One of the biggest regrets in my life... About 2 years ago I've decided to do a rhinoplasty which was my big dream. I've talked to a lot of surgeons and they kept refusing to do the surgery cuz I have a rare health condition. Dr. Panossian said it's ok for him and I ended up taking a pretty huge loan for the surgery. So after 7 hours of anesthesia I woke up and felt horrible. Dr. didn't check on me. I was just staying there till night and I've realized that I won't make it home. I had to pay 1200 to stay overnight. Dr. still didn't show up. The way nurses took care of me was bad except for one Fillipino nurse who was very nice. Thanks a lot to her When she wasn't around my urine was literally standing next to the bottle of water (I couldn't go to the bathroom). Next morning the stuff worker was very rude to me on the phone. They didn't even want to let my son take me home. They were forcing me to use the transportation service they refer you to. In the end they let me out and forgot to pull the needle out of my vein. The nurse then came to my home to get it out. During the entire time I spent at the hospital after surgery I didn't even see the doctor. Which is just ridiculous for me. But all of that wasn't the worst thing. I was ready for almost anything to get the nose I wanted. But even that I didn't get Very soon a hump appeared on my nose. The tip got large and simply went down. I now have scars and cysts in my nose that hurt a lot. Also nose is crooked and it's asymmetric, including the nostrils which the doctor has described as "perfect" On every follow up appointment doctor would come up with different reasons as to why that happens. He was saying that we need to give it a time, then he kept changing the time I should wait for. He also said that it's cuz I'm wearing a mask which I didn't wear. He then said that my skin is too thick which is why the tip is down. He then made a lot of injections. Then he said I need the second rhinoplasty under local anesthesia to rotate the tip. It was very painful and uncomfortable to say the least. But I went through that too cuz I still had hope. But nothing has changed. This time the doctor said it's just the way I am and there is nothing that can be done. And he also said that my nose looks great which honestly sounds like a joke. Now I have: A huge loan to pay off. Crooked nose with a hump and a huge lowered tip and big scar. Everyday I feel devastated and depressed every time I look in the mirror. Finally, I have a broken dream. Maybe this doctor has helped other people but for me this choice was a huge mistake. If you want an elegant nose I strongly suggest you go find other places. I certainly do have medical issues and other surgeons definitely did refuse to perform rhinoplasty based on purely medical reasons. They wanted me to bring a paper from a neurosurgeon. Dr.Panossian, who was informed of my condition, never requested such document 2. I didn't mind the length of surgery or revision 3. I had no idea I will feel so bad after surgery. I couldn't even get up until midnight. And the doctor never came up to me and said that it is safe to leave (about that later) The overnight service cost me money 4. There were 2 people that could help me get home, including my legal adult son and one of nurses from your hospital. Her shift was over and she wanted to give me a ride. But the medical staff still wanted me to use your transportation service for some reason 5. Amnesia ‍You were saying I had amnesia but I clearly remember asking the nurses if the doctor will show up. They didn't know. By this time, my mind was clear and I'm certain I didn't see the doctor that night and next morning. Also during the follow up appointment he said that he didn't know I stayed overnight. So when exactly did he visit me if he didn't even know how bad I felt? 6. I didn't expect the same result as influencers. For the money I paid, I was expecting at least a normal looking elegant nose without a hump and curvature 7. I can provideENT visit summary 8. The doctor did use the word "perfect" when assessing my nostrils, and other similar adjectives during other visits. My son was there on all of my follow ups and clearly remembers that too 9.Thanks for injection 10. I didn't wear a mask but the doctor said that I do 11.I'm sorry that the changes that were made during the revision were so subtle that I didn't even notice them. I too, hope that other patients were educated on my experience and your response. You said many people would be happy to have such nose. I went to Andre Panossian for synkinesis treatment following facial paralysis. He had marketed himself as surgeon who performed selective neurolysis, but when I spoke with him, he indicated this approach isn't always successful. He recommended excising a muscle he said was causing a twitch and tension. I foolishly believed he knew what he was doing. Based on my results, he didn't. He left me in a poorly staffed hospital after this "simple" procedure with uncontrolled nausea and vomiting, a relatively easy complication to fix with the right care and meds. But the hospital claimed the orders were not properly in place to give me the meds needed. Despite numerous attempts to reach his office by myself and the nurses, the issue wasn't resolved in a timely manner. After throwing up for many hours, the hole he made in my mouth to excise the muscle apparently provided a perfect tunnel for an infection to take root in my face below my eye. After I got home, I reported increased swelling and pain to his office. I was told this was normal. It wasn't. I wound up hospitalized for days on IV antibiotics with an abscess in my face that had to be drained repeatedly while I was wide awake. The muscle he excised was not related to the twitch or tension. Another muscle was the culprit. The scar tissue combined with the muscle excision made my face more asymmetric. The pain is worse. Breathing through my nose is challenging as the muscle he removed is, in part, a nasal dilator. I'm stuck with a face that looks and feels much worse and breathing difficulty. Now, there's scar tissue to navigate around surgically. No, I wouldn't recommend his services to my family, friends or strangers. I deeply regret trusting him with my care. read more

My daughter was born with a form of acrosyndactaly. Fusion of the fingers in her left hand. Basically her hand looked like a horses foot..we were pointed in Dr. Panossians direction from Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Panossian gave us hope that he would help to give her some kind of a hand back with functionality. Finding only 3 bones for fingers. He did his very best to create a functioning hand for her. My son has the genetic disorder Neurofibromatosis 1. We were looking for a Doctor that does a procedure to remove the tumors that grow on the skin. We heard about Dr. Panossian, and scheduled an appointment for a consultation. After the consultation we were very comfortable with Dr. Panossian doing the procedure. My son had the procedure done at Dr. Panossian's office surgery center, which was very convenient. The facility is modern, the nurses were great. There is a pharmacy on the bottom floor to fill any prescriptions. Also, there is plenty to do within walking distance, if someone is wanting to stay while surgery is being done. I contacted Dr. Panossian last Wed to get an emergency consult appointment for my daughter, when we found out her plastic surgeon at Choc Hospital wanted to do a second surgery ( little toe amputation) on the next day. I am writing this review in absolute recommendation of Dr. Panossian. My daughter had a large hemangioma on her cheek and we were looking for a knowledgeable surgeon to work with. Not only is he an expert at cranio-facial plastic surgery for children, but one of his specialties is hemangiomas. Upon our first consult, I really felt like he listened to our concerns and was honest and open as far as the outcomes. He did his best to perform the surgery according to what we had discussed during our consult and that really made a difference because it showed great compassion, talent, and understanding from a parents perspective.
