We had a great experience at Margaritaville last night! The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, and everything came out quickly. The highlight of our visit was our waitress. She was from Bulgaria and had an accent, but she was very easy to understand. She was attentive, kind, and constantly checking on our table to make sure we had everything we needed. She kept our drinks full, brought anything we asked for promptly, and truly provided outstanding service. It was upsetting to see some people treating her poorly and blaming mistakes on the fact that she has an accent. She worked incredibly hard and did an amazing job. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, especially someone who is clearly putting so much effort into taking care of their customers. Felt the absolute need to update this 24 hours later. I forgot to mention below that my sister, niece, and nephew all have Celiac disease and we called beforehand to ask questions about their gluten options and we were ASSURED that the kitchen staff take food allergies VERY seriously. It's been 24 hours and my sister has been sick ALL morning with an upset stomach due to the fries that she ate that we were PROMISED by the staff that they would be fried in separate grease and no cross contamination would happen. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated right away. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. It took an hour and a half to get our drinks which were wrong. My parents margaritas were not frozen as requested. We placed our food orders. My sisters steak came out completely burnt. My brother in laws club sandwich came out with burnt toast. The sweet potato waffle fries and regular fries were so overcooked you couldn't even eat them. The shrimp in the seafood boil wasn't deveined and there was still shit in the shrimp. The potatoes in the boil were undercooked and the boil itself was under seasoned and bland. They tried charging me for 2 mocktails when I only had 1. My sisters salad was wrong and missing the requested shredded cheese. The server and managing intern were both very unpleasant to deal with. Reason for the deduction is that there are a number of employees outside restaurant trying to sell you the Margaritaville timeshare. Absolutely terrible customer service. If you have a party larger than 12, don't expect any flexibility or courtesy. We asked if we could sit at a nearby table with the rest of our family and were given permission by one manager. Minutes later, another manager, Trend, came over with a rude attitude and told us we couldn't sit there if we weren't ordering food. Assuming instead of asking if we have been attended by our waitress. The biggest issue was the complete lack of communication between management. We did exactly what we were told, only to be confronted afterward as if we had done something wrong. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager spoke to us in a disrespectful and confrontational manner that made our entire family feel unwelcome. While this was happening, the manager appeared to be more focused on flirting with our server than resolving the situation professionally. It seemed that is why he didn't want that table sat to give her special treatment. It certainly didn't give the impression that customer service was the priority. I've attached a photo from our visit. To top it all off, the food wasn't very good, and neither were the drinks. For the prices, we expected much better quality. If you're looking for a place that can actually accommodate large groups and offers better food, drinks, and customer service, you're better off going to The Back Porch instead. Margaritaville was such a great experience! The ambiance was beautiful, and I sat at the bar where the bartender recommended the Ruby Red Renegade, and it did not disappoint. It was so refreshing! For my meal, I ordered the jerk salmon, and you could definitely tell there was someone with Caribbean roots in the kitchen because the flavors were incredible and the salmon was cooked perfectly. We were seated promptly but then it took twenty minutes before our server came over to take our drink order. When we got the 2 drinks one of them was not what we ordered . My husband ordered the nachos and they were cold and soggy and came with guac, sour cream and jalapeños that we asked them to not put on. My daughter ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was so soggy she could not eat it and she said the chicken had a funny taste to it. I ordered the appetizer trio. On a recent vacation we stopped in the HarborWalk Village and decided to eat lunch at Jimmy Buffet's signature restaurant. The ambiance of these things cannot be understated. You're literally transported to Key West and the vibe is chill. We were quickly greeted and our server was friendly and suggested I try the Jambalaya, which I did. However, I asked if the meal could be spicy and she said "they won't deviate from the recipe". Not her fault, but when it comes adding spice that should be easy to do. Anyways, the drinks were good, and the meals were all great. The only downside (thus the four star) is that the restaurant got slammed as were at the end of our meal and then service was non-existent. I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. Of course the tables are sticky--- it's humid and it's worth it for the amazing view. Did we have to wait for food? Yes but they let us know that the kitchen was backed up. We had a great view. Food was great. Drinks and service were amazing! Aubrey Berry was the next server! Just know that the lunch menu is almost nonexistent. The only thing for $11.99 is the Asian chicken salad with no chicken. Just get the regular Asian chicken salad. It was delicious! read more
