My brother in-law recommended this company to hire them for an install for my new counter tops and backsplash in my guest house kitchen. They were 1 of the 3 companies I received a quote from. In all honestly they weren't the most affordable option but I'm so glad that I did decide to sign off with them because they exceeded my expectations. My attention to detail is very dialed and I was surprised about how careful they were in my property and how well mannered they were to my family. Everything turned out better than expected and my fiance was more than happy so that was a major win haha. It's not very often you develop a personal relationship with the people you hire but something about this team made me feel like they were an extension of my family. Xavier is a wonderful leader and I'll continue to recommend his team for any future projects. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! My husband and I went through Home Depot to ask for quotes to rebuild our deck. This company was the best bang for our buck, so we went with them. They sent over a picture of a gorgeous deck. Let me just say, our deck now looks NOTHING like the deck that was sent over after they built it. Nothing! There are missing screws, no stain on parts of it, mismatched pieces and screws, and the boards are warped. We paid before we were 100% satisfied, which was our mistake. What is worse is that our sales rep, Xavier, is very unresponsive and hasn't called us back after multiple calls from us. read more

Minus 5 stars. Marcus Construction is owned by a Xaviar Daniels, aka Xaviar Dennis, aka Xavier Marcus. DO NOT HIRE!!! He and others are scamming for remodel jobs. They collectEd a deposit, which was $16k. They Dragged their feet or were never here for 36 days. In that amount of time some demolition was done, but no rebuilding and finishing. We were angry at this point. Xavier assured me all work on our project will be done promptly and first priority starting the next day. He said NO more money will be due from us until the end. That promise lasted 4 days. Xavier tried to make us pay more. We offered to pay for materials and his labor and we would deduct it from the balance we owe him. He refused our offer. He quit the contract. He then called all his employees to blame us for non payment. Some of them came to us to pay them. We have reported his actions to LNI under the fraud division. read more

Beware of the con man Xavier Daniels. This has been the worst experience imaginable. We agreed to a price with MC&D on Dec. 30, 2021. Within 30 minutes of agreeing on the phone, Ann showed up on our doorstep to receive a check for 50% of the total price. When we asked for a contract to be signed, Ann didn't have one. We printed one out and copied our check. We were introduced to Sean who was to be our project manager. After 2 weeks nothing had happened. Finally Sean put us in touch with Marcus Construction's carpenter Raul. After a couple of days of mediocre work Raul started complaining to us, the client, about being cheated of wages by Marcus. He walked off the job the following day. Marcus then sent another carpenter named Fransisco. Fransisco complained about being cheated of wages immediately. He left never to return. After 30 days we complained to Xavier Daniels (the owner) he assured us that these were all isolated issues and that everything would be fine. He also told us that he won't be asking for an additional cash payment until the finality of the job. Of all the things we contracted Marcus (Xavier) to do, 450 square feet of vinyl flooring was the cheapest aspect. He sent out Antonio to do this. 3 days later it was completed. The interior of our house was to be painted. The painter he sent refused to do the work for what Xavier offered and walked off the job. Xavier then approached me for $7800 more. I refused. The same day I began receiving calls from Xavier's employees saying that I was withholding money agreed to under contract. The was never a contract other than the one we printed the night I gave this company $16,000. The flooring man came to me asking to be paid for our flooring. We have decided to part ways with this con man Xavier Daniels. Marcus Cont. and Development was referred to us through Home Depot Pro Referrals. Beware of this company. They are thieves. The one positive experience we've had is with Sean the project manager. He is a great person and we wish him well. read more

I recently had A leak in my kitchen so I went to Home Depot to find someone who could fix it. I also wanted some cosmetic changes done as well. This company was very flexible with my schedule and someone came at the perfect time to help me. They were very professional and transparent with billing. They showed up at my house the day I called them for the quote, worked with my time frame to get the job done. I'll use them for all my construction needs, very trust worthy. We had an excellent experience with Marcus Construction! They were very helpful with our scheduling issues as we were traveling Vancouver Island and had internet issues. Nick was able to reschedule when the oven we had ordered was not delivered on the scheduled date.The installation was done by Xavier, who as the project manager, ensured that we were completely satisfied with the work...which we were! Xavier addressed all our concerns and his courteousness was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend this company; their customer service is outstanding and their work is completed quickly and efficiently. read more

This company is outstanding! I needed a cooktop installed because Home Depot does not do installations. At first, using Pro Referral, they indicated that this company was not available, so I called them. One of the best construction teams I've worked with, they are professional and dependable. An all around good group of hard working guys. Most impressive is the owner, he is a very understanding personable business man. He will make you feel comfortable through the completion of your project. I've been working with him and his team on some remodeling projects for my work, but I'm always happy to recommend him to family and friends for their own personal home projects. Marcus construction We had our bathroom fixed due to water damage from a flood. They had installed 3 toilets for us along with a great deal of other work. They did the work six months before we had the problem. After six months our toilet was leaking. There was water on the floor near the toilet. We kept cleaning it up and it kept coming. I called the company and talked with Xavior. Xavior told me they would fix it. I called several times but the first call was Thursday. I didn't hear back and I called and left a message several times until Monday. Xavior left a message on my machine while I was out Monday and said they would come Tuesday. I called back and left a message that we would be out all day Tuesday so don't come that day. Just as we were leaving our house Tuesday someone showed up. I had a doctors appointment so I couldn't wait for even a few minutes. After that I never heard from Xavior again. I called many times. We couldn't wait any longer and had to hire a plumber to fix the leak. The toilet had not been bolted down correctly and this caused a leak. After Tuesday I was completely ignored. We had to pay the plumber to fix the problem. I would not trust this company again. I tried to get someone else from the company to help but there was no information to get in touch with anybody else. read more

I am not questioning the work this company does, however; the honesty is very questionable.. I was quoted an amount to install my appliance and before the job was completed the owner wanted his technician to have me pay almost the double amount. I paid the requested amount in good faith, I requested a written confirmation of the charges, I found bogus fraudulent charges of work never done. After calling the owner Mr. Xavier Markus several times he came to my house to check it out himself and assured me to reimburse me the 1000.00 dollars I was overcharged. After. several phone calls and several weeks of stalling and excuses during every call with Mr Marcus, he made it clear that he would not give me back the money he overcharged me. He lied and cheated me out of the refund. Unfortunately I must say that this Compny is unquestionably dishonest and it was recommended to me by Home Depot employees so I trusted. We needed a wall oven replaced. We bought a new one at Home Depot, they recommended an installer, and Marcus Construction responded immediately. They came out the next day, took out the old unit, put in the new oven, and cleaned up after themselves. They were friendly (charming, even), professional, and efficient.
