I have never been able to pass through Savannah without stopping here. This place is hands down my favorite macaron shop I've ever been too. The shop is small and quaint. There is usually someone visible in the back room, hand filling trays upon trays of macarons. I love macarons with tart filling, and the raspberry is my favorite. Cappuccino is also heavenly for those who are more chocolate inclined. Although I can say with confidence there is not a single flavor I've tried here that I haven't enjoyed. They are consistent all around with size, balance of texture and filling, and overall quality. I made the mistake of trying another macaron shop down the street and was unsurprisingly disappointed. However; the two employees that were present today (2 young ladies) could use better training on customer service, as their demeanors were not quite pleasant nor welcoming. Perhaps I hold businesses to a higher standard due to being from Orlando, where hospitality is of an important compound. I would like to return for their macarons. I was astonished after reading these reviews and stopping in. See, my girlfriend and I have traveled a lot and everywhere we go we usually look for a local place making macarons. We look for three to five meals a day be it light snacks or full breakfast. But never do we miss an opportunity in a new city or port of call, to find macarons, it's just our thing! Like sitting on the floor of the candle isle and spending an hour sniffing them all- we eat a lot of macarons! This being said we rushed into this shop with a bakery in the back, the place was cute and the staff friendly. The flavors sounded great too! We dove in of course getting at least six. These were some of the worst macarons we have ever ever ever tried from this or any country, any state and any city. The cookie was hardened sugar that stuck to your teeth like bad cotton candy, the filling was like chewing on a dense caramel that had solidified over the course of a few days, this is exactly what you don't want a macaron to be. I would never go back nor recommend this place. The banana foster was different to hear but again it wasn't a good cookie. The flavor was there but the texture and sugar content was an offense to my mouth. We visited three states and five cities this trip alone and got macarons in 3 or 4 different spots. The cookies from this Savannah joint were the worst by far. Several local Savannah shops and stores carry these pieces of garbage as we explored quite a bit and stumbled upon them a few times. Please do not be fooled, this product is garbage. Perhaps being January they don't give a damn and nothing is all too fresh(?) but don't sell me them and charge an arm and a leg for hardened crap you can't call a cookie or a macaron. I am not usually a connoisseur of macarons, but I think Marche de Macarons has made me become just that. After a recommendation from our bnb host, Marche de Macarons was our first stop when arriving in Savannah for a long weekend (first stop was unplanned, but it was definitely destiny!) The shop itself is fairly ordinary, a small table in the shop houses merchandise on one wall, but the pastry case of Macarons is the focus point. There's one small table in shop as well as a handful outside (I'd recommend taking the macarons to go and enjoying them at one of the local squares). We ordered a bag of six macaroons, $1.99/piece and went with: Raspberry--second favorite *tie* great, filled with a raspberry jelly consistency with seeds. Chocolate Hazelnut--this was our least favorite, the texture of the macaron was off and tasted like it'd been sitting a while. Blackberry Lavender--good mouth feel but lacking on the flavor, good taste but would've loved that extra punch that some of the others offered. Rose Cardamom--my FAVORITE! Amazing flavor and mouth feel, so unique and delicious. Jasmine Passion Fruit--second favorite *tie*, great flavor, just wish it was a touch bolder. Cappuccino--great, I just preferred their fruitier flavors more. Highly recommend a visit to Marche de Macarons, they're perfecting the craft of macarons here and I can't wait to return! read more

I finally found a place with the perfect macaroon!! The shop is super small but super cute. I almost missed it driving through the area. When I first walked in, I was the only customer. The sales associate immediately greeted me. She was super nice and seemed quite enthusiastic. She told me a little about the company, the locations, shipping options, etc. It's super cute and colorful inside. They have a macaroon picture and macaroon shaped Christmas ornaments on the wall. They have so many flavors!! They also offer seasonal flavors, peach and orange creamsicle. I ended up getting a 6 pack, two vanilla bean, one passion fruit, one red velvet cake, and two orange creamsicle. I wish I had gotten more! They were perfect! Each one was the right consistency and flavor. And they were fresh. As I was leaving, 4 customers came in. This made it a little more difficult to maneuver around. With my milk allergy, I could only get 2 macarons out of the entire case. The rest had buttercreme. The macaron cookie was thick, light, and crunchy. Really delicious. The raspberry one doesn't have strong fillings. I couldn't eat the other macaron I ordered because the employee told me that wrong information regarding the macarons. The woman at the counter told me that there were 3 macarons with jam fillings so I ordered the raspberry and the lime, which are the ones that were supposed to have jam. The lime one didn't have jam but a creme filling. If I ate it, I would have gotten really sick. Disappointing to me because I would have chosen the other macaron with actual jam filling. read more

