I won't be coming back. I switched doctors as of 02/20/15. I strongly encourage anyone who is considering this place for MediCAL to choose just about any venue except this one. I have the picture! First and foremost, for a doctor that is "board certified" to be practicing non-evidence based medicine is pure idiocy. I came in with what I thought is a right leg injury. After waiting in the waiting room filling out papers for about an hour and a half, I finally was able to see him. he checked my leg and said nothing is wrong, but he would be prescribing me the following vitamins and minerals that I can get from website x,y,z. It's not too uncommon for a doctor to be lobbying certain medications as he/she is directly affiliated with the research somehow or other financial incentive. Oh, and btw, they still have to disclose that too. However, the doctor advocating non-medication based vitamins (which comically, he wrote on prescription form to the pharmacy which does not carry it) is LOL funny. Don't believe me? Here is exactly what he wrote: B complex 100 mg1 tablet/1 a day Potassium Iodine 32.5 mg once a week Hyuluronic acid 100 mg/1 a day Stinging Nettle 480 g 1/day Boswillia 250 mg 1 a day Vit C 1 gm 1 a day Iron 28 mg 1 day for month Omega 3 1000 mg 3x day after meals Vitamin D3 5000 mg 1 tablet a day. On sat. and sun. 2 tablets. MSM/glucoseamid 1000/1500 2 a day The only items on this list that have any merit are the D3 tablets (studies suggest that they can reduce onset of Alzheimer's later in life), and MSM/Glucoseamid chonroidont for cartilage repair. When I showed the list of vitamins to my step-father (A doctor), he asked me if the doctor medical provided was Native American. To add insult to injury, I did not have any vitamin deficiencies. He misread the chart. What the hell is stinging nettle, lol? Wow, unreal. I have to ask, whether or not Rotman is receiving any sort of compensation for these sorts of lobbying, or any other sort of financial kickbacks. Next, there are some suspicious activity in the office, and the management (what management? is so inefficient, I've had faster service in Emergency rooms than a routine visit for an x-ray analysis. I kid you not, I waited over an hour for the doctor to simply say "X-ray's show nothing wrong with right leg." Oh, but maybe they were running late, and their caseload was disproportionately high. But, there were only two people ahead of me with no one in the waiting room? Over an hour for that? Seems so inefficient. Receptionists are unfriendly and unknowledgeable about professional protocols. They answer the phones, callously by saying "Doctor's office?" Vague, much? Also, did I mention that Dr. Rotman, who saw me a total of three times, and had my charts, did not know who I was. He even misplaced my ultrasound. I understand that I have mediCAL, and theoretically, I don't "pay" any of it except what is withheld from my paycheck, and my taxes (So if clearly do pay for it), but I'd venture to say any other place certainly would be far better than this. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it just gets worse. Insofar as being a business and a profession is concerned, this place needs to start considering different alternatives to their modus operandi. Her receptionist is creepy and Dr. Gold prescribes "Russian ointments" in UNMARKED urine bottles that she swears will cure Psoriasis and blemishes. She orders TONS of unnecessary tests. My husband had high blood pressure, she made him get an ultrasound. I was told to get an ultrasound as well as an eye exam. WTH? My eyes are fine! Thankfully our insurance covered all the ridiculous amounts of bloodwork on both of us, who are healthy. Please run far, far away from this office. I picked a name out of a book for the HMO I had a couple years ago. Preferring a female doctor I chose Marina Gold. I never had a reason to see her until having some unexpected major surgery and after being released from the hospital I was told to go see my GP for a check up. So when I finally meet Dr Gold she was horribly underwhelming. She insisted on selling me vitamins and supplements that I had to pay for because she said my insurance wouldn't cover them. She also gave me a sample prescription of VIOX (an arthritis medicine) and a sleeping pill for pain... When I later saw my surgeon he was shocked that any doctor would give me that. She tried to pressure me into buying another $200 in vitamins the next time I was there. I said I'd have to check with my husband before I spent the money. Her response was that I should write her a check, take the pills home then and that she would hold my check until I called her... um... yeah right. We can all see where that was leading. She kept insisting that after surgery my body would not heal correctly unless I had these pills. Needless to say I walked out and never went back. IN short AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you're into getting worthless and unuseful free drug samples. read more

