I've been wanting to post this review for some time, as I am about 3+ years post op. I came here because Dr. Lakshman claims to be the top surgeon for abdominal work. I've been a fitness instructor my entire life (and still am), so I wasn't ever overweight, and I've never had children. However, menopause started, and created a pouch of belly fat that I was very unhappy with that diet and exercise wouldn't diminish. Dr. Lakshman said, no problem, we'll take that out. My belly skin was very smooth prior to the surgery. Afterward, the lipo left me lumpy and pockmarked, with a puffy spot on the right side that has never gone down (maybe a missed fat pouch?!) and several dents, for lack of a better word, including two horizontal 1 1/2 inch depressions just above my bikini line. My belly fat is gone and looks good in clothing, however, I'm very self-conscious when I'm naked and I can never wear a bikini again. I mentioned this to him post op, and he said I don't know what you're talking about, it looks great! But you can see by the photos that it doesn't look great. (He also said that he can do a tummy tuck on me- really?! I didn't need a tuck before surgery, but now I do to cover up his sloppy work?) Every time I take a shower or dress next to a mirror, I'm upset and angry at how deformed my belly now looks compared to before. Every. Time. I miss my smooth skin, and my ability to wear crop tops at the gym and bikinis by the pool. I had the mini bbl done by Dr Lakshman. For me, the lipo on my stomach was the most important part of the procedure with the butt being the bonus. I am currently almost 13 weeks post op. I had uneven fat in my abdomen/side with one side being larger that i couldn't get rid of after having kids with strict dieting and exercising even being 113lbs at my smallest weight. I was told I would have looseness in my stomach after the lipo at my consultation and again at my pre op appointment but I've had 3 kids so I was expecting that as I already had some but what I wasn't expecting was for the results to look this good. BEWARE!!! If you come here, you will get beyond the results you were expecting. I am just shy one-year post-opp so it is time for a review. Let me first say that whomever you choose to go, please make sure you do your research on the surgeon. If you need to save or spend a little more for a reputable person, do that. This is a procedure you do not want to cheap out on. Having said that, I found Dr. Lakshman on here after going to a consultation in Burbank. I wholly intended to go with them and the only reason I kept looking was because the surgery date was too far out for me. This was a blessing in disguise. When I went to Dr. Lakshman I felt at ease right away. He was thorough and took his time explaining everything. He listened to my concerns and tangents without making me feel rushed. If that isn't enough, he is a HAND surgeon on top of having his cosmetic license. Do you know how much precision and dexterity that takes?? He is a very gifted doctor and definitively the man for the job. From the moment I signed and paid to post surgery I felt taken care of. Alba, Diana, and a little later, Jasmine took care of me. Alba is stellar. She was so on top of text check-ins, making sure my follow-ups were scheduled, and just overall care. Going to follow-ups were the best because the ladies are such a pleasure to be around. We always had some good laughs - Dr. Lakshman included. The only two negative experiences came from external sources unrelated to Dr. Lakshman and his staff. The hospital in which the surgery was scheduled didn't have my folder and gave me the runaround in the facility which made me late to pre-opp. The medical hotel (which is optional) post opp had a nurse there which made my night something out of a sadistic horror movie. When I let Dr. Lakshman know, he was very upset about it and said he'd follow-up about the experience with the facility. (Side note: please make sure you have a consistent person with you at home because it will make your life way easier. Also make sure you have ample PTO so you don't feel rushed during healing.) If I had to do this all over again, I would. Even after putting on a few inches, my results are still exactly what I want. He made a long-time dream come true and he's worth every penny. It even looked like I had a BBL because he lipo'd my lower back. SKILLS! I'd be happy to answer any other questions, so just send me a DM. I didn't realize I had not wrote a review for Dr. Lakshman so here it is. I had a breast augmentation in 2021. Dr. Lakshman was the 2nd Dr I had a consultation with out of 6. To be honest I knew as soon as I left his office that first day that I wanted him to be my surgeon but I still went and met with the other surgeons. I chose Dr. Lakshman for a multitude of reasons. I will list the top 5....1) He was extremely thorough in our consultation and took the time to really listen to what my goal was (others just rushed the consultation straight to the sales person) 2) He provided me with many options and educated me on them all. 3) His personality (yes, i felt comfortable immediately) 4) His staff! The entire staff is amazing. 