But there are other stores here along with restaurants and coffee shops. Seems like this is more of a place to hang out at to me. They had live music the time I was here. I got lucky and found some street parking, but make sure you feed that meter, the Berkeley meter patrol doesn't play. They are waiting for that meter to expire and they circle this area a lot!!

It's very cute and cozy in the evening/at night, especially after the rain and with those lights. It's not a big street and there's a limited number of shops, but it's nice to take a quick stroll down. I'll be honest, none of the shops here are really from brands or stores I would normally shop at (lol rich people stores), so we really didn't stop by a lot of them and most of them were closing for the evening anyways (I have learned that lots of things in the Bay Area close quite early). There's some street parking and some parking lots but it looked quite packed. Not sure what it's like on a non-rainy day.

I live relatively close to Pt Richmond but I don't really drive out there very often. Outback is a clothing store which sells very unique clothing designs with original fabrics. I actually shopped at the store back in the 1980s when it was located on Sacramento St near Dwight Way in Berkeley. I bought a coat from them that lstter for years. So this place has been around for decades. (I think at one point they moved to 10th St need Gilman in Berkeley.) I found a beautiful cashmere scarf, for a reasonable price, for my daughter who lives on the East coast. She received it and commented on how soft it was. The saleswoman was super friendly. We had a nice conversation. (A different saleswoman last year was also nice and pleasant.). The clothing can be on the pricey side for my budget. But if you are looking for a piece of clothing that no one else has, this is the place to visit. I really should go back and treat myself!

Customers should not be shown wholesale prices, and products should be clearly marked with the correct retail price and selling terms. Displaying incorrect pricing and dismissing a customer's concern shows a lack of basic business knowledge and poor management. This reflects a business that does not understand how to properly run retail operations.

One star for the pathetic "shop girls" and their attitudes. Who do they think they are? They are working there for a few bucks an hour, miserably folding sweaters and picking their noses! These girls automatically hate you if you are in your 20s but have made something of yourself and can actually afford the clothing that they fold. They are rude, stuck up without any reason to be, and it is so obvious how envious they are of the successful women who enter the store. Jealous bi-otches! Hahaha!!! But I do love these sweaters that I purchased from them. read more

I really like Margaret's sweaters. SHe is a great designer. They used to be made in the Bay Area, which I preferred, but now are made in China like every other thing in the USA that is destined to be worn out quickly. I was sad to see this. Still, the store is always worth a trip. The sweaters are lovely. The service is better on Fillmore than Berkeley (although to be fair, the service in Berkeley has gotten better since they got a new store manager a year or so ago). read more

Quality sweaters at a fair price. I like that Margaret is a local, and that her sister runs the store downtown. Agree with other reviewers that staff is less-than-charming, but this has gotten better since the petulant store manager has left to work at Nieman Marcus. read more

I can't say what the reason was, but the way I was treated made me feel judged based on my appearance and how I walked in. For a resale shop that presents itself as a more upscale alternative to places like Crossroads, I expected a warmer and more professional experience. Even a simple, "We're booked today, but would you like to make an appointment for September?" would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, I left feeling like they just didn't want my business.
