I was referred to this business by Bidwell Automotive in Folsom; another commendable company. My request was to quieten down my son's Ford Focus ST. It has a large bore system and just too boomy. Orangevale Marco is the place to go. While writing the service order at the counter just a glance up and Travis correctly identified my 72-year old Jalopy as a Nash Ambassador. Only question was which model, a Custom, or Super? Amazing.

This has been the best servicing experience I've had within the mechanical market. Travis and crew are amazing in understanding your requests, your car, and, ensuring you feel welcomed as a guest! Great service, great price, and speedy work. I came in because I had someone try to steal my catalytic converter. I had these guys pull off everything, weld up all the holes; and put it back on. Worked out great and now my car does not sound like a go-cart anymore. read more

Called on Monday, in Tuesday at 9AM. Travis was great at scheduling my appointment to have my Banks Monster Exhaust installed on my 2012 F150. Raym0nd who did the install did a awesome job. I've taken 2 of my cars here to get muffler/resonator deletes. They do an amazing job! They're quick, thorough, and honest. I bought my CTS-V with a terrible muffler delete that the previous owner had done, and Marco was able to fix the exhaust leaks, rebend new piping, as well as put new hangers in, all for a great price. They're also very knowledgeable about cars, so it's fun to chit-chat while I wait! read more

2 stars for good service and nice guys. However, for such a highly rated shop that supposedly does custom exhausts, I'd expected more from their work. Went in to have a section of my intermediate pipe removed (resonator and flapper) and replaced with same diameter pipe (2.75"). They removed the pipe section and replaced with a smaller diameter pipe section. WHY? Pipe now goes from 2.75 to 2.5 (or is it 2.25) back up to 2.75. Definitely did a hack job on my exhaust. read more

The guys here are friendly, seem to know their stuff, and seem to be honest. I was quoted for some work at another shop and something felt off there. The other shop quoted me around $1000 for that work. Here, I was only quoted a couple hundred and it felt like they were being being totally upfront about everything. I would definitely recommend these guys. read more

1983 F250 Failed Smog before I went to Marco Initial numbers (25MPH): HC: 118 - fail CO: 0.75 - marginal NO: 97 - OK Marco muffler replaced my cat and muffler, gave 2.5" pipe & tip. Truck sounds great, feels a bit more peppy. And then took it to re-smog: Final numbers (25MPH): HC: 5 - PASS CO: 0.03 - PASS NO: 45 - PASS 15MPH results are similarly improved. And this is with a stock 2 BBL carbureted setup! Thanks, Marco! You've made my day! read more

Great group of people. From Travis, Tommy and Mark. I didn't get the other names of the guys but all of them were so kind and approachable. My son had a muffler delete performed on his 2008 Mazda 3 Hatch. Tommy did an awesome job and was very meticulous with his welds and centering of the exhaust tip. He asked my son's opinion many times and that was greatly appreciated. The sound is more aggressive but not too loud. Keep in mind, a delete has different sounds for different vehicles. I would come back here to the Orangevale store again...for sure. read more

Maarco is the best! I have an old English sports car. Went in with what I thought was a minor problem and, actually, it was. They had me on my way in about a half hour. I was ready to make an appointment but once they saw the problem they squeezed me right in. Car sounds great now! I had a previous encounter with Maarco a couple years ago and, again, service and price were great. Had to replace the cat then. read more

By far the best option whether it be a factory style aftermarket replacement or if you're doing performance typically the reason I'm coming in. Mark and Travis are both great personality with even better prices especially for the quality of product you end up with. Marco Muffler on Greenback Lane, Orangevale is THE Muffler place to go!!! They are very personable but yet professionals AND indeed very helpful!! Furthermore, they are NOT ripping off their customers like some of the other muffler places in Folsom- who charges you just to inspect your car!!! We took our car in today to Marco Muffler look @ the muffler problem, and they honestly informed us that it was NOT our muffler problem, AND we were NOT charged a dime!!! We recently had the catalytic converters stolen off our car and our insurance sent us here. They were AWESOME! We dropped the car off in the morning, had a quote by lunch time and picked up the keys by 4:30, same day. They did a great job of keeping us updated and were very nice in doing so and the car sounds prefect. I would 100% recommend them to all friends and family. I just recently had Marco Muffler install a set of Super 40 Flow-Master Mufflers on my 1967 GT500 Mustang. Wow, what a difference a new exhaust system does for a car, especially a classic "Muscle" car. I'm very cautious when making any changes or doing upgrades on my pride and joy. When I visited the store, I was met by both Megan and Matt. I had a few questions and concerns as to which muffler to install and they were both very helpful in explaining the various types of mufflers and brands. When looking for new mufflers it can be very confusing especially hearing the various sounds for all the different makes and models. As I mentioned, I settled on the Flow-Master Super 40's. The workmanship was awesome, Matt did a great job modifying, rewelding and installing the new mufflers. This guy really enjoys his work and his workmanship shows! I can't be more please with the look and sound that my exhaust system now has. I love the rumble and feel when I step on the pedal! I would highly recommend "Marco" when it's time to install a new exhaust system, these guy's are the one's to talk too. Very poor customer service. I called Friday mid-morning to ask if they had a specific muffler in stock, which they said yes they do. I asked if they could hold it for me until the afternoon and he said sure no problem. When I showed up there around 3:30 p.m. they had just finished installing the muffler they were supposed to hold for me on some one else's Tahoe. Talked to the manager/owner not sure and he told me to drop it off the next morning and he would give me a deal on labor to install my exhaust. When I showed up he wouldn't even come talk to me, he let another young man help me. He gave me totally different price quotes for the labor and the muffler. Needless to say I was very frustrated and decided to leave. Quoted me over$135 for a muffler you can get online everywhere for about $87. I decided to go there because of the name of course, but won't ever go back. read more

