My wife and son at RoadRunner Travelers watching the fire.

Excellent location, highly recommended. With a coffee shop and a liquor store across the street, a gas station .2 miles away on the way to Big Bend, I cannot recommend the location enough. The area was clean, the entry was efficient, the prices were great, and the view was breathtaking.

I love the red oak bench and fire pit. What a nice touch.

I am currently visiting the Big Bend Region and found this new RV park. I love sitting and relaxing and taking in the views in the evening of the sunsets and in the morning of Bee Mountain. I actually witnessed everyone in this park come out at once with their cameras taking photos of the spectacular sunset. That was a site to see for sure. I love hanging out at the Community fire pit and chatting with the other campers. The huge wood benches are very cool too. I will definitely be back to visit Big Bend and Roadrunner Travelers RV Park is where I will stay.

When we arrived, he told us we weren't allowed to stay because he'd changed his policy on EV's since making my reservation less than a week and a half ago! He was rude, but that was fine, the place was run down anyway and I didn't want my new car around this type of place anyway. So, I immediately left a one star review on another site documenting my factual experience. A bit later, when I'd already found two places that agreed to let me charge nearby, the owner started texting me inappropriate and threatening messages telling me to "go back to where I came from," and worse. I uploaded those images so that other potential customers can see how unprofessional the owner is. Stay away if you value your safety!

Outstanding RV Stay in West Texas - Maverick Ranch RV Park, Lajitas…read more Texans are known for their hospitality, and the staff at The Maverick Ranch RV Park in Lajitas, TX absolutely lived up to that reputation. Friendly, polite, and helpful, they made check-in and check-out quick and informative--handing out maps with local highlights and always being available if needed. The park itself is well-equipped: * Full hookups * Spacious, pull-through RV sites * Clean bathrooms with showers * Laundry facilities * Heated pool * Paved roads and level pads for easy setup The bathrooms were consistently clean and always available--huge plus. The lodge is a real highlight. Think "Texas-sized" with multiple leather couches, a poker table, dining space, and a full kitchen. It connects to a large laundry room with plenty of machines and seating--making laundry day feel like less of a chore. Connectivity was surprisingly solid given the remote location near the Mexico border. While our hotspot struggled to get even two bars, the park's Wi-Fi came through just fine. A few tips for travelers: * There's no ice machine or propane refill on-site, but the nearby market carries both. * STOCK UP in Alpine before heading down--gas, propane, drinks, and food are all pricier here. * Most RV sites include picnic tables and fire pits. Bring your own firewood unless you want to pay $10.99 per bundle. * There's no shade, so make sure your AC and awning are ready to go to war with the sun. Exploring the area: * Lajitas is about 20 miles from Big Bend National Park--the main reason most people come. * Don't miss Terlingua Ghost Town (~15 miles away) for a fun local vibe. The Boathouse offers cheap beer, live music, and friendly locals. Nearby, High Sierra Bar & Grill has great food and seriously good chili. * For stunning scenery, drive the 50-mile stretch to Presidio--incredible views and the cheapest gas in the region. Nighttime Pro Tips: It gets pitch black out here. The park has well-marked, smooth roads with reflectors, but bring a soft flashlight and use low beams when arriving after dark. They have a no-outdoor-light policy after 9 PM--great for stargazing, so respect it and enjoy the night sky. Final Thoughts: The Maverick Ranch RV Park delivers excellent value, especially given its remote location. Yes, prices are a bit higher due to that, but the amenities, atmosphere, and proximity to Big Bend make it more than worth it. After a long day hiking or exploring, a refreshing dip in the pool is the cherry on top.

We stayed here four nights for Spring Break. We enjoyed the site, it was clean and quiet. The kids…read moreloved the heated pool. Everything we needed was here. The laundry facilities were fine...I just wish they had coin machines as the office was closed so I had to drive to the hotel and buy rolls from the front desk. Wi-Fi was mostly good. A little spotty. Cell service was 1 bar, but it worked. It was nice that we could charge stuff back to our "room." It was a great stay! Thank you.

If you're looking for some peace, quiet, and the ability to "get away from it all," then look no…read morefurther. Stayed here for a week in December with my father and had a great time. First you must know that I am not a regular RV'er/camper. My father is the RV owner and moves around the country full time; I was just down for a holiday visit. He usually comes here every winter and I was finally able to make it down here and escape the northern cold for a change. This part of Texas is remote, quiet, and beautiful. Many people that stay here come to check out Big Bend National Park, the north entrance of which is 7 miles from Stillwell Ranch. During this part of the year the park is fairly empty but at other times can get quite busy. They have around 30 full hookups (electric, water, waste) and another 20 or so partial (electric and water only.) There are also some areas just for tent campers, some of which can offer a fair amount of privacy, if that's what you need. These areas have fire pits (you can buy firewood at the store) and usually have a trashcan nearby (don't be a litterbug!!) There is a ton of hiking in the immediate vicinity and some 800,000 acres of serene high desert in the National Park. Upon arrival, you can check in at the Stillwell Store and will find the staff to be friendly and helpful. They have basic supplies here (snacks, drinks, beer) as well as a small gift shop and Hallie's Hall of Fame Museum (small but interesting.) Prices are reasonable but if you are staying for more than a couple days you'll probably want to stock up on supplies before you get here, as the nearest restaurant or grocery story is in Marathon, 40 miles driving. The nearest Wal-Mart is in Fort Stockton, about 100 miles driving. Important note: They do have wifi here but don't expect to be streaming HD videos from Netflix (that's not why you came anyway!) It is standard DSL speed but you are sharing it with every other tenant on the ranch. Cell phone coverage is nonexistent but you can pick it up here and there at the National Park, though 4G and LTE is unlikely. Once you take care of those details, you should be good to take in the fresh air and natural beauty of southern Texas. Hope you brought your camera and hiking shoes! And suntan lotion... Enjoy, 5 stars!

We couldn't level facing the correct direction so we had to pull in the wrong direction. This made using the electric and water with what we carry not possible. $30 charge to change your site even though only four sites out of 33 sites in our section were being used. WiFi is on the porch of the store and laundry behind it quite the walk from our site. Would not recommend and would not go back ourselves.
