Many doctors suggested hearing aids. After about a year of seeing the wrong doctors, I found Jacob Ossoff who referred me to Dr Cassis. My Dignity Chandler experience in the observation area was horrible. the cubicles resemble cells…read more The ac froze me all night. Earlier staff were heard saying "68 is plenty warm for them ". This unit temp is centrally controlled at the nursing station. The ac vent for my cubicle was directly above my bed. I was admitted with pneumonia and sepsis. Cold air pouring down on my chest and very arthretic joints caused me unrelieved pain all night. I had on a hoodie and a fleece robe over my hospital gown. Staff brought heated thin blankets. They offered brief relief until they cooled down. I complained bitterly all night about the cold. I had the covers pulled up over my nose because even my nose was freezing! When day shift arrived the caregiver told me "I felt bad for you after I got home because you were so cold." She helped me go outside to get warm in the morning AZ sun. Getting warm eased my joint pain considerably. Coming in someone from day shift said to us, "the thermostat is right here. I'll turn it up". I'm sure the night shift considered me a problem patient because I complained bitterly all night about freezing and the cold increasing my arthritis pain. Why they would put up with a complaining cranky patient rather than turn the ac to 70 is beyond me. The nurse told me "we have 20 beds and only 2 bath rooms." They wanted me to use a bedside commode. I am old but ambulate at a quick pace with walker. The only relief I had from my ice box cubicle was walking to the bathroom. For safety they accompanied me. Staff let me know it was a major inconvenience to walk with me to the bathroom. Patients, especially elderly folks, can develop blood clots from not getting. Their convenience and comfort were more important than patients welfare! I have been a patient at Dignity Mercy. I have nothing but good to say about that experience. I was also a patient at This hospital Dignity Chandler for 5 days in June with pneumonia and sepsis. No complaints only praise. Because of this horrible freezing experience and judgemental uncaring night staff in the observation area. I will do everything I can to never come here again. Marlene Hickman

I was suffering from a severe headache for over 5 hours. I called the on-call doctor at my PCP's…read moreoffice and he highly suggested I go to an Emergency Department. We went to Arizona General on Ellsworth and Elliot. From the minute we walked in to register until I left there was pleasant helpful staff. We arrived around 9pm, Emily at registration was kind and quickly got me registered. About two minutes later I starting receiving text updates about my wait time. These texts continued throughout my stay in the ED, keeping me up to date on my progress. AND, this morning I received another text offering help to find a PCP and make a follow up appointment!! The Triage team saw me within 20 minutes, and about 10 minutes later I was called back to a room. Dr. Okafor came into the room, listened to my symptoms, and immediately told me he would be ordering a CT scan and blood work. All the tests, blood work, CT scan, were done so quickly, I was truly astonished. Gratefully, nothing was seriously wrong, and I was informed I'd be going home. Karla, RN, explained all my discharge paperwork instructions very clearly, my IV was removed, and we were on our way home. This entire process was so quick and efficient! We arrived around 9 pm and we were back in our home at 12:03 am, this is including our drive time. THANK YOU to Karla RN, Michelle patient financial services, Krystal Lab Tech, Dayna Imaging Tech, and Dr. Okafor for all your attention, excellent care, and quickly moving me through. I was disappointed with my experience. I called ahead to ask if I could come early for bloodwork…read moreand was told that would be fine, and that if my provider needed additional labs after the appointment, I could return for those. Based on this, I arranged childcare and planned my day accordingly. When I arrived, I was told the bloodwork had not been ordered and that the office preferred to wait until after the appointment in case additional labs were needed, to avoid a second trip. This was the opposite of what I had been told on the phone and ultimately resulted in the additional trip I was trying to avoid. Had I been told it was simply an oversight, I would have understood. Instead, it was framed as being for my convenience, despite the prior instructions I had received. I cancelled my appointment and will be looking for a new PCP. I hope the office can improve communication so patients receive consistent and accurate information. Edited to add: I am an established patient with this office. While it had been a few years since my last visit, I had previously been seen here and the office assisted me with updating my name. I wanted to clarify this because the response from the office suggests otherwise.

HOWEVER upon arriving it was obvious the check in lady was new (which is fine as long as there's obvious effort in improving or learning the ropes.) She was extremely slow to check me in, did not make eye contact, was so quiet I could barely hear her (god forbid you're hard of hearing). Did not even check my demographics, which were all wrong and misspelled. I arrived 30 min early to my appointment and ended up not even filling out paperwork or medical release forms which is important when I'm trying to establish a pediatrician for my kids to have continuity of care. The NP was fine. She reassured me my kiddo was okay and let me know what to watch out for. However she finished up and left the room without even checking my baby's belly (she was in for vomiting). She did came back inside to do the physical portion of the exam thank goodness. Overall the visit cost me $230+ for what I felt was subpar medical care. I would not recommend using banner as PCP especially for CHILDREN. They are the most vulnerable of our population and deserve pediatric care that is excellent or at least decent. I will not be coming back and hope they improve their standard of care. In the case of an emergency or a serious illness it does not sit well that the staff cannot even get something as simple as names and date of births correct. I'm sure the doctors are great but if your front desk/ first people you see are incompetent it ruins the overall quality of your practice.
