We were passing through & needed a last minute spot to stay at in our motor home & this place was perfect! It's October so the pool was closed for the season, kids were sad but understood so they played on the play ground for a while. We were able to park under a shade tree in a decent sized spot which also had TV, sewer, & electricity. Check in was easy & a sweet family helped us check in & even guided us to our spot. This place has clean bathrooms & showers & a place to do laundry & hang out to play games & more (which they provide). Pokemoners, there is a Pokespot near the Propane fill area. One the employees screamed and chased my son and yelled and terrorized him because he went with his bike through a neighbor spot. My son who has severe autism and a learning disability never rode his bike again in the rv park after that. He accused my son of almost hitting the rv with his bike...which is a blatant lie! He never played outside after that. The owner never apologized for it. My daughter has it all on video. When I confronted him...he yelled at me and my wife. He was smelling like alcohol!!!! This employee continued his animosity against my family until he stopped his employment there. We have been discriminated. read more

There wasn't anything chilly about the Lost Alaskan- they were warm and welcoming. All of the RV spots here are pull-thru sites, which makes it easy to get in and out of. The sites had 30 amp power, water, and sewage, which made things easy. A cement picnic table at each site was large enough for four people to comfortably sit at. The premium sites had a small fence and a BBQ pit. The dog park was not very big, but spotless. They provided free wifi that was surprisingly fast during the day, but slowed to a crawl during the evening hours. This was one of the few places in the area with trees! Each campsite seemed to have two trees planted, and trees and tall grass surrounded the premises in order to block wind. You could tell that the trees had all been planted in a row, and by their size, someone planted them years, and years ago. The whole park was spotless. All day long, workers tooled around in golf carts escorting campers to their sites, picking up dog poo, candy wrappers, and just making sure everyone was happy. They also provided showers, which were clean, with plenty of water pressure and hot water. The restrooms were spotless, and had plenty of amenities. There's a laundromat on site as well. They sell propane too. When I went, during the winter, the pool was still spotless, filled, and ready for swimmers. They have a splash pad too, if that's your thing. Every camper is welcomed individually, and escorted to their site to make sure everyone is in the right spot. The place was attractively decorated with cool landscaping, metal signs, artwork, and just fun things to take in while walking through the park. read more

We didnt have a reservation and snow was coming our way. Check in was quick and the price was very reasonable. They showed us where our spot was, helped fill our propane tank and gave us some chocolate. They made sure we knew where everything was located. The next morning with snow on the ground they said we can stay another day, if needed. The place was quiet and safe. There are several amenities and the town is close by. read more

I'm in no way an RV park pro, but having been to 3 or 4 this year already I can safely say these guys know how to take care of their guests. ALL slots are pull-thrus. Big plus. Nice brick picnic tables at each one. CLEAN bathrooms. Attractive grounds. The maintenance personnel deserves its own paragraph. Very friendly and helpful. Had a problem with a pop-up jamming and the man on duty was more than happy to lend both a hand AND his tools. Next time we come out to see Marfa and its so called "lights" we'll be staying here, no doubt. read more

We only stayed one night at this beautiful park, but we highly recommend it! The people in the office were friendly and helpful with an escort to our spot and recommendations about fun things to do in Alpine. It was clean, lots of mature trees, good size, level RV or trailer spots. It was too cold for us to enjoy the pool, but it looked fun! They also have a nice park and dog park. There is a reservable wash area too, which had a concrete pad. We will be back, and hopefully get to enjoy this park more on our next visit. read more

We are full timers and have a couple years under our belts traveling the country. Have seen our share of good, bad, mediocre and 'OMG never again' parks. Arrived here strictly by chance as the roads were going to be gettin bad and didn't want to try for our Lajitas destination. First impression, friendly and informative check in. No problem with our Good Sam discount. $30 and change for the night, for a private park with full hook up, cable, wifi and pool(closed for season but very nice) Led to our site by golf cart. All pull thrus, cleanest park ever! Gravel pad but no need to level. The bathrooms/showers were immaculate and the water was hot! Laundry facility and small rec room for gaming, puzzles, reading. Would have liked to have campfire but not allowed, ONLY drawback! If ever in the area again, we will stop here! read more

Every year we drive 1250 miles to visit Alpine, TX and when we are here....the Lost Alaskan is our go-to campground. Excellent staff. Office service is friendly. Maintenance crew keeps the grounds in tip-top shape. The bathroom/shower/laundry facilities are the best we've found anywhere! Pool is small but clean and they have a small splash park type area & playground for the kids. All sites are level. Nice grills & concrete picnic tables at each. Beautiful views of the mountains and west Texas. read more

This is a great park to stay. Modern and clean restrooms plus a nice laundry area. They sell propane and all of the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. We stayed there during the 2021 winter cold snap and we always had water and electric service plus we needed extra propane which they were able to supply. read more