5) Location...Location of his office & surgical center are not too far from home which seemed much better for post surgery. My results....EXACTLY what i had hoped for! Mini BBL - Medical Gaslighting: I did not want to write this and did everything to work with Dr. Lakshman. I am speaking from an honest perspective and using notes I took over time: SURGERY RESULTS: I got my surgery in November 2022. I got a mini bbl that includes Lipo 360. My BBL results are good, but I do not like my liposuction results, specifically on my back. Now I have a flat tummy but a big back. My rolls are still there and my upper back hangs over the lower part that was Lipo'd more attentively. My main goal was to get my back fat sucked away; my booty was just extra. I traveled for the surgery, so I met Dr. Lankshman for an online consultation, in person for a consultation, and before the surgery date. He told me he would suck the rolls out and Lipo all parts of the back, upper included. I trusted him and went forward with him, spending $5,000. The surgery is performed in the office and awake, which is a newer procedure for them, hence the price. From day one, I did not feel pain or soreness in my upper back like I did everywhere else that he worked on, including my buttocks, 6 months later, I still don't. I mentioned this from the day the nurses removed my bandages, asking them if the rolls would eventually get smaller. The nurses said they would and that it was just swelling. I met with them every few months because they wanted to track the results. I would mention politely that I love my results but was not happy with my back. I remained respectful during our conversations and had no intention to upset Dr. Lankshman because I was seeking help. He would tell me to wait 6 months for results to set in. I trusted the process, though, no changes. I invested even more money in my massages, purchased multiple fajas, and cared for myself. COMMUNICATION EXPERIENCE: Months passed, and my results set in. We met in person and again I told him I wasn't happy with my back. He instantly got so offended and took it personally. He would gaslight me and was condescending as if we didn't have a consultation about what he said he would do. I reminded him of what he said and he shook it off and basically said it doesn't matter anymore. He would interrupt me while I was speaking and was so rude to me with attempts to shut me down, to the point where I cried. He would ask me if I was ever big, which to him, is why I have "loose skin". I've never weighed over 160 lbs. He said I needed a backlift. Why would you accept me for the surgery and tell me you can flatten my rolls if you think I need that? I spoke to other surgeons, my massage lady, and my medical doctor, and they all said it was still a lot of fat in my back. Trying to be rude, he even told me he would have recommended a tummy tuck instead with a slight giggle. It's obvious I don't need a tummy tuck. From that moment, I lost trust. He told me that liposuction isn't as important because in his words, "it is called a BBL, not BBL and Liposuction". No one calls it that because everyone knows you need Lipo to do a BBL. He said I should go and see another surgeon instead and have them fix it. He honestly said a lot more that I did not write down. I don't know if he felt inclined to interact with me this way because I'm a Black woman but that crossed my mind. Knowing that Black women are stereotyped for having attitudes and disrespected by default, often gaslit, and systematically not heard or believed in the medical industry, I approached the situation gracefully and mindfully, but was honest and persistent. Though, I usually feel nervous and anxious speaking up for myself. It is daunting and uncomfortable to tell someone that you do not like something, but I wanted to advocate for myself. Dr. Lankshman often spoke to me in a very micro-aggressive and arrogant tone, which made my experience worse. I probably would not have written this if he handled our interactions more thoughtfully, but this was my last resort. He mentioned that a few others complained about their back lipo results and offered me a revision surgery for $2,500 but still mentioned he could not guarantee the back fat being gone. Why would you have someone pay for work you are not confident you can do? SUMMARY: If you get the mini BBL, know that he does not truly focus on the liposuction aspect, which I feel is just as important, especially if you are already going through the pain and experience of being under the knife. Also, Black bodies are often structured and proportionately different. I do not see much representation on his social sites. Also, know that he is challenging to communicate and work with if you raise concerns. Do not just look at the price tag. Do your research, and do not rush into these sorts of things. I waited to write this review to work it out with the doctor, trying to look past the antics and disrespect to get a revision, but I realized it's not worth going under the knife with someone who showed me they don't respect me. read more

