Very good authentic Italian. Our hostess was I believe the mom or a close relation to the owners-she had true Italian attitude! Started with the carpaccio-delicious. Liked that it was served on a bed of arugula. I had the sea bass with the broccoli rabe. Excellent. I was asked if I wanted it filleted, and I accepted-less work for me! Shares the crepe with Nutella and strawberries and bananas with an espresso. So good. Looking forward to returning and glad it's a short drive away. read more

I've been here a few times and it's always been excellent. However about 2 weeks ago I stopped in and all the draft beer was out in the beer taps were covered. Wanting a beer I left and went to the other restaurant in Middleton under the same ownership..... They were also out of draft beer and all the taps were covered. Food was great but unfortunately on 2 separate nights 2 people vomited all night after eating the lobster Ravioli. Tried calling the resultant and speaking to the manager to tell him he needed to throw out all ingredients as it could be making people sick for multiple days but he said they should go to the hospital and get tested because it was not their food that made them sick... I tried Marcos for the first time that past week and I must say that I had a great experience. Employees were all friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was nice. I opted for the lobster raviolis and I was not disappointed, the meal was rich and delicious. Marco's has some of the best Italian food that I have ever had! I used to work at one of the hotels near Marco's, and would order dinner from here frequently. (They deliver to the hotels nearby, since they share a parking lot, but I don't think they deliver any farther than that) My absolute favorite thing to get is the gnocchi al pesto, but everything I tried here has been delicious and everything is extremely fresh! Might I include that the owner, Marco Stefanelli, is such a genuine person: Most of the time he would deliver the food himself, and was so kind. I hope to be able to eat AT the restaurant sometime I'm in the area for the full experience, because my only memories of this amazing food was out of to-go containers, and having to eat quickly since I was working. read more

Tried Marco's in Peabody as it was on our "to go" list for quite some time. It's a rather small restaurant and almost gave me an "industrial" vibe. There were no interior ceilings as the roof braces were exposed, so it echoed quite a bit. Just your usual wood tables and chairs. The bar was pretty cool looking though. We didn't opt for appetizers, but I did get my usual Apple Martini which was very good. I went for the Chicken Milanese and hubby, you guessed it, Veal Parmesan. The bread they brought out was VERY dense, and very hard to chew for someone with less than a full set of chompers!! They brought out a tiny dish of two different oils and hummus. For me, not very exciting at all. I would have asked for butter because hubby prefers it, but the bread was way too tough, so I didn't even bother. Our dinners came. My Milanese was a huge piece of chicken with Arugula lettuce dressed in a little oil and lemon. And I mean a little. The chicken was very crispy but had nothing else going for it. It was supposed to be pan fried, but almost tasted deep fried. In any case the oil the chicken was cooked in was very clean, but that's all it tasted like...oil. Usually you rely on the dressing on the lettuce to carry onto the chicken. I asked for more dressing but it really did no good as the dressing wasn't tasty at all. All in all, I thought it was boring. I ate some of it but that was it. I make this same dish maybe twice a week in the Summer, and the lemon dressing I make, makes or breaks the dish. I am a lemon freak, and put lemon zest in my dressing along with other ingredients. My husband got a huge piece of veal covered in cheese. He wasn't sure what kind it was but said it tasted very strong. It came with a very small amount of homemade pasta. He said the sauce was OK but nothing to write home about. He said the veal was OK but tasted different than what he's used to, and almost tasted mushy. He still says Andino's In Providence Ri is the front runner for Veal Parmesan. In all defense of Marco's I do realize there are a ton of ways to prepare Italian food depending on the region in Italy. Us Americans are used to eating Italian American food. So, when we get authentic Italian food, we don't always appreciate the type of cooking. I always suggest to anyone, read the reviews and then try the restaurant yourself. You may like what others don't. I have found a ton of restaurants I really like that had mediocre reviews. You never know if you have found a gem unless you try it. read more

We recently moved and live 5 minutes from Marco's. After several months, we finally stopped in tonight to satiate a chicken parm craving, and we were thrilled we did! Service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Crisp salads, fresh cutlets, great sauce & the portions are huge. We definitely could have split this dish in hindsight, but I'm looking forward to my leftovers :) Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great. Loved the wine selection, too, and so nice to see a good Chianti by the glass on the menu. We will be back! read more

