Tacos with guacamole - get it!
Ed T.

Been here a couple of times now, and been pretty happy about the food on offer here. The tacos definitely hit the spot if you're looking for Mexican themed food, but I wouldn't call them the best tacos - as echoed by some of the others here. Chorizo is the best taco, and the veggie one was disappointing. The guacamole is great though, and would definitely go back for that alone! Otherwise, I'd probably only come back just on Taco tuesdays to take advantage of the deal they do! Otherwise the food is average to good, and not something I'd particularly go out of my way for. Defo worth trying, especially with their salsa and guac - but don't expect perfection!

Chorizo Con Papas quesadillas

Feeling a bit peckish before the Yelp event at Pop Up Brxiton started and saw people walking away with these generous portions of quesadillas. We couldn't resist and went and got one ourselves. Waiting time was roughtly 5-7mins as everything was made fresh. Very worth it though. Chorizo Con Papas So we got the quesadillas that comes in pairs. It was beautifully spiced and came with juicy chorizo paired with a lovely contrast of soft and fluffy potatoes. The tortilla was lovely, toasted slightly yet still pliable and doughy for that satisfying texture. The filling itself was in an oily bright orange mildly spiced braising sauce which probably came from the chorizo itself. But it added all the moisture and flavour needed with strong notes of paprika. The addition of the coriander and raw onions was very welcoming, giving the whole dish a good sharp kick to it which was very refreshing. It's nice to have a place that puts the time and effort into making such rich and flavoursome fillings for the tacos and quesadillas. Pretty decent for £5 for two quesadilla with no service charge needed. I definitely give this place another visit and maybe next time to try their tacos.

6 Tacos for £5 on a Tuesday. Pork and pineapple. Chick. Chorizo & potato. Veggie. With guacamole.

Service - 5/5 - Two guys were on the stall when we arrived. Both nice guys and talked us through the different options. Made us feel at home and we grabbed the stalls and pulled up over the grill and chatted for a while. Food - 4/5 - We happened to stumble across this place a Tuesday and they do 'Taco Tuesday' 6 Tacos for only £5. They do 4 different types of tacos, Pork, Chorizo, Chicken and a Veg Option. My preference was the Chorizo as it had small bits of potato and packed lots of flavour. The pork followed as a close second, it weirdly came with a small bit of pineapple, but worked really well. The chicken and veg options just seemed a bit plain and bland and I would just get the others. They have 2 hot sauces, warning, the red is insanely hot, but great if you like a kick. Overall really good, but they could possibly add a fish option or a different veg option, otherwise you could be stuck if you didn't eat meat. Would I recommend - Yes Would I come back - Yes Visit - 19/04/2016 (Evening)

During most of the week days, there are a bunch of pop-up food stands and the market gets swarmed with amazing smells. While trotting home one day, I saw a big Mexican flag waving towards the back end of the market. Quickly, I detoured during lunch time and headed through all the stalls to find Freebird Burritos. Swedish owned and operated, these fine Scandinavians made me one of the best carne asada (steak) burritos that I've had in London. The meat was lean and juicy and the spicing was excellent. Add in some tasty refried beans, cheese and a good helping of rice all wrapped in a tasty, albeit flour tortilla. So good and I can't wait to check out one of there other locations.

The staff is great (point 1), and they wrap their burritos like pros (point 2). Pork, beef, chicken and vegetarian burritos are options, as are fajitas and the "naked" burritos which basically shoves all the key burrito gear into a box without a tortilla. I'm not a big meat-eater, but the meat here is great...slow-cooked, no gristle, perfect bite-sizes, mega-tender. I always get an extra side of guac (60p) because it's a rule that avocado makes everything better. In my ideal world I'd add some more kick to it but, hey, that's being extremely picky. One burrito (6 pounds-ish, depending on your modifications) is more than enough for a hearty lunch. Which means I've never tested their chips or salsa or other things (but, note, they exist as options!). Yelp note: my new "secret sauce" is half HOT sauce half mild pico-de-gallo-style sauce. End result? A delicious medium heat. Y'welcome.

Good tacos with a nice atmosphere and decent margaritas…read more Came here with friends from work for a fast bite near our Brock-street office. We shared a big plate of taco ingredients and tortillas. It was all very good and the good news is that with the variety there was something everyone liked. The space was chill and upscale while also feeling trendy. The drinks were also nice, mostly margaritas. In the end, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember or come back for if I wasn't in the area, but it would probably make my easy list of places that won't disappoint near the office.

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.

Let me tell you, it was one of the best meals we had while we were in England for an entire month. Before we get to the food, I must give a shout out to the staff who were so warm, friendly and attentive. What we ordered: The short rib tacos for sharing. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was DIVINE. The meat was so well seasoned and flavorful and it was literally falling off the bone. No, seriously, they bring it to your table, bone and all, and shred the meat for you. It's served with unlimited tortillas and some fixings for your tacos such as pickled red onions cilantro, etc. Caesar salad: A good solid caesar salad. Not the best I ever had in my life, but it was fresh, not too much anchovy in the dressing and came with a ton of shaved parmesan on top. Elote corn: nice and flavorful, corn was not soggy. Great smoky flavor from the grill. Guacamole: fresh and flavorful. Margaritas: Well balanced, not too sweet and enough alcohol to where you could taste it but it didn't make you grimace. I ended up ordering 2. Beer: Not sure which beer, but my husband said it was his favorite one he tried our entire trip. Ambiance was great, decor was beautiful, lighting was well put together. It was nice as clean as well, no sticky seats / menus.