I was fortunate enough to get into a clinical study and receive a full tummy tuck but I have to tell you I would have paid for the work Dr. Lakshman did. I am not fully recovered and I have a lot more time until I am but so far my experience has been great. I am 52 and was really nervous about having this kind of surgery but he was so calming and I really felt like he knew what he was doing. He made me confident in him performing the surgery on me. The surgery lasted a few hours and I was knocked out of course but although there is pain, it isn't as painful as I thought it would be. I think my c-sections were more painful of I remember correctly. So far it looks great. I am still wearing my binder and again, have quite a while until I am recovered but I can already see how amazing it will look. I will be going back to him for some other work (and will pay). Dr Lankshman is AMAZING!!! I wish I could give him more stars. This review is way over due. I had my surgery about 9 months ago and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with my Tummy Tuck & Full Lipo results. After five years of searching for a good plastic surgeon and going to many consultations, I finally found Dr Lankshman. As soon as I met him (and his wonderful staff) I knew he was the one I could trust to do my surgery. Dr Lankshman is extremely kind, professional and caring. He is very personable and makes you feel comfortable. He will answer all your questions and will not rush you or pressure you at any time. His staff is amazing and very friendly. Alba is very communicative and handles the consultation, pre and post surgery, and follow ups. She always answered my calls and texts. Jasmine is also very helpful and is very responsive as well to calls/texts. Diana is very helpful too. My surgery was done at the Glendale Adventist surgery center (not a back office like some other dr's use). The surgery center is nice, clean and very organized. The nurses at the center are very nice and caring. They take good care of you from the time you arrive until the time you leave the facility. The anesthesiologist was great too and kept me at ease. I highly recommend the recovery center after your surgery. You will be picked up after the surgery and taken to a very nice after-care facility. They have nurses that will take care of you throughout the night to ensure you are recovering well after surgery. The pain after surgery is as expected, but Dr Lankshman's surgery is done in a way that will help minimize the pain. I stopped taking the pain meds 2 days after my surgery, since I started feeling better. The drain removal, to my surprise, was pain free. I was told that it could be painful and uncomfortable, but when Dr Lankshman removed the drains, I did not feel a thing. Dr Lankshman is an artist, he truly has an eye for body shaping and contouring and makes you look fabulous. He went above and beyond my expectations. I am extremely happy and amazed with my results. I went in for a mini tummy tuck and I have to say that I am in love with my results. I was VERY nervous to have surgery but it's something that I have wanted for so long and I have to say that Dr. Lakshman was the best person to go to for the job! I was referred to Dr. Lakshman by my Personal Physician because I had cut my foot and had stitches that weren't healing well. On my initial visit, he was extremely friendly and showed great interest in making sure I could recover and continue working after my surgery. That day as I returned home I called and left a message saying I was getting "cold feet." He called me back and assured me that surgery was the best option. On the day of the surgery, after I was prepped, he asked me what type of music I wanted to hear while they were setting up. He knew I was a DJ and I told him to play Ozuna, a reggaeton artist. I have to assume he performed the surgery while listening to it because I went completely under anesthesia ha, ha. He told me he cleaned out the wound and found a vein that had been cut and unnoticed and began forming hematosis. He took care of that and restitched my foot better. After two weeks, the wound healed nicely. On each visit, Dr. Lakshman was kind and easy to talk to and always greets you with a smile. His staff is very friendly. Most of my immediate family members developed heavy