for a revision consultation because I waited the time the surgeon ask me to to wait just to be told by Megan than it would not be revision anymore since they only give you a year to come back and that I would have to pay an additional 18K for a second procedure all because i made the mistake of listening to the surgeon, I am angry with myself and I feel hurt and after paying them with my life savings was left with the same insecurity i paid for to have it fix. I am merely comparing my experience to the one I had at the Athenix Bellevue, WA location. The first thing I noticed about this office is it quite unorganized. I believe its a staffing issue, but the WA locale was immaculate and the staff was welcoming and kind. This place felt was the opposite of that. I went in for my consultation, got the whole sales pitch about how I had to lock in the price or it might go up, and I scheduled a surgery for way later in the year. Sadly, I took a real financial hit with my car and had to cancel my surgery a couple of weeks later in order to put my money towards that instead- when I tried calling the staff, I was passed around to four different people every time I said I needed to cancel my surgery. The last gal did try to work with me, but when I was firm about cancelling, her tone changed and there was zero compassion. I am super devastated that I had to cancel my procedure, but even more disappointed that I don't feel safe going back. I don't even trust they will get the refund and cancellation processed, and I don't even want to call back to check because the last phone call was so unpleasant! Final thoughts: do not go here if you're on the fence about anything. You'll only get the best treatment if you plan on scheduling THAT DAY and follow through with it. Came here to get a tummy tuck/lypho, back flanks etc. Megan will make you feel like this is for you but service is overpriced. You don't get to meet a Dr until after you sign contract and approved for loan. You are evaluated by a non medical personal. After you sign Megan is always "too busy" to talk or return calls, unless you send an email. During the interview Megan said the Dr Pavlo Isak is booked until 6 months from now, but after i signed i was given a "pre op" appointment within 3 days which i was told i would be given a call 5 days. The contract states if you have a preop and cancel your loan after, then u have to pay $1000. After my research i felt this place is fishy as the Dr assigned to me Pavlo Isak also had another older dr that is a cosmetic surgery. To me there was too many red flags how they operate to get you stuck in the loan to force you to go through the surgery or lose money. I wasn't comfortable enought to feel like i would get a good result i would be happy with. I didn't see enough pictures or results that made me feel like i wiuld be satisfied and this is permanent i was afraid of being botched or having to pay again to fix something. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Athenix! Their customer service is absolutely wonderful and everyone on the staff is so nice. I had my consultation with Megan and she immediately made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions about how to get my body where I wanted to be after losing 100lbs. Once I booked my procedure with Dr. Vendemia, Megan was just a text away if I had any questions and I actually ended up changing and adding to my procedures before my actual surgery date. I'm writing an update to praise the upper management of Athenix for stepping in and resolving this matter. Both the regional director of operations and the CEO have my sincere thanks for their attempts in correcting this situation. I received my refund, dated the day I made the negative review, the following day, indicating that Athenix did not process the refund as they said they would in December. This resolution does not undo the situation that occurred, or the vindictive actions of manager Karen who maliciously delayed my refund and canceled my surgery, which has cost me considerable time, money and heartbreak to reschedule with a new office. A just resolution includes consequences for a manager who would handle things in this way to ensure it never happens again. read more

About 2.5 years ago I had a outer and inner thigh / saddlebag areas liposuctions procedure with Dr Marshall. Even after the procedure or 6 moths after, my saddlebags were seen from my clothes as they just became a little smaller even though I had firmly told doctor I wanted to get rid of them and get smoother curves. He could bring very poor results. I excercise regularly, I gained only 3-4 pounds after the procedure (my height is 5.6 and I weigh 52 kg), the fat in my saddlebag area came back, my saddlebags are as big as they were before the procedure, as if I didn't do anything. Very disappointing. I don't know how well other procedures worked with other people, as to me - I would definitely not recommend anyone go here for liposuction, especially to Dr Marshal, as it will be waste of time and money and expectations. read more

