    Martini and manhattan

This place gets 5 stars for old school charm and quirkiness but the decor needs a refresh and so does the menu. Servers are friendly and witty with a wry humor of folks that know their dry martinis and steak dinners. Even the valet parkers are charming and cool. I loved my martini but that was the highlight of the meal. The Caesar salad was nice but a little soggy, the petrole sole suffered from a similar water logged tendency. I want to come back to find the perfect dish but am in no hurry.

I took a nice drive with family to this really nice restaurant called Marin Joes restaurant really great Ambiance the service was amazing and the food was Epic I ordered the porterhouse with a side of ravioli with Parmesan cheese on top now let me tell you the Aujus is extremely delicious and definitely on point the real deal . The flavors from it and the porterhouse comes together so smoothly . The Au jus is extremely delicious and addictive you just can't stop won't stop. So yeah we're done this way. Come on through. You definitely will enjoy it because they do it right here. Well, I'm not trying to be rude, but I have to attend to my epic food now.

As always it is perfect! I had the Caesar salad, then Chicken Parm with Spaghetti and Meat sauce. All is delicious! Dessert was Zabaglione, and that is a very special dish and difficult to find. A superb meal, and so much fun sitting at the counter and watching the grill. Such a great dinner. Highly recommended!

Always a good time and good meal at Marin Joes! The hamburgers are my go to for lunch to dinner time meals. But the breakfast is always great too. The staff is very friendly and will give you specials and their favorites. They've got a nice bar if you're going to celebrate something, or just want to unwind. Nice booths for groups of 4 and tables set up in the back room for larger groups.

A great classic that makes me feel nostalgic for homemade Italian food with great staff. I have to say, we had reservations for 6:45pm and we were on time and had to wait 30 minutes for our table. Not good when you are hangry. Our waiter, Pete, who has been at Marin Joe's forever was absolutely great! He totally changed my mood instantly. Loved his personality & his candor. Great characters that work at Marin Joe's. Ambiance at the bar area was casual with the tv playing SF 49er's vs Las Vegas Raiders. Not too loud but just right. Food was 9 out of 10! Great great great Italian food. I would have given a 10 if I got the fresh pasta but even still... mouth watering, hot, spiced right perfect & delicious! Thank you for your giving us a place to gather and have great food.

This restaurant is also a bit away from the downtown / wharf area and so also somewhat less crowded. It still had quite a bit of queue to order. Patrons need to order food / drinks at the counter first and then look for a table . Which makes things kind of tricky. When I went, there were still a few empty tables. But I could see , people who arrived a bit later, had to wait around for tables to be vacated. Which spoils the experience a bit. They had a few vegetarian / vegan options. Had the Butternut squash hummus - Felt fresh, and was tasty, though didn't get a strong squash flavor Side of falafels - These were tasty and freshly made. Marinated Beets - Not much flavor , but made for a healthy side Dark Chocolate pudding - I think it had been kept refrigerated , until served and so felt more like eating a frozen dessert and less like a pudding.

Happy hour is 4-6 pm at the "bar section" only, separate from the main restaurant. Go early as its first come first serve. I tried the crispy buffalo wings which was good. Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.

We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!
