So many good finds in here!! Went to pick up Mother's Day church bulletins. Ended up finding the perfect card, some funny Ts and even a summer work book for my nieces. There are tons of items on sale right now ranging from school supplies, jewelry and gift wrapping etc. Previous visit I picked up a prayer anxiety journal which I intend to use more. Hard to find a full service Christian bookstore here in the Houston area. Most of them have closed down and I'm so glad that this one is still around. Location is good and so is the selection. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

My wife and I love this place! It's got so many things to choose from. We have purchased several different Bibles here. Their Bibles are always discounted. They have all kinds of gift items for Christians. In addition to the Bible's, they have Christian-related educational items, music, videos, clothing, books, etc. We always spend a couple of hours there browsing and shopping. It's a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. My sister always goes with us, too! read more

A friend who knows I love all things Jesus told me about this gem of a store. I was a big Lifeway shopper, and had no idea once they closed if there would ever be another great Christian store. I was so wrong! Mardel's is BIG with a ton of great items! I love how organized and clean the store is making things very easy to find. Really rude staff. I walked into the store at at 7:38 very aware they closed at 8. I walked in and smiled at one of the older ladies near the book section and told her hi to be friendly. She responded with "we close in 20 minutes." I told her "oh I'm just here to grab a book." I walked down ONE isle and spent 5 minutes max deciding between two books. The lady walked down the isle and gave me and my husband a very rude look and reminded me they were about to close. I had checked out and was in my car by 7:45. I started volunteering for a ministry that assisted children with disabilities when I was 14 years old. Since then, I've not had a single period of time where I was not serving a ministry. Mardel has not been in business for long. In fact, it would have been extremely useful if it had been around back in the day when I first got started doing my thing. This isn't just your Christians trinkets and Bible store. There is a lot of helpful class material and things relevant for youth groups. I was really surprised to find enough lanyards and name badges for 100 people in purple and black. They also sell two different Christian ministry-based clothing lines here. Now, I think they look pretty... youthful. Kind of like they were going for an Affliction and Pac Sun style. Not my taste, but I dig how these guys invest so much in charities I care very much about. Only shopped at this chain in Lubbock, this location is tucked away in a strip center off Katy Freeway so you really need a heads up on how to find it. I had specific needs and was greeted by a gentleman that knew what I wanted and what they had was not exactly the specific item, but an ok replica. Was surprised at the vast selection of wedding and baby gifts. Purchased some reasonably priced bookmarks that can tuck into a sympathy card and found a super fabulous father's day card. Great experience but would rather not have the cashier chatting with the cashier next to her about how to do a purchase order, would appreciate her focus on the customer at hand. read more

This is an awesome store! As a teacher at a private, parochial school I can tell you that there is no better place to find such a wide variety of religious classroom materials. Their selection is large and well-stocked. However, they also have a great selection of general teacher/classroom supplies as well. As a Christian bookstore they also have the largest selection of Bibles, books, devotional materials, etc. around. They also have really good prices and competitive sales. Definitely a place to check out! read more
