The course itself was in pretty good condition. They are renovating a bunch of their tee boxes, so the course is currently playing shorter than it normally would. It made the course a lot easier, as I was hitting driver and wedge into most of the par 4s. Ended up shooting (-1) from the white tees, which was a solid score. The course is pretty wide open, so if you aren't driving the ball straight it doesn't hurt you as much. It's great for all skill levels, and can be challenging at times but a great course to learn on if you are just starting. The greens were aerated earlier in the week so they weren't rolling true but we were able to make it work. The bunkers had a good amount of sand, and the fairways were well kept. Pace of play was on the slower side, so plan for 5+ hours to be on the safe side. I'd prefer a morning tee time as the wind picks up in the afternoon and makes the course a bit harder. My only gripe is that there was no mention of aeration of the greens on their website or when I booked my tee time. Honestly we probably wouldn't have come if we knew the greens were just aerated, especially since we had to drive across the bridge to get here. Overall, definitely a solid course that I would play again and again.

Not always lucky enough to have that and a range all available, so that was a plus. Can't speak to the 18-hole Lema course, which is understandably the emphasis, but the 9-hole side left plenty of room for improvement. I think it's great that they have youth tournaments, but would have figured this to be reason enough for the course to be in better shape. Also, pace of play was ridiculous. Not necessarily suggesting a need for a marshall or anything on this side since that seems unreasonable, but the groups ahead had absolutely no consideration. Group of 3 at a slow pace wouldn't even let a youth participant playing as a single behind them play through. Frustratingly watched this from 2 back on the waiting bench from holes 3-9, and also watched some behind me give up and head home. As a plus, there was another putting green along the way between holes so that helped kill some time.

Castro Valley hosts this mini golf spot that's an affiliate of the Golfland family and features its two 18-hole ranges perfect for beginners and experts alike. After a few rounds on the green, consider venturing into their arcades to play some good old fashioned video games (Time Crisis and other dual player shooters, Mario Kart and other racing games, and fighting games) and skill games (like skee ball, table air hockey, and claw machines). Be wary, however, for those who have game cards from other Golflands, they're location specific so they won't work here unless you have one from this spot. Starting from the giant parking lot which is just off of a busy street, you'll make your way through the gates and stroll up the long walkway to the front desk where you'll register to get your clubs and balls (you'll get your choice from among a few colors). From there, you'll have your pick of the two courses, one for novices and one for the more adventurous. Make your way through the obstacles and mark your scorecard to determine the winner of bragging rights! We came for a birthday party and logistically, they have the main room amongst the beginner course which is well lit from all the open windows but I believe they have another space near the arcade for those looking for a more enclosed, private gathering. Once the guests arrived, they hosted an orientation and got the members all equipped and ready to go. The youngsters had a lot of fun and can't wait to return! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. You'll interact with them more at the arcades especially if you'll be redeeming prizes with your hard-earned digital tickets. The ticket values on the top tier prizes were pretty large but for frequent visitors or lucky winners, you can get some pretty neat stuff here. The mini prizes definitely reminded me of my times at the arcades when I was a kid, very nostalgic! Overall, Golden Tee Golfland is a well-maintained, family friendly environment conducive to an awesome time outdoors as well as an exhilarating experience soaking up the old school arcade vibe. We accumulated a ton of steps during our visit here and the kids could not stop hitting the greens to get their fluorescently colored balls into the holes. The obstacles are fun - there are water effects and moving doors and bridges. While most of them functioned as expected, there were a few hiccups with some like balls getting stuck or certain doors just not functioning as expected. For wetter seasons, the holes for the balls do end up pooling which makes picking the balls out a bit of an unpleasant endeavor. For being exposed to the outdoors, the place was in pretty good shape, however. It's a bummer that the Golflands don't have a unified system for the game cards as it just incentivizes families to just pick one and stick with it instead of venturing out and exploring the other amazing locations like this one. If you're a local, this is a great place to take a date or the family - it'll tee you up for a good time!

The road to the golf course is beautiful with trees on both sides. I always walk with my golf cart, but booking online it only had the option with cart. I was glad that they forced us to pay for the golf cart, BTW, when you book online the night before, you have to pay for the tee time non refundable with a credit card. If you want to walk which is a little difficult and slow due to many hilly fairways, you must call the pro shop to book. I didn't see anyone walking on last Friday. There are 2 courses on this establishment, there's one 9 holes and one 18 holes. The check-in pro shop is across from the cart return area, hard to see, a small house, may be it's still in renovation? The driving range is right next to it. BTW, it's a little difficult to find a parking spot close to the pro shop, the best is to park, then check in to get a cart and go to the car to get the clubs. Anyhow, the first hole is right there at the golf carts. I could see the hill already. It's beautiful. The fairways are very well kept, plenty of grass but many bushes on the sides, easy to lose balls if they went in there. Many fairways are quite narrow, and a few that have flags up in the hills to guide people for teeing off due to blind fairways. The greens were just aerated a few weeks, still very thick and spotty but puttable. Many greens are quite small although some are big. I like number 9 par 3 on the top hitting to the bottom of the hill, beautiful but quite challenging. The 18 hole is amazing, par 6 and so vast, long, hilly, and beautiful. Love this hole. Most of the holes have wonderful views of the valleys, canyons, I love the scenery. Ah, at the end of the 11th hole, the BBQ grills smelled so good that I had to order the Cheese Burger and believe it or not it's the best $13 cheese burger anywhere at any price. The young lady did it so well, so perfect and I even had a bag of chips to go with it. She deserved a great tip. The prices on weekdays are quite reasonable, for Senior like me, only $43 including cart which is inexpensive. Yes, I'll come back here again and shoot a better score than the first one due to not being familiar with the golf course.

