It was super convenient- we never even had to face any staff. Our keys were waiting for us at the door (Yes, that's pretty trusting but the location is also a bit hidden as we had to walk down a clean alley to get there) SIMPLE ACCOMMODATIONS Huge plus for having local Coffee at the counter as well as a microwave, mini fridge, and wifi. Also a collection of small snacks for the taking. A simple, sheer curtain divided the living room from the bedroom but also added an elegant feel to the minimalist appearance. Everything was clean and perfect for our stay. AND RATHER SPACIOUS It never felt cramped inside. That sheer curtain also works great, space miracles. We also liked how right outside the door was a small, vegetation-filled courtyard. It was a bit too chilly for us to take advantage of but it mentally made us feel very relaxed upon entering.

They provide snacks, WiFi and a great binder with information. The location is convient to pretty much everything in Alpine ( a lot within walking distance). However, I was extremely dissapointed and annoyed when I received my review back from the Guest Lofts. We came to Alpine to celebrate me turning 21. Im not a big drinker and therefore wanted to travel for my bday. I think my group and I were stereotyped and therefore received a negative review. Apparently we kept a family and their kids up all night long... First off we were on the outside which meant there was only one loft next to us. The first night we stayed there we had just drove 7 hours and didn't stay up past 10. The next morning when we woke up the only people in the loft next to us were one of the ladies that runs the guest lofts cleaning. We were told In the review we were too loud and didn't follow the rules. There is no possible way we kept anyone up all night long. We never stayed up past 12 and didn't wake up until 9. I didn't even finish a four pack of beer and one of the people in my group was sick. The only "kids" I saw were two preteens throwing knives at stuff in the courtyard. I take it Guest Lofts are not a fan of young adults. I think they could have handled the situation better and maybe talked to us in person or let us know there was supposedly someone staying next to us.

With two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a small living area, and access to a balcony, it provided more than enough room for our family of four to spread out and relax. The primary suite featured a cozy queen bed and private bath, while the second bedroom--equipped with two doubles that could be combined--offered flexibility and comfort, even with its more compact bathroom. What truly elevated the experience was the fully equipped kitchen, complete with a full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, everything you'd need to settle in for more than just a short stay. It had all the creature comforts of home, making it easy to imagine lingering a little longer. Even small touches stood out: when we realized an iron and ironing board weren't in the room, the staff promptly delivered one and kindly pointed us to extra towels available nearby, adding to the welcoming, low-key hospitality. Its location made it an ideal home base for exploring Marfa and beyond, with easy drives to landmarks like the film location for the iconic movie "Giant" staring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. Down the road was, the iconic Prada Marfa, and to the east is the McDonald Observatory, and Balmorhea State Park. While it may not carry the same historic prestige as Hotel Paisano or the sleek edge of Hotel Saint George, Marfa House has a charm all its own--modern, comfortable, artistic, and refreshingly affordable. Not finding reviews for this place I was not sure what to expect. Marfa House is a 3 story building that has been transformed into a place with several individual bedrooms with private bathrooms. Some with balconies. There is a common area with a fire pit and TV by the back entrance that is very enjoyable. And there is also a large living room with a nice sofa chairs and a small high top table to sit and eat or chat, play games or just enjoy. Sonya is the host that does the booking and handles the needs of the guests and she does a GREAT job at meeting the needs of guests. Roger is the owner, and he has a personality as big as TEXAS with a heart to match. Husband and I were lucky to meet and talk to Roger. I highly recommend Marfa House as a great place to stay in Marfa Texas. Please follow the house rules and park according, remove shoes in room and mind quiet hours.

They provided cots since there were more than 4 of us at the house. At 3800 sqft, not sure why the capacity would only be for 4 people! Beds were comfy, towels from Sferra were very soft, malin and goetz shower supply was fabulous, and the tile in the showers was gorgeous along with the natural light beaming through the skylights of each bathroom. There is a gate that blocks you at the top of the long set of stairs to the apt. You share the building with an Andy Warhol exhibit and the best restaurant, Stellina. Pictures do not do this place justice. Thank you El Cosmico for providing lots of different and cute/modern options for all different group sizes! It was perfect! large open room with an attached bunk room with four bunks (disclaimer bunks are not very tall, but worked great for us). TV's in both rooms if needed. My youngest loved the little table area to play with his toys. The shower was very accommodating for my parents as a walk-in. Plenty of storage if planning to stay several days. We only stayed over night and came in late (checking in was a breeze, owners very reachable at all times). I will say the air conditioning wasn't the best when we first arrived, two wall units working as hard as they could. But they were fairly quiet (sounded like the hum of a fan). It gradually cooled off and it wasn't a problem. Common area was incredible though we didn't get to utilize it as it was just a place to sleep as we passed through, but the kitchen was fully furnished, comfy seating in several areas. Space was utilized amazingly well. Shelf of assorted board games. Plenty of towels! Can't say enough good things. take the chance! You won't be disappointed!

The mattress was terrible and offered absolutely no support - we were sinking into it. The bed frame was cheap and flimsy. Some of those workers seem to feel the need to idle their trucks for an hour - not an exaggeration. More than once, odors of carbon monoxide filled my room. The last time, at 5:30 in the morning, the fumes and noise from the truck woke me up and kind of killed my stay there.

The facts: - location is great - walk to Pizza Foundation, Get Go, Ballroom Marfa, and pretty much everywhere else - $50 cleaning fee is outrageous - esp. since the place wasn't all that clean. If it really costs anywhere near $50 to clean this shoebox (which I doubt), just add it to the room rate - no WiFi we could find despite the claims (try Pizza Foundation) - TV (dish network) was weak - all I wanted was some sort of local news affiliate

Wont be staying here again. Not worth the hase or the money
