Allison is great at helping you find your way here. I shopped the sale items and they were affordable. I know I have things of lasting value and quality that will be in my wardrobe for a long time. I walked out with the clothes I bought on me and received compliments all day. I said, 'I am just a walking Ruti advertisement from head to toe.' As a photo stylist acquaintance once told me, 'buy good pieces'. if you can only afford one good piece here buy it. it will stay in your wardrobe forever. amazing designer clothing. affordable prices. read more

I want to warn other shoppers before they order from Ruti. The return policy and lack of phone support turn a simple size exchange into a race against the clock. The return policy: To get a refund, your return must be postmarked within 14 days of delivery. For store credit, you have 30 days. You also pay a restocking fee on whatever you send back. Why this is a problem: Sizing is inconsistent, so you may need to try a different size. Ruti doesn't do true exchanges, so you have to place a new order. Here's how the timeline plays out: * Day 0: The original item arrives and the refund clock starts. * About 3 days: The replacement order is processed. This happens even if you pay for rush shipping and know immediately that it didn't work. * 5-6 days later: The replacement arrives, even with 3-day shipping- the most expensive option. That leaves you less than 10 days to try on the new size and decide. And that's only if you tried the original right away, reordered immediately, and paid extra for expedited shipping. There's no customer service phone number. Everything goes through email, which makes a time-sensitive problem even more frustrating. My experience: I ordered for a trip where I'll be away for 12 days. Customer service told me to reorder and rush the replacement. Because of their processing time, it will arrive after I leave, while the refund clock on the original is already running and the clock on the replacement will be running while I'm out of town. That's not okay. If you're ordering for a specific date or trip, give yourself much more time than you think you need. Better yet, shop somewhere else. Here is a pic of the skirt waist compared to the pants (same size). Annoying. read more

Ruti - Skirt (graphite) and pants (aubergine) both petite medium. Website claimed the skirt ran small and said to size up... - Women's Clothing Near Me - Berkeley, California

The sales associates at Berkeley were helpful and attentive at first, but the experience shifted negatively when I needed to return part of my purchase, and they became noticeably cold and seemed to take it personally. Also worth noting, they only offer store credit for returns, so something to keep in mind before purchasing. I'll stick to shopping online. read more

Really not good. Bought a skirt because they said it was linen. Then checked the tag and it's actually 80% modal, 20% polyester? No returns ... read more

Absolutely obnoxious and pushy sales people. The two Russian speaking ladies kept telling me that "that's the style, it's designed to fit that way!". Ladies, I know what the current trends are, no need to explain them to me and pretend that something looks good on me. Will not be back. read more

Ruti has a terrible return policy, would never shop here again. 14 day return window for a refund is ridiculous for $250 pants.

Went to Ruti today to buy a new pair of jeans I had seen online. I was the only person in the store but the sales clerk ignored me. She was clearly sick, coughing and not covering her mouth or wearing a mask. I finally left without her ever saying a word and I didn't bother to buy the pants I came for. I'm not sure if this business is so popular they can afford to be rude to customers, but there have already been a lot of businesses in that 4th space and most of them don't last long. If you're thinking of going to Ruti, don't bother. They don't want your business or mine. read more

Ruti customer service is a literal joke. It started with them sending me the wrong item. I had to take pictures to prove their mistake and by the time this was done the item I wanted was no longer in stock. I then spent over two months attempting to get a refund. There is no customer service person available on the phone and the customer has to withstand numerous AI email responses before a real human gets involved. After working for over two months to get a refund, which they told me I could have, they offered a gift certificate and refused to refund my money. The effort it took to get anything accomplished was ridiculous and maddening. Their policies are suited to their business not the customer and their customer service is almost nonexistent. I will never ever shop at the store again. read more

Troubling customer service!!! When I called to ask a question about the store, the salesperson hung up on me. Will not be spending anymore time or money in there. read more

I wandered in looking for an outfit for an event and found a couple pieces I was interested in. The sales woman noticed my interest and began to engage with me enthusiastically, all smiles and friendly attention. But in the process she proceeded to force several other options on me that I said multiple times weren't my style, some of which I rejected out right, yet she still handed me more while I was in the fitting room. When I came out saying most of it didn't work and I wanted to think about it before dropping $500+ on a pair of jeans and a casual top, she literally turned away from me, wouldn't make eye contact and didn't say a word when I thanked her and exited. If your staff is going to be that blatantly rude, you can forget my patronage. The old adage, how you treat those who can't do anything for you says everything about you applies here. read more

This note is about the Service. I love the clothes and have been a customer of yours from the get go! Wednesday May 29th at 3;30pm I went to your Berkeley location to buy my first pair of jeans. I left without a purchase, having been basically ignored, snubbed and insulted by the salesperson there. I had to ask repeatedly for sizes and then styles, which based on eye rolls and grunts, seemed like a major hassle for her. Apparently she could not hear me either, but then again, she was sporting an earbud and moving to music, while I was asking for help. Her disinterest and disdain to be present for me was simply remarkable. When I said thank you and good bye, this person literally turned her back on me without a word. I felt like garbage. and said "you are very rude," which netted me a scoff and a sneer!? I am writing this review because I love your clothes and I do not believe it is in your interest to have such people representing you. (by the way: I found my first pair of jeans at MollyB where the shopping experience was kind and polite) read more