Despite that, I can have fun playing, especially when I have plenty of spare balls and the course is a par 3. I think I probably found as many balls as I lost, so that was an added bonus. You can usually see some wildlife on the course. There is a nice little putting green to get warmed up before you play or to try and relive some of the missed puts from the round you just finished. It is inexpensive, public and usually not overly crowded.

We booked a last minute tee time the day off, and luckily we were able to get something early afternoon. I had played here maybe in 09-10, so it's been a while and had no concept of the course. We got paired up some Metro regulars (shout out David and Chris) and they helped me navigate my way around the course. The greens were in solid shape, which was a surprise. I didn't find the course too challenging. A lot of driver and wedge into greens. The bunkers have way too much sand in them, very thick, making it harder to get out of. Luckily I only hit into 1. I think my biggest issue was the pace of play and no marshall (on the day we were there) to move people along. It was a nice day without much wind, so I'm guessing the course played easier than it normally does. While it's a walkable course, there's very little shade so on a super sunny day, definitely recommend getting a power cart and loading up on the sunscreen. Also huge shout to James at the restaurant. Super nice guy and enjoyed a few laughs while we enjoyed a pre-round meal and some drinks. Speaking of food, it's solid golf course food at a reasonable price. The turkey club was well worth the cost and the fries are like McDonald's light. Overall, I think it's a solid course. Not sure if I'm running to play here all the time given that I have to cross a bridge to get here, but again if this was my home course, it would be solid choice.

It is a beautiful contoured layout with midsize, fairways and true rolling greens. The spacious grounds had a delightful green and fecund aire . A welcome feel for a January afternoon during Rev Dr Martin Luther King weekend! Superb drainage is just one of the great features of the course ...with all the December and early January precipitation and foul weather our playing partners indicated that they seldom missed their regular appointed rounds. We were fortunate to be paired with two very splendid amateur women players - one from Stanford and another a consultant with Apple Management... So you never know who you're going to meet at Corica. My friend - a local denizen - was just beginning to explore the challenges of the game. ... it was a difficult course to learn and implement swing changes on. Though the driving range provides elite swing technology, it lacks key indicators such as spin and ball speed, that are helpful in teaching a new player, but it's still a feature that most driving ranges around the country lack. The par threes were particularly bland and I found the 17th almost unplayable. I also thought the weekend greens fee was exorbitant close to $151 +2 cart fees, plus a 75 nonrefundable non-applicable reservation fee, which is total nonsense. The pro shop is as unimaginable as any I've ever visited thank God for the restaurant and the wonderful people that run that place

This Redwood Canyon showed up, but not on the front page. I checked out the golf course website and decided to play here on a Thursday. Amazingly this one is the one I had my wedding 23 years ago. This golf course is so beautiful, I have to say it's the best kept secret of the East Bay. The course is a short or average 18 holes, but it's not easy. The fairways are actually narrow so you have to hit straight, easy to lose balls in the rough or the hills or the creeks. The fairways are well kept, green and beautiful. Every hole is a scenery of trees and canyon, so beautiful with some bambi walking around but also some rattlesnakes too so watch out when looking for balls in the bushes. The greens are so well kept but somehow every hard to put, none of the holes are flat, all curvy like a dome although they're not breaking badly, just not flat, sometimes like sitting on a dome, balls can roll either side of the holes. The price is amazingly inexpensive, the membership club is only $40/year, yes, year not month and you get discounts on everything, especially green fees. Just a few rounds, it's paid for. For Seniors like me, after 62, it's only $27 walking at this time, perfectly for walking, exercising 2 times a week without breaking the bank. Thursday special LOL. There's a women club that starts at 9-9:30AM, if you play after this time, it's a little slow until the 10th holes because they finished at the 9th holes most of them. My Verizon iPhone 15 had no signal through out the golf course, some ATT phones had some signals but not all holes. To my surprise she yells, "You're not even going to say excuse me?!" repeated this 3 times as I apologized if she didn't hear me but went on with her attitude anyway. There was another golfer in the restroom who felt that was absolutely unnecessary he heard me but it was apparent she didn't. Needless to say it will be the first and last time me and my friends organize our tee time here. Never experienced anything like this at any golf course in the world!