I was contacted by the CEO to give this surgeon a chance to "help" me. So I went in to see the surgeon. Wasted $4.50 parking fee just for him to tell me, he didn't recommend this procedure and putting the blame on "me". I ask why did he made incisions in areas that are so obvious when I specifically ask to be discreet about. Not answered. Asked about why my skin turned black when he claimed he didn't work in those areas. No answer. What a f**king joke. read more

I was very unhappy with my body due to health issues and my abdominal area had grown out of control due to my endometriosis. I had a consultation here with Dr. Azad. Very caring and honest doctor. I was confident I would get outstanding work. I did put my deposit. I went back a few months later to find out Dr.Azad was no longer there and moved to Florida to start his own practice. In return I was seen by a new doctor. I was reassured he was a great doctor, he's very knowledgeable. He had done many breast lift surgeries before especially reconstruction for cancer patients. I did speak to him he was very knowledgeable and had a great bed side manner. I ended up scheduling my surgery date. Day of surgery was good. The nurses were very nice and caring. As soon as surgery was done I didn't see the surgeon nor did he come out to reassure that surgery went well. It seemed liked he was rushed to get into another surgery. Follow up was ok. I was in a lot of. I was still bleeding a lot still and very bruised. I was told I was fine. Well let me tell you I was a 36F going in I came out 36B. I know I wanted small boobs but damn that's drastic. I went to my first week follow up I hated my breast. They looked hideous. Very small no volume and not perky like I wanted. We talked about putting an implant of 330cc I got 195cc. What is that? A chicken cutlet? Every time I went in for follow I expressed how much I hated them. The scars were done horribly and very long. When I went back for my 6 week follow up I asked to talked to the doctor. Who to my surprise the surgeon who performed surgery on me was no longer there. Another doctor ended up seeing not even knowing my case. It was horrible. That's when I gave up and started looking for a second opinion consultation. I found an amazing doctor in NewportBeach. Very knowledgeable and honest. He was even struck back as to why I got a 195cc. He said my breast had no volume and looked deflated. He also couldn't understand why the doctor went so far up on my scars. So after spending a big chuck of hard earned money at Athenix I decided to bit the gun and have a revision done with this new doctor. Let me tell you I don't know why I didn't research better. My breast look amazing and I'm only 2 weeks PO. He also called my husband asking how I was feeling when I arrived home. For a whole week he checked up on me. Moral of the story is DO YOUR RESEARCH. This company is a franchise. They have different doctors working there. It's not guaranteed you will have the same doctor up until your 6 month follow up. They are in the business to book and schedule. $$$$$$$$$$$ so it's all about the dollar signs. There so many other amazing doctors out there. Do your research get as many consultations as you can. I had surgery at this place less than a year ago, not a very good experience! The girl there who talks to you about the cost of treatment I think her name is Megan, is the most friendly person as she is convincing you to get the procedures done. Promises to walk you thru the process, but once she's processed your credit card, she is a completely different person! Can't get a hold of her, does not help and doesn't even acknowledge you as a patient when you're in the office for follow ups. By the way, the doctor doesn't even see you for the most important post op care appointment ( the following day post surgery). His "trusted" nurses Stephany and Theresa who by the way are not even RN , are the ones making the decision on the post op care. The doctor likes to be behind the scenes and only looks at your pictures as a post op care. The nurses literally go back and forth in and out of the room communicating questions and answers from the patient as I was in the room in pain and emotional stress. Is really really hard to get the doctor to follow up with you as a patient. Let me not even go and share my experience with the front desk staff including the so call manager! So unprofessional! That girl name Úrsula calls you "love" belittle way and so rude! That place left me so traumatized and disbelief ! Don't even like to think of the whole crew of staff in that clinic! They are just somewhat nice on the first visit as they have you signed and paid for your procedures. Once you've had the surgery, they basically show how bothered they are by your post op visits!!
