There is always someone who answers the phone during business hours, which is not always the case with other salons. They treat clients like gold. They are not the least expensive place around, but they are skilled stylists who listen to what you want and offer suggestions about how to achieve your desired look. I am a wash, blow dry, and go type of gal, so I appreciate a hair style that has style & bounce when I do ZERO to it. The highlights were so subtle & tasteful. Its the best color I have ever had. Tips- One down fall was that parking was tricky, so I suggest you park right in the back where Max Fish is to avoid getting caught in the square. I tried to find Lisa, but was unsuccessful. SO, I needed to find someone else to "do" my hair. I did, and the result was the HAIRSTYLE FROM HELL!!!!! Ugh, my hair was a disaster - the color was all wrong and the cut was even worse! So, I lived with it for a few days and simply couldn't take it any more (neither could my husband!). So, last night, in desperation, I tried to find someone who could "fix" the problem. I found Renee at Sundance! She is an angel! First of all, Sundance has an online appt. booking system, so, no matter what time of day or night, you can make an appt. - It is soooo easy! Secondly, the place is simply terrific...a nice atmosphere - not caddy or noisy...just a relaxing place to spend some time. Chatter is relaxed and comfortable. Renee actually LISTENED to what I wanted done and she came up with some great suggestions which, in essence, saved my hair (and probably my marriage!) I left there feeling validated, pampered and pretty....what more can you ask for! FYI - they have a massage therapist, manicurist, etc. all on staff - this is a WONDERFUL, holistic salon!

And by all means do not rely exclusively on Yelp for your business choices. With this disclaimer stated, onto my review. I have been a customer of Blades for a solid 10 or more years. I come and go because I live quite a distance from the salon. However, when I want a drastic change or something uniquely me, Blades is the only salon I will visit and I almost always choose its owner, Jay as my stylist. To him, after a discussion, I typically allow full creative liberty l. Let me tell you this was only a blind act of trust the first time when I fell in love with his cuts, the salon and the professional and kind demeanor of every staff member I have ever encountered there. As a result I have become known as the woman who always has amazing hair; a thing I can take zero credit for except in my choice of salons. I hadn't visited the salon in about two years because again, I live over an hour away. I go be a local stylist who did a fair job of keeping hg my great ones and trimmed but had grown bored of the same haircut and style at every visit, even when I asked for change. Without hesitating I picked up the photo be and called Blades. They happened my fit me in for a cut with the owner very modestly priced at 80.00 within a week of my call. I walked out of that salon looking and feels by like a rock star. I'm have had manicures, pedicures and color treatments at Blades and each was a wonderful experiences I simply cannot rave enough about this salon. The entire model is based around be growth and keeping up with current trends. The locale, set inside of a Victorian house in the historic district of Wethersfield, enhances the experiences and takes you beyond a cut and style into the realm of day spa. In all the years I've been going to Blades it is the only salon I have seen every single slinger walk out of looming like the cover of a magazine and it is the ONLY place u will ever recommend without reservation to everyone I know.
