If I went to primary school at North Epping Public I would have been one fat kid. Just down a short lane way behind the school is Marco's Bakery and a newsagent with all your favourite paper bag lollies - this is where my pocket money would have gone.
Marco's is a small family run bakery on a small strip of shops in sleepy North Epping making all the family favourites (and sticking Home Icecream - boo yah!). I've only ever been on weekends but even then it's busy with families and Lycra-clad bike riders getting their morning caffeine hit, catching up over pies and pastries or picking up bread rolls and a litre of milk.
The finger buns and bacon and cheese rolls taste just like you remember from childhood and leave more change in your pocket than Bakers Delight. These guys only make small quantities to prevent wastage - some things like the brioche questionably named 'Jewish plait' they only make one of each day - so get in early if you don't want to miss out. read more
