Dr. Hatfield did a full knee replacement on me a few years back and he was fantastic. I loved that he was honest and upfront about what to expect--so many doctors sugar coat things (i.e. severe pain is not the same thing as "discomfort"). I healed up beautifully and went on my merry way. Now that my other knee is acting up, I'm back. I have full faith in Dr Hatfield's advice and care. He is not the doctor who insists you have a consultation first then sends you for X-rays then had you come back again for treatment. He had me get X-rays first then come in one time. He looked at them, diagnosed, and gave me my cortisone shot all in one quick visit. No nonsense! His staff is also very kind, knowledgeable, and caring.

While my Physical Therapist was personally very kind and attentive, I would only work with her for about 10-15 minutes per session and was then passed on to the assistants who were NOT attentive. They would give me my exercises to complete but rather than staying and ensuring I was doing them correctly would run to another patient and work with them, and then I would be sitting there for several minutes inbetween exercises waiting for the assistant to come back. I came three weeks in a row and every week was like this-the facility just seemed like they had too many patients scheduled at once and not enough employees to properly take care of all the patients. As someone who has done physical therapy at several facilities over the years I was disappointed in my care and would not recommend coming here. I gave it a two because I liked my physical therapist but if it wasn't for her I would give this facility a one.

PT spent her time eating granola bars and being on her computer, definitely not supervising the tech. A few times, I purposely did the exercise wrong and nobody corrected me. The tech was always working with multiple patients at a time. Another time, I was doing my exercise and I looked over and the tech was getting work done on herself by another therapist. Do yourself a favor and google search for a therapist who works on one patient at a time. And the front office staff is rude and inefficient.

Then it took the doctor another 40 minutes after my appointment time to see me. He hadn't looked over any of the test results I'd been asked to provide ahead of time. He joked throughout my whole appointment, I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable going under the knife with him. When it came time to check out the front desk, girl was nowhere to be found. I was told she would follow up with a lab order, but she never did. I ended up seeing another doctor who was punctual and professional.

I do not get all the hate in these reviews. Doctors do not magically know what is wrong with you…read morejust because you walked in and paid your co-pay. Furthermore, they dont want to immediately jump to surgery either as surgery may not fix it and may incur other issues. Calm down and trust the process, people. With that said, this is for the Porter/Shorter crew concerning my knee. Had ACL surgery long ago by another doctor which has generally done well. However I do get pain in same knee if I run. So I was fully prepared to go in and be told that my knee surgery 15yrs ago didnt quite fix it. But it turns out maybe I just have arthritis. I have spoken with the billing department at least 6 times, they claim to have an issue with medicare billing and I should call back in a week or two, every time. Note: when I went in for a 2nd appt, it was cancelled without my knowledge and the receptionist was very rude about it. In short, the dr is wonderful, if you get a chance to see him..
