Be so serious. Scam of a hotel, worst customer service. They also state on their website that they charge up to $250 for pet damages and yet they charged us $300! I've never stayed in a yurt and thought it would be so cool. Silly me for procrastinating! However, a major development occurred a week after our stay... I requested a refund for a charge to my card. Got an immediate response, but no resolve. So beware of extra charges with no notification or explanation... Moving on. On the property, there are four rentals: two yurts and two tiny houses. Each rental has a unique name. Our tiny house was Casa Pequena. We stayed just one night on 2.15.2025. West Texas charm oozed from the ceiling to the floors. There were tasteful accents of gold and black with the occasional green and red. I won't soon forget the black and white "Prada Marfa" wallpaper. It was all surprisingly relaxing. So. Many. It is very inexpensive, band budget, and I would describe it more as a cabin than a house, but it is very spacious, has all that you need, including kitchen, full bath, great cookware, dishes, glasses, utensils, towels, and even a couple of bikes to ride around town. It is two blocks away from the great grocery store, The Get Go, and one block away from The Lost Horse bbq and beer joint. There are games in the place to amuse you but there is a lot in town to amuse you as well.

Absolutely GORGEOUS place to stay for visiting Big Bend National Park! There are four domes that…read moreare decently spread out from each other (and a larger "casa" somewhere nearby), and I feel like we were very lucky to stay in the Milky Way dome which was the farthest one out so when we sat outside we had an unobstructed view of the gorgeous desert and the mountains in the distance. We were there over New Year's so the weather was amazing and we appreciated getting to soak in the warmth of the firepit as the temperatures dropped at night. There is also a wonderful grill and an outdoor sink that we used to make breakfast every morning and dinner a couple of nights. The water is not drinkable so you MUST bring water (we filled up two 5 gallon carboys from home), but the water works fine to rinse dishes or wash your hands. Another warning, to get to the dome, you will have to drive about 2 miles on an unpaved, dirt road, but it's relatively smooth and you don't need a 4 wheel drive vehicle for it (we managed it in a rented mini-van, which we definitely didn't plan on having to do but it worked). The inside of the dome is very cool. We had two adults and one teenager in the dome and it was an awesome glamping experience! The views out of the dome during daylight are gorgeous, and at night if you turn off all the lights you get some very cool views at night too. However, we did really appreciate the full curtain to cover the windows when we left for the day and when it was time to go to sleep. Definitely recommend keeping the curtains closed when you leave because the windows create a greenhouse effect and it will be HOT inside even if it's not that warm outside. They do have an air conditioner/ heater inside, but you can't leave that running when you're gone or you risk running the solar power down. Since it's a smaller space it did cool down quickly when we got back to the dome in the afternoons / evenings. The beds were comfy, there were plenty of plugs to charge things, and they had a surprisingly nice kitchen setup. A decent sized mini-fridge with a tiny freezer that let us re-freeze our ice packs for our cooler, a keurig, a microwave, and a lot of utensils and plates, plastic glasses and plastic wine glasses. There are also grill tools under the sink outside! There is a bathroom with a door, a little sink, and a standing shower. The only issue with the shower is A) it's not frosted glass, it's clear, which is awkward for a situation where people don't want to see each other naked, and B) the water is brought in so you really need to take VERY short showers. We didn't wash our hair while we were there and just rinsed off quickly if we needed to so we could help protect the water in the area and limit the issue where no one could use the back-half of the dome because of the nakedness lol. The desert outside is also FULL of cool rocks and fossils if you want to go hunting for them! We found a few fossilized dinosaur eggs, fossilized river bed, and some very cool rocks that made my daughter so excited! To summarize, this is an absolutely beautiful place to stay, it's only about an hour to get into Big Bend National Park, and is way more luxurious and comfortable than regular camping. A perfect glamping experience with stellar views that I will recommend to everyone! PS - Don't forget to check out nearby Terlingua for delicious BBQ at DB's Rustic Iron, and the history of this cool ghost town!

The 360° views, the stunning landscape, the stillness, the stars!! The entire set up out here just blew us away and beat our expectations! Camping (Glamping) in the desert on the backside of the Maverick Mountains was Just spectacular! The domes had everything you could want and then some in terms of camping but without suffering. Lol! There are 4 domes so you have "neighbors", but they are 200+ feet away. You hear nothing but an occasional yipping grip of coyotes, the crickets, the beautiful sunrises with just the birds as the sun comes up over the horizon. Beds and pillows were amazing so comfortable we slept like babies. They offer a cute little kitchenette off to the side with Keurig, microwave and those cute vintage freezer/fridges on Instagram. Boho Arizona chic decor, the shower is beautiful done with a full bathroom set up. A cute modular clothes rack for luggage and clothes. A telescope for watching the Milky Way (which you don't even need because you can see it all with the naked eye. We saw shooting stars all night long. If you like falling asleep under a blanket of stars on a double chaise bed by the fire and not a care in the world this is your kinda place! This is a Protected Dark Sky area where there is literally zero light pollution...but you're only 26 minutes to nearest town. Alpine just up the road and Terlingua down south 25 mins near the Big Bend National Park! Cannot wait to come back!!!

There are no on line reservations, but with a quick phone call I had two nights reserved easily. Originally the girl and I were very skeptical and not too sure how to prepare for a cabin that said "its not for everyone." Even though, we found it very easily at night and followed the path off the main road. We were pleasantly surprised with the cabin which had a full kitchen, small front porch BBQ, and even a little living area. It could easily accommodate 5 people who didn't mind sleeping in close quarters. The big front windows of the cabin gave a great view and proof of our seclusion which made it mentally very quiet/peaceful. While getting ready in the early morning we could see the milky way better than I ever have before (couldn't see it in Fort Davis). There's no room service or continental breakfast, its not that kind of place, but for 65$ a night I will happily make my own food. Jim was the only "employee" I saw during my stay and he was a pleasure to work with. The bad: The furniture in the living area was well used which was totally acceptable, but if your a clean freak its gonna be below par. Same goes for the shower. To me, all things you would expect for a mtn town cabin. I came for Hammerfest bike race and would definitely recommend it for team lodging especially considering it is a 15 minute drive from Fort Davis and stage 2 ended at the dirt road leading to the cabin.

Davis, so not too far from Davis Mountains State Park. I found the accommodations average for a campground. The restrooms are not new, but they were presentable and usable. The toilets flush with running water, so they aren't the kind that sit on an open hole above a smelly holding tank. There is hot water for showering and even a couple of coin operated washing machines! One reason I chose to stay here is because it is a ranch with a lot of area to roam around on without having to see or hear a lot of people like you do at state or national parks. We hiked up to the top of one peak for a 360 degree view of the area around the ranch. A flashlight is a must at night. It is pitch black, so it is excellent for viewing the stars!

Anyway it was cool to watch the sunset in the middle of nowhere. My youngest daughter and I definitely saw white and red lights, some blinking and moving in the distance mountains. We thought the lights were train lights. There were lots of visitors mostly unmasked. Good thing it had plenty of open space for distancing. There were clean bathrooms and parking spots. Over all it was a fun experience. We enjoyed the view and fresh air.
