I did have to wait a little bit longer than some of the other people waiting but I was a new patient so I had more paperwork to take care of and they were returning patients. The nurse brought me back and took all my information down. She was very friendly which is wonderful when you're telling a stranger your sensitive personal information. The exam room was decorated very well also so that along with the friendliness of the nurse made me feel really comfortable. The doctor that I had was Janice Reynolds and she was also very friendly. She asked a few more questions about my health history than the nurse did it was still relaxing and I didn't feel uncomfortable about anything. The exam itself was very quick and nothing out of the ordinary. Before she left Janice let me know that they will call me with the results whether they're good or bad which I like because it's nice to know what's going on with your body.

If you're lucky, about 5 minutes (10-15 more likely) a staff member with an iPad approaches you to see if you've been checked in. I get that its supposed to feel more comfortable and less like a doctors office, but they really need someone to stay out there. Wait times are typical of any doctor I've been to (between 10 and 30 minutes). The real reason I am giving this specific office and the specific doctor, Deidre Russell a 1 star review is lack of bedside manner and failure to communicate anything. On more than one occasion she made me make an appointment to get test results that could have easily been given over the phone. Not only that but she didn't even give them to me, she sent someone else in to do it and they had to go ask her what to do next and she STILL didn't bother coming in.

After this last time, I will not be going back as I value my life and don't believe they would have saved it tonight. I suffered a stroke in December and now have functional seizures. In February, I went in with seizures and they sent me home and labeled it as a psych issue until I corrected them on it. Two days later I was in the ICU at Chandler Regional. This evening, I went in with stroke symptoms (face drooping, weakness, unable to talk) and it was not taken seriously. From the start they kept asking me questions and I couldn't answer because I couldn't speak. They also kept trying to get me to sit up and I could barely stand but I somehow managed. There was also no rush, it didn't seem like they cared that every moment was crucial should it have been a true stroke like I've had in the past. The nurse was also very aggressive with me and I quote said "she has shit for veins" and persisted to poke me 5 times until another nurse got the IV. One of the times, she hit a nerve and it sent a shock like pain throughout my entire arm. Since I'm already on blood thinners I bruise pretty easily but 5 pokes? It was time to get someone else because I am a hard stick. The whole time though she was very rough with me including throwing my weak arm around like a ragdoll. Then, I sat there in a room wondering what next steps were for several minutes which is unacceptable when it comes to strokes. The dr came in and from the beginning, he seemed very dismissive like he didn't believe me. I have a long history of strokes and TIA's and realistically, they should have transferred me knowing the long list of neurological issues. The dr also offered to treat me for a headache which I never received and after you have a stroke or TIA, you have a very bad headache. I've also been labeled a drug seeker there even when I never ask for pain meds. I imagine I'll end up back in ICU again within the week and if this place did their job correctly, things wouldn't progress to the level they do because they just send people home. Shame on you exceptional. It seems you blanket everyone under the same bucket and don't believe people even when they have symptoms right in front of you.
