    Boneless Wings order.

Good morning, Yelpers! Here's my review of Marcus Crosswoods Cinema's bar/restaurant located at 200 Hutchinson Ave, Columbus, OH 43235. Last night, I went to see the documentary comedy "AM I Racist?", which came highly recommended. My showtime was 9:40 p.m., and I arrived at the cinema around 8:50 p.m., so I decided to dine at the theater to ensure I was on time for the movie. I sat at the bar and ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and some buffalo boneless hot wings. The Long Island was strong and pretty good--after all, it's hard to mess up a Long Island, though some bartenders manage to! The bartender was great--super chill, attentive, and quick with my drink order. Now, here's where things went downhill: I waited about 40 minutes for my six-piece wet, soggy boneless wings. The bartender checked on my order at least twice, so I know it wasn't his fault, but the long wait for soggy wings was a disappointment. When my pager finally buzzed, I picked up my order, and unfortunately, it didn't meet expectations. The total came to $30.00, plus a $5.00 tip, for what turned out to be a $6.00 movie on half-off Tuesday. My suggestion to fellow Yelpers: stick to the pizza until the kitchen makes some improvements on the wings.

Complementary popcorn for members. Also the $1 refill size.

Towed my car for no reason, just because it's more convenient to park there. They just want to be greedy with their infinite parking spots.

Great venue to watch your favorite flicks. I have been going there for years. The seats are super comfy recliners and the popcorn is great!

They just put all the prices together. So if you want say pretzel bites, then those pretzel bites are around $6.50 or if you want candy and soda together with them it's about $20. We went to see the movie goat. The surround sound and the view from the middle of the theater was great! The bathrooms were pretty tidy. The parking lot had enough room for everyone. One of the best finds was a Photo Booth that had a printout with goat themed multi picture view as a souvenir you can get. The Photo Booth takes credit cards or exact change cash. It's $8

So I got my cake mixing bowl and headed to this location. Most theatres have $5 fill up any bowl/purse/bookbag, or Lowe's bucket you have. The staff was great about it and even wanted to fill up the bag I had the bowl in. LOL! I got there in a flash, as the traffic was not that bad and parking was ample. I was happy to get there early enough for an hour to chill before the next showing, and I just played on my phone, and people watched for 50 mins, but they had arcade games if you got kiddos. I had a great seat for the show, but there was a guy who smelled like an ashtray, and I was like, LORD, I am the only one over here in row E. This was something that I should addressed and moved somewhere else. Next time. My ticket was free, so I could not complain too much. Sent was comfy, and the acoustics were great! 4 stars!

I try to get back here once or twice a year to see if my impressions/experience is any different from the last one. Sometimes it's better. Sometimes it's worse. Saw The Counselor recently on a Sunday night. Hardly anyone was in the lobby and tickets were being sold at the concession stand. The popcorn bin didn't have enough to fill a small serving and there was some kind of fried item (possibly samosas) in the case. We passed on snacks. Theaters weren't numbered (except for a sign indicating where to find #8) but did have printed marquee information to indicate which movie(s) were showing in that theater. Walked into the theater at 7:15pm to the end credits of the previous movie. The houselights went up. Our showtime was 7:20pm. Several minutes later the commercials started showing. Houselights stayed up. The commercials were skewed to a parallelogram shape and the top of the commercial was in the middle with the bottom at the top. My husband went out and said something to the owners. Projection was promptly corrected. Masking was only slightly off for the movie (video bled off one side of the screen) and overall projection was slightly out of focus. Audio was low and tinny. I don't know if they had to set to stereo instead of dolby 5.1 but something wasn't right. Lights stayed on for the entire movie. Upon walking out we saw spilled popcorn in an aisle or two. Some issues can be easily corrected such as giving a few more minutes between shows so the theaters can get a once over. Or having someone start to check/clean the aisles when the theater is empty of people. I am a glutton for punishment so I will stop by again in another 6 - 12 months.

But its what The Continent has to offer that makes it a very special place to hang out. For those who don't know, The Continent is a combination of Apartment Complex, Restaurants, and Movie Theatre -- everything that anyone could ask for all in one place. As I grow old, I think I should like to hang out there, just for the entertainment value alone. But that's beside the point. The Screens at The Continent is a older-type theater, that hasn't changed much as the time has gone by. It doesn't have the modern edge of the AMC Theaters you'll find all around town. But what it doesn't have there, you'll find it has in charm and entertainment. What I also love about The Screens at The Continent is the fact that its a second-run theater. So if you missed that movie you wanted to see on the big screen the first time it was out, you'll be able to catch it this time around. My next movie that I plan on seeing there? The second run of an American classic: High School Musical 3. The best part about the theater entirely, is the fact that it has cheap films! That's right...on Wednesdays, all shows are only a dollar! One dollar! It can't get a whole lot cheaper than that! For that price, I may go see High School Musical 3 twice! Twice! This place is a great place for quality, cheap movies that you can't beat. And with the movie listings online, how can you go wrong? The Screens at the Continental are some of my favorite, and I assure you that you'll never go wrong by going for a good, cheap family film there!

For our visit, they were showing the silent version of The Phantom of the Opera with a live orchestra. This was our first visit to this theater so we got there early to look around. There is a convenient parking garage located directly behind the theater and if you remember to ask, they will validate your parking ticket for $2.00 (we did not remember to do this so we paid $11.50 for three hours!!). They were showing this film on Halloween night, which was also a Friday night, so the University District was hopping! It was fun to walk around and see all of the costumes and various parties going on before heading into see our movie. Since this was a special showing it cost us around $55.00 for our tickets, but we ordered them in advance and were able to pick the seats we wanted. They allowed everyone inside the theater 15 minutes early, so there was quite a long line waiting once we were near the theater door. We saw others carrying soda and popcorn, but couldn't figure out where the concessions stand was! We were barely able to figure out where to find the bathrooms, so we gave up on the popcorn once the door opened for the movie. Once the door was opened, we went in and found our seats. Very comfy seats!!! We sat in the fifth row, so the screen was higher than our seats, but oh so cozy. The show was fantastic, the live orchestra did a smashing job! Very enjoyable visit!!