Step 1: On a dark, cool, October night... missed the turn! It's in a hotel plaza, kinda? After a "do you have reservations" to which we replied no, the waitress sighed and walked away without further acknowledging us. We instantly felt awkward and unwanted. Shortly after our arrival, a larger party with no reservations was greeted enthusiastically and seated immediately. We were eventually told "you can go sit in the back" and she pointed, rather than escorting and seating us. Service was slow to start, waitress was very blunt, nonresponsive and walked away before the whole table could order their appetizers. After she was called back to complete the appetizer order... the remaining appetizer was sat on the edge of the table with no greeting or asking who ordered it to place it with them. Food was very inconsistent. Some dishes sauce tasted like straight EVOO. The meatballs were flavorless. The lasagne portion was small. The pizza was soggy, sitting in a puddle of liquid. The creme brulee was curdled and barely bruleed. Arancini were cold. The seafood dish and spaghetti were good. Other tables were offered grated cheese and our table was not offered cheese at any point. Shortly after our arrival, a larger party with no reservations was greeted enthusiastically and seated immediately. We could see that she was polite and attentive to other tables, but had a completely different attitude with us. The meat and potatoes - the waitress did not ask how checks were to be done. We did inform her that our checks would be split prior to ringing us up. She did not check up on us through our meal. Had to ask for ice twice. She brought us 1 check. When we asked for it to be split again, the wait staff stated the system would not allow this. Automatic 20% gratuity is added for "tables over 5" per the waitress... we were a table of five, not over 5, and when we informed her of that, she said "exactly". She then got the manager. Initially the manager was cold and uncaring. We asked her the reason for the 20% gratuity to which she replied that it's for the month of October because they get a lot of tourists who don't tip. We informed her we did not want to tip 20% due to the poor service to which she was agreeable to. Also, magically, the manager was able to split the check in their system! We also noticed that the other tables leftovers were packed up for them, but our table just had the boxes dropped and left. Overall would not recommend and will not return. If you are like us and did not read the reviews before going here, I'm sure you're writing your poor review now :) If you want a better experience just go to sonic right beside it. read more

Soooo incredibly good! Best Authentic Italian food on the North Shore. Aronccini was delicious. Pretty sure the peas inside were fresh...they had crunch to them. Chicken parm was a massive size, hung off the plate. Homemade pasta....enough said Spaghetti Carbonara had lots of bacon, lots of flavor. Gnocci's were made and cooked to perfection. Pesto sauce was a bit of overkill. Next time, I will request a red sauce. Planned on trying the homemade desserts but was way too full. Small, quaint restaurant. We came here during a blizzard in January. We were in Boston for the weekend and decided it was far too dangerous to try and drive back to Maine that night. We stayed at a hotel in Peabody MA and Marco's was in front of our hotel. I looked on yelp and open table and was surprised by the great reviews this place got given that it was in a strip mall on rt 1 in Peabody. Well was pleasantly surprised. We didn't order an appetizer as we'd been to the Top of the Hub hours earlier and had drinks and a snack there. We both ordered a cocktail and I ordered a margarita pizza and my husband got carbonara. Our entrees came out shortly after our drinks. Both dishes were absolutely fabulous. The best part was we waddled back to our room and settled into bed in a blizzard. read more

I was highly recommended to go to this place. I've never been. Sadly I will not be back. The food was not the worst but certainly wasn't something I would crave or want again. Maybe the pizza would be better. I guess the only thing that bothered me was the staff. I understand everyone has been couped up in their houses and everyone wants to let loose but I don't particularly find it professional when the staff, including manager (maybe owner?) flirting with girls at the bar, having shots with them. Our dinner at Marco's was fantastic! We are from out of town, and it was near our hotel. It is a lovely, intimate Italian restaurant with excellent entrees. Our party of 5 tried the tortellini, spaghetti, veal, and chicken parmigiana. All were delicious, and portion sizes were plentiful.The pasta that came with my veal tasted like it was freshly made. They also served pizzas and many other kinds of pasta. I would love to come back and try some more of their food. read more

Do not go if you're a young adult. I went for a table of 2 and was seated, a few other people was seated after me. Everyone got water and bread before me and when I got my bread it was burnt. Then waited a long time until our waitress took our order and was rude and not helpful when I asked questions about items on the menu. Got 2 entrees 1 drink, one margarita pizza one chicken Parmesan and one coke, the coke was half full in a cup of ice, was given a burnt cheese pizza and a dry burnt chicken cutlet. At the end I asked for the bill a the waitress put a %20 tip on the bill and I didn't know if it was a mandatory tip so I paid the bill an left, called a couple of my buddies that recommended me there and they said they were never charged for a tip on their bill. So I called an asked for the manager an the waitress that served me answered an said it was mandatory for Massachusetts an I confronted her an then she said they add a forced tip to the bill if the party looks like they can't afford the place. Outstanding service and the food slapped!! Date night with wifey and this was the perfect spot! Great lighting and ambitious we were tucked back in the restaurant and enjoyed quiet conversation and amazingly good food. We started out with a calamari app, tender and flavorful. My wife ordered the chicken parm, for dinner the entire plate was covered with two massive breaded cutlets as well as a large portion of pasta, rigatoni was her choice I do believe. I had the veal masala and it was so tender and delicious, I could have licked the plate clean if it weren't for fear that my wife would lose it and common sense telling me "unacceptable" ( You can hear it too)! Totally disappointed we didn't have room for dessert however, next date night will include Marco's and dessert! Job well done by the entire staff, Salute!! read more

