12 April 2014 Dear Yelp, I would like to document several examples of Jessica at Marin Tack and Feed responsible salesmanship. She owns Marin Tack and Feed in Forest Knolls. Her customer rapport shows how thoroughly she gives very good attention to the customer and the best fit and product for the money. Her honesty and friendly personality is consistent with her excellent service. I am a beginner rider and Jessica has gone way out of her way to fit me perfectly in pants, helmet, and shoes on three separate occasions. I have rarely seen a shop owner go out of her/his way to make sure the customer is completely taken care of with the utmost of respect. I have waited to get the best fitting possible, as Jessica would take care of another customer who had an easy sale, while mine were more detailed. In the case of my Paddock boots, it took many months trying to get one with a good fit with two other companies who were ordered due to my large shoe size (14) and they didn't follow through with the order even with several calls to check on their status. I also had a difficult time finding an appropriate boot on my own on the Internet. In this particular case, Ariat claims to have very accurate shoe sizes. All my shoes say size 14 and finally we got an Ariat size 12 and 13 and I prove to be a mid shoe foot, the 12's were a bit snug while the 13's were too big. Jessica kept measuring and finally suggested to have them stretched. She referred me to a suitable shoe repair shop in San Rafael and after several stretches they are the best fit. I learned my size is somewhere in the middle. Along with the good fit, they are the safest for me to ride in. I personally choose to go to a local shop rather than a company on the web to avoid the hassles I did on the phone, and to support the local merchants in Marin. Marin Tack & Feed is the best all around! If you're looking for anything, from riding apparell to chicken feed, you'll find it here! The selection is great, and so are the people. When you go in, employees won't just point from behind the counter, they show whatever it is to you personally, and they're all so great to talk to. The new location is amazing, and the store has even more room for great products. If you're not looking to buy anything, this is also a great place to sell stuff that is not in use anymore! The commission is great, and you'll know that whatever it is you're selling is going to someone who needs it. The owner and all of her employees are the sweetest and most helpful people! When they're helping you find something, they don't just throw out guesses as to what you need, they know all of their products extremely well, and what is just right for you. If you haven't been out to the new store, do it! If not for the products, just go for the people, because after your first visit, you'll be back for more! read more

The best one stop shop for equestrian needs as well as other farm animals. The owner it's extremely knowledgeable and won't bs you. She and her staff will go above and beyond to make sure you get what you need and want even if they have to order it. They are continually getting in new items and are gradually building their western tack and apparel. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for great customer service and an honest answer to any question. I also recommend disregarding Bob Y's review. I've been shopping at MT&F for years with no issues and the comfort of knowing that if something wasn't right that Jessica (the owner) would fix it. I LOVE Marin Tack and Feed. They sell great clothes, great tack and brushes, and they have things for dogs and cats. Jessica my godmother is also super nice, she has two cats at the store and she keeps them happy all day. Jessica also has three dogs out in the back yard! Her service is great she will fit the perfect fit even if it isn't the most expensive thing in the store (people like that are just hard to find these days!!) Thx, Cici P.S. I've been haunting tack shops for more than 20 years and they don't get any better than Marin Tack & Feed. Like many tack shops MT&F has a great selection of new and used equipment and clothing, as well as feed and supplements. What the other shops don't have is owner Jessica Lashbrook. Jessica is a knowledgeable, expert horsewoman and a perfectionist as well. She takes the time to make sure I have the right helmet, tack or clothing, even if it costs less than an item I was prepared to settle for as "close enough". That kind of service and integrity is hard to find these days. Great selection, great service. read more

Excellent Place for all things HORSEY, Dog, Cat, Chicken, Rabbit..etc I've shopped for my riding apparel here and they have the best quality merchandise around. It's also super friendly and owned and operated by a longtime Marin family who are very knowledgeable and experienced equestrians. They know what they are doing! I've sent everyone I know who rides there to be fitted for equipment and they all come back with the sames experience: friendly, knowledgeable staff. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helped me research supplements that cured my horse from his chronic skin condition. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs help with a horse problem! She recently helped me order a new custom saddle for my hard-to-fit horse, from putting me in touch with the company's expert saddle fitter to fixing the order which came in with the wrong sized girth. I really appreciated her attentiveness and follow-though with the saddle company, and now am a very happy camper! read more

This place is awful!!!!! Don't buy anything here. 1 too expensive and 2 the owner will lie to you to make the sale. Her scam is to sell you the wrong crap and not accept return but then with a smile she will say that she will sell it for you on consignment. So now she made the money from your sale plus another 40% in consignment fees. Stay away from this place. The owner is a scam artist. read more

The owner Jessica has a well put together store. She has the best selection and she had exactly what I needed for showing: helmet, saddle and boots. She was very helpful with finding my sizes and made suggestions for other things I might like. Everything I tried and purchased, was made of excellent quality materials. read more

This is one of the nicest Mom & Pop tack stores in this area. I've always found their service to be first rate, friendly, and very knowledgeable concerning horse equipment.