eye lids with age. My dad, now in his seventies, can barely see out of his left eye because the droopy lid covers a large part of it. At age 45, my lids have dropped quite significantly already. I consider Dr. Lakshman a personal friend, so when I told him that the only plastic surgery procedure I would ever consider were an eye lid lift (blepharoplasty) in my fifties, he responded with a question: "Why wait?". Even though I knew of the doctor's excellent reputation, I had my concerns. When I thought of men with plastic surgery, recent pictures of Kenny Rogers and Wayne Newton came to mind. Oh, the Horror! Luckily, my concerns were entirely unfounded. I'm so glad I took the doc's advice to have the surgery done sooner to heart. The procedure was only about 45 minutes and completely painless due to local anesthesia. The healing process was much quicker than expected, with only very little discomfort. As soon as my band aid strips came off about 5 days after the surgery, no one could even tell I had anything done to my eye lids. Now, a little over 2 weeks later, my lids are almost completely healed. The entire area below my brows looks exactly like it did when I was 20 years younger (I just wish I could say that about the rest of my face). Not only did the blurry grey bar that was constantly affecting the top of my field of vision disappear, the tired, frowning expression caused by the droopy lids is gone as well. I am so appreciative of the care and service that I received from Pasadena Surgeons and Dr Lakshman! I had what might have been a debilitating accident in April of 2020. I fell off a ladder, while painting the exterior of my home. As I fell, I broke my fall with my right hand. After picking myself off the ground, I could instantly tell this wasn't good. My right wrist was sort of an S shape. Fortunately, Pasadena Surgeons and Dr Lakshman came to the rescue. I was able to have reconstructive surgery in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now 9 months later, I have almost 90 percent use of my right wrist and hand. I still have much work to regain my flexibility and range of motion, but I've returned to work and am able to perform my work tasks. Where do I even begin! Dr. Lakshman, Alba and Diana are all truly amazing! I am almost to the year mark of my BBL and continue to see results. Prior to going forward with the procedure I scheduled consults with other doctors but once I had my consult at Pasadena Surgeons I cancelled all others. I felt safe not only knowing my results would be great but I would be safe having surgery during COVID. Dr. Lakshman listened to what I wanted and DID not try to "up sale" me. I visited Dr Lakshman's office to have stitches removed from my chin, and he instead recommended what I am certain was unnecessary and over-the-top surgery. I got 7 stitches from the ER and thought a plastic surgeon would be the best place to go to have them removed. My dentist had seen my chin and said that I was healing nicely. Dr Lakshman, the next day, said that the ER did a "terrible job" and that my wound would "fall apart" if he took the stitches out. He said he needed to put me under anesthesia and and "clean it up" and scheduled a surgery at a surgical center. (The surgery center called me in advance-not to warn me about surgery with a concussion but to aggressively ask for my credit card.) Instead, I went to my primary care doctors office and had my stitches removed without incident. They were impressed at how well I had healed and actually commented on what a nice job the ER had done with the stitches. Nothing "fell apart" and there's hardly any scaring. read more

Dr. Lakshman is definitely the surgeon you want to work with for any cosmetics. I personally had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Lakshman, and all I can say is from the beginning to now, it has been nothing but a great experience! Dr. Lakshman is definitely an artist at his skill. He makes you feel comfortable and takes the time to answer any questions/concerns that you may have. His staff is amazing as well! My sister and I both went through Lotus Research Clinic and we also had Dr Lakshman for our abdominal plasty We were very pleased , and when I decided to get liposuction of course I went to Dr Lakshman he did a superior job now I have the tummy I wanted nice and flat . On my last post op appointment I had a consultation for a breast lift and reduction I had been carrying DD heavy breast and it was just too much I am 56 and 119 5'4 I just had surgery Sept 22, 2017 and I had my post op today the unveiling was magical & I have to say very minimal pain, in fact I'm going back to work tomorrow (office job) I want to thank Dr Lakshman for his artistic ability to transform my huge heavy breast to now I feel like and look like 25 year old I'm so excited for what life has in store for me.