I was referred to the Orangevale Marco Muffler by Kristine and Bruce at Otis Automotive. On that alone, I knew my car would be in good hands. Explained to Megan that the left tailpipe hanger had snapped. She apologized for not being able to get my car taken care of immediately(wow! That's awesome customer service!!!!), and asked if I could bring it back in an hour. Yes, yes I can, Megan! Brought it back, in it went and up it went. All better! Clean shop, great people who are professional and competent. Definitely recommend Marco Muffler! read more

If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

I contacted 916 Auto after doing a 2 and half week research (which included Yelp and Google…read moreReviews) to have my 2004 Mazda 3 AC Condenser (Factory OEM) replaced. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

The labor is $215 an hour and on top of that, they marked up basic parts by 100% to nearly 400% over standard retail prices. Here is exactly what I was charged compared to what these parts sell for at AutoZone or Toyota directly: · Spark Plugs (Denso, 4 plugs): Charged $77.97 each. Retail is about $16. That is a 387% markup. · Drive Belt: Charged $156.49. Retail is about $35. That is a 347% markup. · Purge Valve (aftermarket): Charged $224.90. Comparable retail is about $100. That is a 125% markup. · Fuel Cap: Charged $57.46. Toyota OEM retail is about $28. That is a 105% markup. · Throttle Cleaner: Charged $45.70. Retail is about $12. That is a 281% markup. Obviously, it was my bad that I trusted this place to have fair pricing and didn't do this research prior to paying/agreeing to service. I won't make that mistake again. I did bring it up with the service manager and he offered me a $200 credit for future service. That's not something I'm interested in. If you're looking for affordable prices, this is not the place.

They did good work getting me stopping again, and their assessment of the other deferred repairs the truck needs was thorough and informative. But two major issues bring this down. The Communication Problem Chris from the service desk kept saying he'd call or email me with updates -- and then... nothing. Left me hanging more than once. I shouldn't have to chase down answers about my own vehicle. That's basic customer service. The Pricing This is where I have real concerns. I had my regular mechanic look at the same itemized report. AAA Citrus Heights Auto Repair Center charged 66% more than my trusted guy for the same work. Here's the thing -- my truck wasn't drivable. The brakes failing made it unsafe. When a customer is in that position, they don't have much leverage to shop around. That puts us in a vulnerable spot, and the pricing feels predatory as a result. The One Bright Spot They did honor my Veterans discount -- 10% off a roughly $1,500 bill. I appreciate that, and the staff who applied it were professional. Bottom Line The actual repair work was good. The assessment was thorough. But the communication failures and what feels like opportunistic pricing mean I won't be going back -- and I can't in good conscience recommend them without caveats.

This review/testimony is not related to service done by Marco Muffler, it is however about the lack of integrity in my opinion of the owner Mark Fereira. I purchased a truck from Mr. Fereira in the middle of July, 2015. I use to be a mechanic but have back issues that prevent me from crawling under, and around a vehicle without pain. I asked Mr. Fereira if there was anything wrong mechanically with the truck, and what repairs or service might I have to do to it. He told me there was nothing needing attention, and all I would have to do is put gas in it. That was not true... turns out the timing chain/gears, and guide were shot, so too was the front end. The guide had literally disintegrated with only the bolts that hold it in remaining, the rest is probably in the oil pan. The reason I did not notice this upon first starting the engine up is because it was not "just started up" I suspect. The tensioner works off of oil pressure, it's a simple plunger that pushes towards the chain to take up slack. Once extended, it could "mask" a sloppy loose chain for one to several hours, but eventually the oil will bleed out of the plunger, and it will recede. That is why the loud rattling sound of a loose chain slapping against the cover is usually heard first thing in the morning when being started after sitting all night. Prior to inspecting the truck, I called Mark and told him I was about 20 minutes away and see him then. I can't prove it, but I suspect he told one of his employees to go out and start up the truck to make sure the plunger was fully extended. I suspected something wrong with the front end upon inspecting the wheels, and during the road test which was only around Orangevale and I was not able to go more than 40 mph. Loose front end parts are more noticeable at freeway speeds. Mark said all it needed was a alignment, and that the front end was in good shape, that too was a lie! After I bought the truck and began to notice these problems, I took the valve cover off and was shocked to see that the chain was so loose and had been for so long that it cut a groove approx. 2 mm to 4 mm deep, and several inches long into the side case/housing. This is evidence of a chronic condition. The truck swayed dramatically side to side while driving on the freeway, so much so that it was difficult to keep it in my lane and I appeared like I was driving while intoxicated. I felt too unsafe to drive the truck on the freeway since. I took the truck to a very reputable repair station for a second opinion, and even though the owner tired to be diplomatic, he told me he found it very hard to believe the prior owner did not know of these conditions. Now for the fun part; Mark's response to this "new" information. First he denied that he knew any of this, then after pressing the issue and asking him to be straight with me, he finally came out and said, " Ya, I knew, but you bought a used vehicle, and there's nothing you can do about it". I told him I thought he was a gentleman and I trusted him, his response was, "Well that was your mistake". He's right there, question is, do you want to make a mistake? If that's how he conducts his personal sales dealings, how does he conduct his customer dealings? Can you trust this man? read more
