I really hate being this guy. Reviews can be so detrimental to a business but I can't let the stand. I just paid $24.50 plus tip for a large roast beef sandwich. I asked for lettuce, tomato, onions, mayonnaise, American cheese. The roast beef wasn't even rare. I got my sandwich and it's packed with lettuce. There no onions on it at all, normal amount of tomato, hardly any cheese and literally maybe four slices of roast beef. It just taste like mayonnaise and bread. Nothing else. That's how little meat and cheese is in this thing. This is a 2 foot long sandwich. It's supposed to be my lunch and dinner. I cannot justify spending over $26 including tip for the sandwich they gave me. It's an absolute rip off and I'm very angry. When this place opened up it was outstanding and now it's an absolute shell of its former self. You look at the picture and you tell me if you're willing to spend $26 on a sandwich that looks like this. I WILL NEVER EVER EAT HERE AGAIN. Order for yourself and see. It's a blatant rip off. To Marco's you need to get your act straight. The Covid train isn't running anymore. Stop running your business like it is. I know everything is very expensive right now but this is ridiculous. No excuse can justify the sandwich I was given today other than extreme profit. You're ripping off the hands that feed you. UPDATE: second half of sub for dinner. Exactly what I expected but with a twist, this side has a tiny bit of onion in it. I have to say one good thing about this place. The bread is great. Worthy of the one star I was forced to give it. One day my husband came home with a half eaten sub from Marcos and offered it to me, Italian? Really? ( I HATE ITALIAN SUBS! ) I humored him and took a bite, OMG easily killed the rest of his sandwich and now stalk them and always order the same!!! An Italian sub! So if you think that you can't get a good sandwich inside of a gas station, that is because you haven't been to Marco's yet! I didn't have high expectations going in, but was very pleased with the menu selection. For good comparison, I had to go with their Italian sandwich. Our sandwiches were made promptly, killer service, and came out fresh and amazing! The bread was like eating a cloud, the meats and toppings were absolutely delicious. I would go as far as saying that this may have been the best Italian in Rhode Island! So don't let the gas station appearance fool you, get in to Marco's and be prepared to be blown away! read more

I wanted to like Marco's. I'd heard so many good things and it was in my way home. Got a Chourico and pepper grinder and an Italian to share. The Chourico and pepper was dry. No sauce. From reading the other reviews I'm thinking I had to order it. I ordered online too, hoping for no room for error. So anyway the Chourico one sucked. We tried the Italian next and it was okay but again dry. Maybe it was the bread. I may give them one more try. I'd like to try the thanksgiving one. I'm not thrilled with it being in a gas station although it was convenient, their area was clean, everything was ready when I got there. Employees were borderline rude but really just sullen teenagers. I'll update if visit 2 is better. Otherwise, try elsewhere read more

I've been to this location several times but never have I had this happen. I order the Chloe and asked for it to be grilled or pressed to get crispy on the wrap. He tells me the total and says that's without tip pretty bold. I did give a tip and a pretty good one for a $9.00 wrap. When I opened it up this is what I got. The best place to get a sub on the island! We've gotten sandwiches there a number of times & every time the sub is packed full of meat (or tuna/chicken salad), the bread is very fresh, and the service is friendly! So far, we've gotten the Italian sub (yes, you have to be specific when ordering, which is fine with me), the tuna (my 3 year old niece and 18 month old nephew LOVE it), chicken salad (my mom liked it), the corned beef, meatball, and their pastrami...and they were ALL delicious! The subs are perfect a quick dinner for a family gathering...the large sub can feed between 2-3 people! In-laws coming over? Pick up a large sub (or 2) and you're all set! Hosting a party? Look, I hope to change this review but currently this is the situation. For some insane reason - Marcuccis and Marzillis in Fall River also do this - when you order a hit grinder w cheese, when they wrap the sandwich they put a piece of paper over the top before they wrap in foil... the melted cheese gets stuck to the paper and when you pull the paper off the cheese comes with it. I've never understood this tactic. And forget it if you put it in the refrigerator to save. The cheese and paper solidify into a block that's almost impossible to fully remove. read more

And you can't have an exceptional submarine sandwich without ridiculously good, freshly baked bread. Well my friends, Marco's has ridiculously good, freshly baked bread. Their stick bread separates them from any other sub shop I have ever been to. It's incredible. Now Dan Marino was a great QB but the Dolphins kinda stunk.... Marco's knows better. They accent their delicious bread with only the tastiest and freshest ingredients. The steak and onion is to die for. Perfect amount of grease to keep you coming back for more. The combo showcases delicious meatballs and italian sausages kissed by marinara sauce that might as well come from nonna's kitchen. It is blanketed with cheese and toasted to perfection. Bottom line: the subs here are great. The service is fantastic. We even bumped into Marco himself and might I add, not bad on the eyes! I've been here maybe ten times, each time there are different kids working there. Yesterday I felt like a sub, so I went in, ordered my sandwich and waited. I observed the kid at the register wearing plastic gloves, handling money, wiping his nose, etc. there was a lull at the register, so he decided that he would handle some bread. Never took his gloves off, or even attempted to change them. I spoke up about it, and all three boys looked at me like I was crazy. God only knows how many subs he handled before I spoke up. I don't think that these kids are being trained by anyone in proper food handling and because of that? I will never go there again. Ten dollars for a medium sub--germs are free! I purchased a pastrami & cheese sub and when I got back the office there was pickles, lettuce, onions hot peppers in the sub. The last time I ordered from them I ordered a roast beef & cheese.