Receptionist was very insensitive to my situation and wish to get in quickly to review my condition so I could be referred to a dermatologist (to actually deal with the issue). Malpractice... I was referred to Marina by a friend of a friend (obviously illinformed) that she would be able to help with my allergies. I specifically stated over phone that I just wanted to see how much an allergy test would be...the receptionist told me to come and we'd discuss. I ended up being charged $150 to have this woman walk into a room, without ever looking me in the eyes, then telling me my insurance wouldn't cover this allergy test that she said was "necessary" if I ever wanted to get better. Then once leaving I got pressured to pay for the same allergy test by the receptionist (repeatedly). I am now researching avenues I can take to get my money back and am writing a complaint to the medical board... This "doctor" and her people are crooks, avoid at all costs. read more

Dr. Marina Gold is simply amazing human being and outstanding medical professional. Our whole family have relied on her since 1990's. You have to be patient with smaller practices - yes, there is a wait period, but because you are not a number and are treated as a person, and Dr. Gold does not look at a watch just to get done with you... thus the inevitable stretch between appts. Even if you encounter problem with front desk, it does not/should not reflect on Dr's proficiency. She has immense amount of schooling on two continents, more experience in her little finger than any other doctors we've seen throughout years. Let me tell you, I am so fed up with this office. If I wasn't so broke, I would have switched offices after the first visit. As far as the actual doctors I've seen, I don't have any particular complaints. They have been friendly and helpful, but am not surprised by what other patients are saying in their reviews. My main problem seems to be similar to everyone else's on here...WTF is up with the management and front desk employees? They always seem completely disorganized and less than knowledgable in their field (or if they are they just don't seem to care?). I've tried to give slack as I know how crazy it can be working a desk job like that as well as managing a team, but this is absurd. They have dropped the ball on my medications multiple times...including right now. I moved and called last week to have them send my scrips to a different location which as I found out today, they never did. It is a medication that is very clearly time-sensitive. I called this morning to remind them and the guy at the front desk said it would happen before the end of the day. Of course the end of the day approaches, so I call to check. No action was taken and none of my info was passed along in any way. Monica, who answered, immediately got an attitude with me and talked over me as I expressed my concern. I understand it wasn't her specifically who messed up this particular time, but I know I am definitely valid in being stern with them - especially since they have messed up this way multiple times. If you're answering the phone, you are representing your practice no matter who did the thing specifically. I would definitely urge all who read this to avoid this office. Dr. Gold is the best doctor I have ever met in my life. If I could give Dr. Marina Gold and her staff a million stars, I would. They have literally been lifesavers, and they are the most kind, compassionate, and responsive people I have encountered in Los Angeles. This review is coming from someone who works in the medical profession. If you have the NEED to see her IMMEDIATELY because you are terribly sick, she will do everything to get you in same for a same day appointment. BTW her Emergency line is a real line with real people who actually answer the phone instead of sending you to voice mail. I felt like she genuinely wanted to help and that is very rare with most doctor's these days. I didn't feel like a number when I was at her office. Disgusting ... Another experience The whole staff went to lunch for an hour while patients including myself with appointments waited because The whole office waited until a pharmaceutical rep brought and bought them lunch and she was late .... The receptionist always answers her personal cell phone even if you are right in front of her asking questions concerning your appointment or prescription etc ... Every single time I come in they ignore me. They neglected to advise me not to eat before I had mine, and so my results were compromised and useless. They ended up billing my insurance company over $800.00 just for a check up!. This doctor is a QUACK--I went for a routine exam--she charged Aetna (and it trickled down to me and my flexible spending account) for ALL sorts of tests that are not routinely done for people my age. She also tried extremely hard to get me to sign up for body wraps that would help my "obesity" I need to lose about 20 lbs and have been losing steadily through healthy eating and exercise--she says..."that's all great, but you won't fully look good until you use these wraps" This doctor also tried to talk me into purchasing an herbal remedy that they sell at their office in an unmarked jar which isn't covered by any insurance company (so she wanted cash or credit card) Offered to diagnose me as obese so that i could apply for a care credit card and pass the body wrap treatments off as medically necessary. Can we give people negative stars? I chose this practice because it was close but I wouldn't recommend her to my worst enemy. On the day of my first session, after waiting 1 hr to be seen, I was seen for 4 minutes..then watched her fill out a billing sheet for 30 minutes. She didn't even leave the room when she asked me to change into a gown! She just turned around? When I told her I was worried about some serious side effect I've been experiencing since the head injury