Delicious food and friendly service. Our first time to eat here. If we lived closer, we would come here a LOT!

The food was excellent. However, they allowed a young boy (about 12 years old) take our order. We ordered a Hot Pot of soup which wasn't brought out. My husband's order was correct. I ordered Yum Woon Sen which is a SALAD. They brought out Pad Woon Sen which is a NOODLE DISH. I had pointed at what I ordered when I ordered. After it came out, I got a menu and pointed to the correct dish and said, "This is what I ordered; I don't think that this is right!" She assured me that it was right. Studying the menu, I saw the difference and when she came back, I said, "I don't think that you should have that little boy taking orders! THIS is what I ordered, THIS is what I got!" She smiled and said, "Sorry!" Not, "We'll get you what you ordered or offering to correct their mistake!" Since I pointed at the menu, both at the order and my original questioning of the order, it wasn't a language barrier. They just didn't care and didn't want to make it right! read more

Another surprise of a find while driving back to Milwaukee! I'm vegetarian so fast food and gas store options, especially right off the interstate, usually offer limited options. But this place had a great selection as well as a small spicy chart (1-5) on the menu. Choose your spiciness! Phenomenal decision especially in the Midwest leaning seem to be spice avoidant. The restaurant was clean, bright, and welcoming. We had an attentive and knowledgeable server which I appreciate as we were in a long haul trip. This used to be a really solid Thai restaurant in Little Mechanicsville, but it seems that it's changed management or ownership but the name remains. I wouldn't consider the menu or what I got to be Thai food. They didn't ask me how hot I wanted it to be. My tofu and veggies ended up seeming much more alike soup and not in a good way. This is s very small restaurant with outdated decor. Not very impressive with booths that had visible wear on the seats. The order was to be taken by a young boy, probably the owner's kid. He was not able to answer questions about the food ingredients. The owner/manager stepped in and clarified the ingredients. The food was tasty. read more

Amazing food and amazing service. This place has high review with good reason. They are also very generous with their portions. I purchased a small Tum Yum soup and they gave me four shrimp with it. That is a massive plus. Other places would given me two. I still think that is reasonable for a bowl, but the fact they gave more is kind of them. Don't let their upholstery fool you, the seats are worn because they get high traffic because of the food. I truly enjoyed my meal and we would come back again. read more

We went to Marigold Thai for the first time and had a great experience! They were kind enough to reserve a table on Mother's Day for my son and fiancé's engagement luncheon. The chicken pad Thai was wonderful and the Marigold Fried Rice was tasty! My daughters got the spicy and loved it. The salad that comes with the entrees was great as well as the spring rolls. The service was excellent and, although it's a smaller restaurant and had a cozy atmosphere, it was preferred on this occasion to a larger, noisy restaurant. I was staying at a nearby hotel chain off the highway out of convenience for an early client meeting and didn't want to venture out far for food as I was already tired, and run into this little gem !!! The Tom Yum with tofu was very flavorful with the right sourness and crisp tomato slices that added a very nice touch. Very good! The pad thai and red curry were really nice flavors. For gluten free we specified steamed tofu instead of fried tofu. The staff were very conscientious of diners and the many pick up orders. The restaurant has an intimate feel with a nice vibe and decor. One of my absolute favorite go-to restaurants! Spent my 50th birthday here and everything was on point!! The service is excellent and the food is amazing! We really enjoy the wontons, crispy spring rolls, chicken penang, drunken noodles with beef and the garlic fried rice!! When it's a rainy day or we are really hungry it is our go to, and most of the time they really know how to spice things up!! The restaurant is small but cozy and they are happy to walk you through the menu, whether seasoned veteran or total noob. I wish I had pics but we devoured everything! We moved to Virginia from New Jersey a month ago. We were concerned about finding good restaurants here, and after visiting Marigold, our concern quickly dissapeared. I don't sling out a whole lot of five star reviews, but dang this place was delicious! It is a typical Thai place with a typical time menu, so there's nothing particularly outstanding or different about that aspect. What was amazing to me was the flavor of the food. I eat a lot of Thai food, and I have been to a lot of places that claim to have Thai food. This stuff was just seasoned perfectly, cooked, perfectly, presented perfectly, and absolutely what I was really hoping to have for lunch. I went off the beaten path a little bit and ordered the broccoli and garlic dish, and my son ordered the drunken noodles. Both were fantastic. On top of all that, the server was attentive and friendly. It is kind of hard to get to because of construction that is going on around it, but it is well worth the effort to get there. Unfortunately, this place is a little bit of a distance from my home, but I think I will come back anyway because it was really just that good. Why do all the great Thai restaurants have to be hole in the wall joints? This little gem is in a strip mall and could easily go unnoticed. The staff are welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food was awesome! We have been twice now and it was great both times. The pad stir fry was yummy, the pad garlic sublime, the drunken noodles were stellar - I think the best I ever had. Portion sizes are nice too. The place is clean to be sure but the ambience a little lacking. Hopefully, if they continue to be successful, they can invest in some nicer booths. That being said, do NOT let this be a deterrent or you will miss out on some of the best Thai food around. read more

The guy at the front asks you if you need things and says he'll get them, then another employee asks the same and does it all... yikes. Food is good but be prepared to sit.