We stayed at The Lost Alaskan RV Park for a week while in Alpine, TX. This has to be one of my favorite RV parks so far. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the sites are level, and the water pressure is the best we've experienced anywhere. For pet owners, there is a very nice dog park where your pets can be off leash. Just be aware that there are sometimes numerous grass burrs that can be painful for you and your pets. (Most of the burrs were located in the grassy area behind the office and not so much in the dog park.) The park is well situated on the north side of Alpine, within driving distance of Fort Davis, Marfa, and the McDonald Observatory. Made some great new friends at this park and really look forward to going back in the future. We drive a 38' diesel motorhome and tow a Jeep Unlimited, so we had an ample pull-through site with full hook-ups directly across from the bath house and laundry. While we didn't need to use the facilities, everything was super clean and well kept. read more

What a nice RV park. The help was friendly and ready to offer any assistance. The rate was good. It's close to several interesting places to spend your time and money. We traveled a half hour to Ft. Davis which is an interesting area and to the McDonald Observatory one night and to the Davis Mountain State Park. One evening we drove to see the Marfa lights. Saw a big rattle snake there so be careful. Today is the 4th of July and the owner is throwing a brisket BBQ for the camera. Really nice park. I'll be back. read more

This place is small and simple, but is meticulously clean and has a crystal clear, icy pool! We stopped there on the way and way back to Terlingua. It was like coming back home. Awesome place, awesome area. We have traveled the US quite extensively, traveled Europe briefly. We have done both via RV, tent camping and hotel stays depending on destination. Alpine is an interesting town well centered regarding west Texas' tourism offerings. The Lost Alaskan (ask how they got the name when you check in), is well above par. Clean laundry, restrooms and showers and the grounds well maintained. When the Texas winds do pick up the staff will quickly pickup any loose things that fly away. From check in and a short briefing on the park's rules, answering questions about local information to suggestions on enjoying the area efficiently the staff are pleasant and cheerful. In short this is a must-stop for anyone coming to the Big Bend of Texas. read more

We pulled in to Lost Alaskan to fill up our propane tanks. We have a 5-gallon portable tank and a 9-gallon on-board tank. The portable tank was totally empty and the onboard tank only needed 2 or 3 gallons. I stopped into the office and the young lady at the desk told me that there was a 5-gallon minimum on onboard tanks, but if we filled the portable with 5 gallons there wouldn't be a minimum charge on the onboard. We pulled up to the filling station and got our portable tank filled, but the propane tech wanted to charge us the 5-gallon minimum IN ADDITION to the 5 gallons we put in our portable. Long story short, we didn't get our onboard filled and now we have to look for another propane distributor to get it topped off. Both employees were courteous and helpful, BUT they need to get their cover-story straight prior to being confronted by customers. THE AVERAGE PROPANE PRICE IN TEXAS IS $2.45. ALASKAN RV CHARGED US $4.00 PER GALLON. Unfortunately, we really needed propane as we're heading for the outback! I would NOT give LOST ALASKAN my business again!!!! read more

Great RV Park! We stayed here for a week. Perfect place to stay because it was centrally located to everywhere else we wanted to visit! Park was clean, everyone was friendly, and the office staff even gave us recommendations on places to eat. It was nice not to have to worry about anyone messing with our belongings we left outside the camper, like chairs/tables, etc... Restrooms were extremely clean!! We enjoyed our stayed at Lost Alaska and hope to return next summer! read more

We stayed here while visiting the observatory. Good, accessible, and fairly levels spots. The services (bathroom, showers, trash) are central to all spots. The playground and pool are clean and well maintained. My brief interactions with the front office were great. Friendly folks who offered up advice for our visit to the area (unsolicited), and even provided brochures for areas we planned to visit. If in the area, would definitely use them again! read more

I moved to Alpine, TX June of 2018 to start college at Sul Ross State University. I decided to live here at the Lost Alaskan RV Park until I graduate. So far I LOVE IT HERE!!! I don't plan on moving to a different park. They are very nice people and are always willing to help me out as well as other guest. If I need help with something you better believe that they are there in a few min to help out. They keep the Park clean. I recommend staying here if anyone is ever wanting to camp out here in Alpine. Even when I graduate school I plan on coming back just to camp out at the Lost Alaskan RV Park!! read more

Beautiful place to camp. All the sites are large pull through, with local cable. Lots of trees and you would not know you are surrounded by desert. Check in (we didn't have reservations) was a breeze and we followed a golf cart to our site. $30 per night rate. Restrooms/showers were clean. OMG. What an amazing facility to stay at if RV'ing or camping. Extremely clean (as can eat off the floors)- laundry room and showers. All RV spots are Pull Thru. Reasonably priced and close to the downtown area of Alpine. The office staff went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and to suggest things to do and places to eat.