i sustained after a nasty bike spill, she asked to squeeze her hands and tested my gaze. Her office staff is even worse. I have watched them play a game when speaking with insurance companies on the phone. They pass the phone back and fourth and make up different names of who they pretend to me. I guess that explains why the referral I went in to get 6 weeks ago was not submitted. I have been seeing Dr. Gold since approximately 1996 and she is one of the most caring doctors I know. I have seen many doctors to get help for my medical problems, but none took the time to be concerned about all my health issues except Dr. Gold. Yes she suggested (never forced) that I take vitamins not covered under my medical plan, but other doctors have done so also. Her health care center is excellent with pain management and holistic anti-aging treatment. I will continue to receive excellent medical treatment from Dr. Gold. read more

I had to go to this office to get a referral to see another doctor. They were very accommodating. They got me in quickly for an appointment. The staff was friendly. The physician's assistant who saw me was great. I didn't see Dr. Gold and that could be why my experience was pleasant. I went in expecting the worst after reading the reviews but I had no problems. Dr. Marina Gold, when practicing committed fraud with other Persians with car accident claims that were not true. She was the Preferred Doctor of choice for fraudulent claims within that community. She would have those comrades come in once and sign one piece of paper with different dates on it claiming those patients came in for treatment on those dates and she would bill for services never rendered. Worse than that she was also the Doctor of choice for the pedifiles in that community for them to bring in children the men thought they may have gotten pregnant and she perform pregnancy tests and exams with the children with no knowledge or consent from their children. This place is a hell hole.. incompetent Doctors and staff everywhere.. super unsanitary and on top of that Dr. Gold needed to do a testicular exam and prior to performing the exam, while my pants were down, she as me if I feel sexually harassed or uncomfortable with the exam WTF.. I have had 100s of physicals and never once had a real professional ask a ridiculous and sketchy question like that before.. and even tho this is personal it must be said, on top of that after already having a low T blood test of 246, we do another blood test and it comes back 222 and Dr. Gold tells me nothing is wrong.. when I ask how 24 ng/dl lower is not a problem and she says what is that you want from me.. I told her I would like you to diagnose the issue and she says "You American men just do drugs and party and think there isn't consequences, just want to party party party all night on drugs and pump pump pump til morning but that's not how it works and then told me I should stop going to raves, having sex, and doing drugs.. and then writes me a script for Viagra..?!??! Hahaha..she is seriously a QUACK.. After that visit I never returned.. please read my review of Marina Gold's Santa Clarita location.. Its just a bunch of nurse practitioners and when you call them over the phone the receptionist puts you on hold for 10 minutes then hangs up on you. My old doctor had my referrals sent to me within 5 days. Its been over 10 days with them and they still haven't sent mine in for authorization. I used to see Dr. Gold 5 years ago when I had insurance through my job and could pick my own PPO doctor to see. I choose her then and now that I don't have a job I have the obama care and I still choose her. I went back to this office and was saddened to hear Dr. Gold was on a temporary leave but I decided to trust whoever she left in charge of her office. The reason I liked her back then when I first went to her was because she was VERY thorough and for some of the reasons people on previous posts complain about her I appreciated her. She took out several blood tests which I was greatly she did because she was able to rule out many things I could have had but didn't and did also find things I had wrong that I didn't know about. She was open-minded and listened to my concerns and even listened to what my family doctor (who doesn't take HMO) recommended. I appreciated her doing all these tests for me because I was frustrated that most doctors don't want to keep searching once one thing comes back "normal" or "negative". I appreciated her trying natural supplements instead of just giving me harmful, chemical drugs! Thank you Dr. Gold. I am happy with your office then and now. I picked her name out of the list for my aged mom's HMO. This is the worst doctor I could ever have imagined. When I took my mom in for very sudden delirium, agitation and confusion she told me to put her in hospice and said I shouldn't try to prolong her life. Dr. Gold's office is often closed or the doctor is not in. They have lost test results and important papers to be signed more than once. Twice when I visited the office other patients came out either crying or angry. Doctor Gold has the bedside manner of Doc Martin without the expertise. I ignored what the doctor said and after a change in environment and a couple of months my mom is much better. The delirium, agitation and confusion has faded away and she is getting stronger, more able and happier every day. She will probably outlive us all, no thanks to help from any doctors. This doctor may be OK for beauty treatments, but that's all she seems qualified for. read more