Not only is the location convenient to my hotel, but the food and service is phenomenal. I was here on business and chose to eat here the first of two nights in town. To start, I ordered a dirty martini and asked if they had blue cheese stuffed olives. My waiter , Marcel said "No, but I will make some for you". He had me right there. The Martini was amazing as was the food to follow. They bring you sliced focaccia with a trio of hummus with a roasted garlic clove, oil with a dollop of balsamic, and just plain olive oil. The size of the bread and accompanying trio is just small enough to not ruin your appetite for the entree. Had the Veal Marsala......so so good with homemade fusilli. So fast forward to night two. Attempted to try a different place (Toscano's) a couple of miles away only to be told it was a 45 min wait. (For one?) Thanks COVID. So I headed back to Marco's and was not disappointed! I was very excited to see that the restaurant next to my hotel had 5 star ratings from 12 reviews. My experience was not sit in, as I got it delivered, but it was still not as good as I expected. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana which came with a weird smelling red sauce, thick pasta, and the chicken was made weird and smelled like seafood had gotten mixed in. There was a huge amount of chicken and not too much pasta. I also ordered the nutella, strawberry, banana crepe as dessert and it was amazing. My friend ordered lobster ravioli which was a very small portion and didn't come with any sides. I'll try it again, but I would not recommend those two dishes. read more

Horrible, dry and cold. I am staying at the hotel adjacent to Marco's. I ordered pollo alla parmigiana for take out and they said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I showed up in 17 minutes and my meal was already bagged and ready to go. $30 plus tip. Pollo alla parmigiana? Not even chicken parm. Very little spaghetti and less sauce. Billed as pan fried but neither crispy nor warm. How can they pan fry it and get it cold and mushy before I am supposed to pick it up? I think they unloaded last week's leftovers on me. Sonic is the next closest place to the Marriott Springhill Suites in P-Buddy. Roll the dice and try it before Marco's. read more

Best Italian food I've had in a long long time. Started with the arancini and it was delicious. I ordered the chicken parm for my meal and it was the most MASSIVE delicious pieces of crispy thin chicken I've ever had in a chicken parm. My boyfriend had the veal parm and it was equally as large and crispy. Both came with homemade fussili which was delicious but didn't come with much of it. We definitely didn't need more food but the pasta to chicken ration was a little off. Still hard to complain because the chicken was THAT GOOD. Then we got cannolis for dessert and they were the most fresh and crunchy shells we've ever had at a restaurant. It came on a beautifully decorated plate with fresh fruit and powdered sugar. We literally couldn't think of one bad thing to say about any of the food we had! The server was pretty attentive he was a little cold, very to the point and not extremely friendly but he got the job done and I'll still come back! read more

Tried this place last week as the hotel is right behind it. Got carpaccio as an appetitizer and veal parmigiano. The carpaccio was okay (probably because they didn't have to prepare the meat). The best thing was the pasta side in sauce and the dipping condiments for the bread. The veal and bread coating had no flavor. I figured I'd give them a second chance and went back tonight. Bread and condiments were good, but I had to ask for them. I went with the spaghetti and meatballs. Oh my. The spaghetti was a bit al dente for me and way too much sauce. The meatballs had the texture of a blown up spaghettios meatball and really had no meat flavor. I was asked "if everything was okay" and when I said it was just okay, I got the cold shoulder treatment from my hostess. I'll be here for a couple more weeks, but I'll be venturing out for something better. read more

Loved the food and cocktails, hated the service. Waiter forgot to put in the appetizer, didn't tell us the specials and stepped on my dates foot. When I asked to speak to a manger at the end of the dinner, the same waiter who provided the horrible service walked up and asked how she could help. I proceeded to tell her what went wrong that evening and her response was "I didn't ask her for the specials" (I've never had to ask for specials). She claims to have apologized for stepping on his foot but none of us heard said apology. This service ruined the experience me. I won't be back. read more

I really hesitate to write this review, but feel it is warranted. My husband and I live in the area and have been to this restaurant many times. We have always had a fantastic meal...until last night. While our meal started of great with a wonderful salad, it went down hill from there. I ordered my usual chicken parm and my Husband ordered the fusilli, chicken and broccoli. The chicken parm is usually off the charts! Pounded down nice and thin with plenty of cheese. Not last night! It looked like someone's leftovers. It was thick, dry and burnt. Not even edible. I couldn't even eat it and took the entire meal home to give to my Mom's dog. My husband's meal consisted of fusilli, chicken and broccoli in a white wine cream sauce. The Fusilli, broccoli and sauce was outstanding. However, the chicken seemed like it was boiled. It was big huge chunks that were so tough, you could not even cut it with a knife, let alone eat it! We brought the chicken home for the dog as well. When we got home, we realized it was not even dog worthy, so it all went in the trash. It was a pretty expensive meal for what we got and we were very disappointed. While this is out of character for this restaurant, we will not be returning. I will note that our server was very pleasant and attentive. We still tipped her well, after all she did not prepare our food. I agree with the reviewer that noted that the place has gone way down. You my ask yourself why we didn't complain....that is not how we roll as we have children in the restaurant business. But, I will share my experience with all of my family and friends (and anyone else who asks) as we usually highly recommend this place. Please also note that I did call the restaurant today to let the owner Marco know about our experience. He was not in and apparently was not in last night either.