I have shopped here for many years and have always had great service from the staff. Most recently yesterday I met a lovely lady by the name of Natasha who was extremely helpful and gave me some great ideas on how to wear certain pieces. She went out of her way to make sure that I also had an opportunity to look at the sale items- I love their clothing line and I'm always surprised when I try on items that I wouldn't have necessarily picked out for myself! Thank you Ruti! And thank you Natasha for your excellent customer service read more

When boutique shopping, Ruti has got to be one my favorite stores. My friends and I frequent this shop, and often find sweet Liz working and helping us. On occasion, you may see the owner (she travels to Israel often). Do take a peek at their collection: Lots of solids, asymmetrical, contemporary and modern designs. Although they are on the pricey side, you may get lucky and find a few on sale, clearance (just be sure to keep your eye on them). Aside from clothing, they have unique jewelry made by local artists (my friend, Z always has her eye on new, incoming pieces), clutches, bags and one of a kind shoes (very similar to some I've seen in Europe, not in the US). Every time I bring a friend into this shop, they end up buying something from Ruti. Very well made design, and you'll be sure to receive lots of compliments! read more

I love the clothing here & the vibe of the store, it's always beautifully organized too read more

See all

I stopped into this store instead of just walking by as usual. The clothing is a bit hard to imagine when not worn, but Allison helped me select a few pieces and they were great! They are pricey, for sure. But they are well made, interesting shapes and so unlike the boring and disposable mall-shop clothing. The next time I returned, Allison greeted me by name and had a few other items in mind for me. She and all of the other associates I've seen there are good at suggesting items but they are or pushy or insulted if you don't like something. I've had issues with 2 items but I returned them with no problem for store credit. I recommend this store! Give it a try! read more

I adore this store! I love working with the sales team. Liz and Allison, you are the best! When new things come in, they text me with items they think will look good on me. How sweet right? The clothes are so fun and unusual, yet stand the test of time. The accessories are amazing too. I get so many compliments when I am wearing Ruti outfits. Thank you Ruti and Team! You really go the extra mile with all of the details! read more

It's a pricey boutique, and not everyone's style. It's not mainstream (read: boring) and not too aging Berkeley. The woman working today, Meagan (sp?) is a champ. She was pulling items out to try and steering customers towards flattering fits. She diplomatically sorted sizes. While I was trying dresses three regulars came in. She knew their names and commented on prior purchases. Yet, I felt as part of things despite it being my first visit. read more

Ruti is a gem! The designs are fresh, versatile, and flattering--ones you'll be inspired to wear on the daily. But what truly sets this store apart is the thoughtfulness of its sales staff, Allison and Liz. They always make customers (and their families!) feel at home, keep an eye out for their favorite colors or styles, and give them an honest opinion on whatever they try on. Their personal touch makes every visit a special one. Thank you, Ruti! xoxo read more

I started coming getting clothes at Ruti about a year ago and can't be more happy with the store and its staff. Ruti's clothing is interesting, well-made, and unique, with materials that are flattering to all kinds of body shapes. What stands out, too, is the sales team. Allison and Liz are both stellar salesfolks. They know a ton about all of pieces in the store, keep track of what I've liked and not liked in the past so that they can make wise recommendations, and have even called me to tell me when things arrive in the store that they think I might like. And they've been right every time! read more

I did a review of Ruti's a few years ago and decided to update my review due to their consistency of excellence. I continue to make this store my primary shopping destination due to its cutting edge designs which flatter every body type. The other reason I continue to shop there are the stylists Ruti hires. They are all outstanding not only for their fashion sense but also for their friendliness and helpfulness. I have never felt pressured to purchase anything and have even been dissuaded from purchasing items that were not flattering on my body type. I recommend that any new customer take the time to actually try on a few pieces. You will be amazed at how good you will look. I am always getting compliments on my wardrobe. It's such a relief to reach into my closet and know that any selection purchased at Ruti's will be appropriate and make me look great. Thank you Ruti and your fabulous stylists at the Berkeley store. read more

I was never offered a price match. The coupon should have been applied to the Molly B price. That's what I would have done if it were my business. Yes, it was nice to have a coupon, but kind of sad that it was used to bring the price down to what it should have been in the first place. read more

Liz has given me the best customer service. She's been super helpful and has gone out of her way to help me find a dress. She didn't mind even if the dress wasn't from Ruti. The store has beautifully designed clothes that will fit a normal-sized woman. It's stylish AND comfortable/wearable. The assistance is also excellent: pleasant, unpretentious, makes suggestions without forcing things. I wish the items weren't so expensive but they are things I haven't seen elsewhere--a combination of commonsense wearability AND international-stylish. read more

I needed a dress for a specific occasion (my son's wedding - a brunch, so not formal). When I first visited Ruti's they didn't have their spring line in yet. They asked what I was looking for, took my name and number. When their spring line came in, they called immediately! The sales staff were very helpful - honest in their critique, wonderful eye for what looked beautiful, charming personalities. I LOVED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! (and the dress I found) read more
