Great park for toddlers on up. They turn on the fountains in summer months and it's a great place to cool off.

Cunningham Park got it's name in 1934, this park has developed into a headquarters for countless athletic leagues, animals, playmates, and barbecue enthusiasts. I had a BBQ here once I had to get here early and they is information on when you need to reserve a spot. I see that they installed EV charging units with solar panels. This is an upgrade because Electric Vehicles weren't able to get a charge before. Believe it or not, this place provides opportunities for kite flyers, if I'm not mistaken, I may have flew one here once. The bathroom were decent but people over packed the trash cans around the track which is very unattractive but hey, it takes Every Kinda People, to make this world go around, Robert Palmer said that, I didn't. Cunningham Park is a hidden gem for a solid, peaceful walk without having to leave the city. I took…read morethe Cunningham Loop via the AllTrails app, and it was exactly what I needed--manageable, scenic, and well-marked. The trail itself is a mix of dirt paths and paved sections, with enough tree cover to make it comfortable even on a warmer day. The loop isn't overly strenuous, but it gives you a good walk--perfect for clearing your head or getting in some low-impact cardio. I appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was, and it felt safe, even solo. You'll pass a mix of joggers, dog walkers, and families, but it never felt crowded. There aren't many elevation changes, so don't expect a hike, but for a refreshing, straightforward walk with nature and fresh air, this loop is a win.

It's a beautiful day to be surrounded by nature…read more My parent's house in Oakland Gardens is close to Alley pond park, so I am able to walk the trails anytime I want. There are no sharp inclines or steep, rocky hills. I like to walk these trails to admire nature and all it's worth. The lake that I came across while walking today made me want to jump in and swim(not sure if that's allowed). Aside from the trails, there are other little playgrounds in the area that might appeal to children.

I have always enjoyed coming to this park due to its natural scenery, trails, and amenities. Thumbs up to their Environmental Center which is very helpful in providing educational programs. I like the availability of car parking and multiple entrances, though some trails are better than others. The best part that I enjoy in this park is it marks the start/end of the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway trail path, it is historic, a scenic trail for walking, running, and biking, a beautiful, green space that offers a break from the city, and the paved path connects it to other parks. The trail path extends about 3 miles which makes it a 6 miles trekking distance out and back. In most weekend mornings, there is a great chance that you might see me walking/biking on this trail, so, see you there.

Operating on donations and community funds to share love and respect for nature to all. I've been coming here since I was 10, when they had the other space, and I'm happy to see they have renovated! All of the animals are very cared for. For those who say the animals are confined to a small space, I want to let you know that they aren't. They're taken out both in the mornings before opening, and in the afternoon after they're closed to the public. The birds are not let out during typical business hours for the most part because of the risk of them flying away hence the locked entrance which requires you to ring a doorbell. This is only for their safety, but be assured that they are happy! If they weren't they would definitely show signs of distress like plucking or other nervous behaviors. You can go in and get a free tour, get shown animals and even have the opportunity to pet some of the guinea pigs for example. I believe this is such a vital part of the Queens community. The staff take good care of the surrounding trails, and even have food drives and clothes drives for the community. Wonderful place to visit always.

Beautiful park!…read more Trails are pretty clearly marked! Bathrooms are cleaned and I saw a guy appearing to be sanitizing the women's room. During warmer weather, you will see everything from tai-chi classes, yoga, zumba, volleyball, soccer, bird watching, Frisbee etc. This is a great meeting location for all that love the outdoors and being active. The NYC Parks Department usually list all the activities on their website. Also a good spot for barbecuing or picnicking. The grills and tables are provided.