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Gold for quite some time now and by accident, while searching for something else on the internet, I came across and was utterly shocked by negative comments that I've read on this website about her and her practice. It's almost like they are describing some other person with the same name....as I and my family members have not experience anything even remotely close to that described and instead, have nothing but outstanding things to say about her and her staff! In fact, we've often discussed amongst ourselves, that she is a throwback to days gone-by, where the doctor would make house-calls on their patients. In this day and age of doctors making you wait forever to see them and then, to only spend a minute or two with you in what I can best describe as an uncaring manner, rendering quick decisions without taking the time to really understand what is going on with you - Dr. Gold has been a breath of fresh air and has even taken after-hour phone calls and or, called back to offer the best in assistance. It's almost as if she never is not working, as she has always been there for my family and I, no matter the hour, while the care that she provides is and has always been first-class. As further proof of that, we've referred many friends, relatives, co-workers and even neighbors to her offices in both Glendale and Santa Clarita, and all have reported back glowing reports of the services and care that they received and continue to receive and, were ever so grateful that we cared enough to refer her and her practice to them. Finally, she really does know her stuff and more than once, has suggested a test of something that prior to, had gone un-noticed by other specialist and as salt in the wound, if caught earlier by those same specialist, would have saved us much in the way of unnecessary pain, worry, expense, etc. If you truly want to experience down-home, friendly medical attention by someone who truly cares about you and your health, WITHOUT charging you an arm and a leg for her expertise/services, then look no further than this wonderful doctor! read more

I've been coming to this office for almost two years and I need to say the only reason that I'm with them is because of the lady in front name 'Armine' which is really really helpful and she always tries her best to help us on any matter and any time as much as she can and compare to the other dr office workers, she is one of the best and I owe her a lot to help me during one of my most difficult time's of my life to take my authorizations faster and on time and even with the change of my insurance company which was a great help. This doctor(?) and I use the term loosely, is a quack and very dangerous. Crook! Quack! Evil! Horrible! Ship her out! She did microdermabraison on my face which left scars that will NEVER go away: that was 3 years ago. She had me coming into her office several times a month performing various procedures which were billed to MediCare. When I reported her to the fraud department of MediCare I was told that she had only billed them as office visits. The reason I went to her in the first place was to have my Thyroid medication renewed because my family doctor retired. I was referred to her by a friend. She ruined my face. She told me that she had to run several tests before she could authorize my medication. Ultra sound! Presso Therapy! Breathing machines, telling me I had lung disease (lie). X-rays and a few more machines and treatments that I can't even begin to list. This horrible woman should lose her practice. She is a crook and will continue her evil ways as long as people are fooled by her. I saw an attorney about my face and he said that I really couldn't "sue" her for more than medical battery, which is pretty had to prove since it is JUST my face! He said it would not be worth the time or trouble. He told me to try and get the records of the procedure she used on my face and GUESS WHAT? They had NO record of ever giving me such a treatment. I put one star because there isn't anything less than this. Horrible. Tried to call a thousand times for an appointment, they didn't answer. When they finally did, they were incredibly rude and distracted and told me to call back cause they were moving. I said, ok, but since you are in the middle of the move, and I don't know when you are done, could you please call me back? the ANNOYED answer was "YOU CALL BACK, IF YOU WANT AN APPOINTMENT!". I finally got an appointment. I got in and two esteticians or doctors, don't know, where SHOUTING AT EACH OTHER IN THE LOBBY FOR 10 MINUTES, NOT EVEN BOTHERING ABOUT CLIENTS. Then I have been harassed for 15 minutes by a person who was supposed to provide the service I was there for because apparently my coupon was not valid (it was a second groupon for the same service, and I know for a fact that it depends on the place, as some of them let you use as many as you want). Ok, even if they only accept one, I say that there is no reason to treat me as a thief, since the groupon was for $505!!!!! she started making phone calls telling my name and last name to an unknown person on the phone and she kept insisting "are you sure you haven't use this already??" HOW DARE YOU?? OF COURSE I AM SURE!! I have paid a lot of money!! I was so p... off that I took my stuff and went out.