Cute little find as I was walking around downtown Savannah! Small store, more of a grab-n-go kind of place. There are a couple tables but not enough space for several people to hang out and enjoy the macaroons. Service: was fast and checkout was easy Macaroon options: about a dozen delicious flavors, and I would recommend the Savannah Banana it was Soooo soft and flavorful! Disclaimer: I'm not a macarons fanatic; I haven't tried many macarons; and I really don't have a good idea of what an "amazing" macaron should taste like. With that said, out of the limited number of macarons I've tried, these were definitely the best. This shop is also fully designated to macarons, hence the name, and I'm of the opinion that if you're at all into macarons, this place is a must-try. The shop is slightly inland from Bay St., but it is near a host of popular restaurants and coffee shops, so it is really easy to hit on your way walking to or from one of them. As to the macarons themselves--while they're the best I've had based on taste, moderate sweetness level, and airy texture--if they were a little less airy, it might be preferred, but I can't rightfully dock points without more experience with the pastry. Attached is a pic of the macaron case -- as you can see, there are a ton of different, unique options. I thought this was awesome. Also, upon tasting several favors, such as coffee, red velvet, and green tea, they all have very definitive tastes, which I thought was awesome because I feel that macarons (or even many other pastries) can easily fall prey to every "flavor" tasting virtually the same. That was definitely not the case here, which I thought was impressive. There is no parking lot or anything here--but if you're staying on River or Bay Street, it is an easy walk. The prices seem a little high for a single macaron--but I think its worth trying, even if you're not looking for a bag full of them. The staff were very courteous and kind. This was such a cute little shop and the macaroons were divine! This delicious eatery is right beside Broughton St, as well as a quiet park beside Congress St. The Savannah river is a few blocks over as well, so there are plenty of places to enjoy your sweets. I ordered the salted caramel, chocolate covered strawberry, Tybee turtle, coconut dark chocolate, bourbon pecan, and confetti. My personal favorite was the coconut dark chocolate, but I think the confetti was the "cutest". There are tons of flavors and a few additional seasonal flavors to choose from. You can also choose to have macaroons in a bag or box. The box is nicer (pictured), but the bag is a bit cheaper. The staff here was very nice and helpful and I definitely plan on returning the next time I'm in Savannah. These macaroons were a great gift to take back (even though a few didn't make it through the ride home haha whoops!). read more

For a place 100% dedicated to French Macarons, you have FAILED. Not the worst I've tried (hence 2stars) but to have the right consistency you cannot have macaroons as big as this place. Cream is very generic and the second you bite into the Macarons you'll know if it's real or not. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to walk by this little store and found it was open. It was on our vacation to-do list but a website had it listed as closed. Wow, wow, wow!! Hands down, the best macarons I ever had! Even better than those in Paris. We bought some to travel home as a gift, we were able to put them in a cute box that is sturdy enough to reuse again. Key like pie was perfect. Out of all the flavors, the s'mores was given the lowest rating by my daughter, 9.5 out of 10. Can not recommend enough!!! My mother stopped in to purchase a few Macarons for me during her visit downtown. I've visited this locations before so I went with a fruit and a savory flavor (Key Lime and Pistachio). The employees are always pleasant and the store is always clean. All accent pieces in the store a petite and dainty to match the products they serve. When I got my bag of Macarons I was extremely excited to begin eating through the Macarons. The only suggestion I have for the company is that they should separate the Macarons with wax paper. It was difficult to figure out which flavor I was about to taste because both flavors were the same color. Other than that make sure you stop in to explore their crowd favorites and new editions, just make sure you come during a pay period because things can get pricey quickly. The store deserves an A-. The customer service is pleasant, the store is clean, and there is outside seating for the warmer weather. Pitfalls, the inside of the store is not large enough if there is a crowd and indulging in Macarons can get expensive. read more

This is our second visit to Marche and we were more pleased than the first! We had 4 different macaron flavors today including: key lime, cappuccino, dark chocolate coconut, and salted caramel. Each of them was A M A Z I N G! The key lime was perfect and slightly tangy, which we loved. The cappuccino literally tasted like a cup of coffee, perfect. The dark chocolate coconut was my personal favorite with coconut shavings in the outsides! Super delicious!! The salted caramel was amazing flavor but a bit too sweet for me. I'm a sucker for sweets, and macarons are a "semi-healthy" treat at about 70 calories each. They are typically so sweet that eating more than one is impossible, so stopping by here for a treat was a must. I had the Tybee Turtle: it has a salted caramel filling of salted caramel and pecan, dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in more pecans.  The associate had mentioned, when giving out samples that he had just taken them out of the freezer so they may be a little cold, he was right. The sample was cold but still had good flavor. Since they had been open a few hours I had assumed that the ones in the case would have softened up...they werent. The first bite was not the creamy texture that I was accustomed to. The pecans on the outside were hard and the filling was the same. For $2, I expected more and I regret not going back in to let them know. read more

My daughter is on a macaron kick. While touring Savannah, we came across this location, and she just had to try it. Store is small and is no- nonsense, straight to the point. The bakery is in the rear and is visible, and the display case is in the small lobby. Luckily this was a weekday and the store wasn't crowded. Upon our arrival, we were promptly greeted by the friendly worker who immediately stopped what she was doing in the back, and was very friendly. One of the best macarons I've ever had. I love macarons and I'm super picky about texture. I like a light crispy shell and an light center with lots of flavor. I hate when I get macarons and they are super chewy or just plain hard and stale. I had so many flavors and all of them were perfectly cooked. My favorite as always was the caramel and confetti cake but I didn't have a flavor I didn't like. The price is also amazing. 12 for $20 is some of the best pricing I've seen. If you're a macaron lover you have to try this place. We actually went out of our way to get some more before heading back home from our vacation. I'm obsessed with a good macaron, so I was so excited to get to try these on a recent trip to Savannah! For the wide variety of flavors, they are sold for an excellent price compared to other macaron shops I've been to in the past. My personal favorite flavor was the key lime! I also really loved that my variety pack came with a card showing all the different flavor offerings and what each cookie looked like, making it easy to identify which was which in my order. They were also very helpful when accommodating my friend with a hazelnut allergy, so my friend felt very at ease when making her selections. Honestly they've perfected the macaron. True French macarons must be just right - the cookie should have an eggshell-like crunch but then melt in your mouth. It must be airy, not dense. French macarons focus on technique, and often flavor originality is lacking. American macaron shops, on the other hand, tend to sacrifice good technique for creative flavors. This is the first macaron shop I've ever been to that had mastered both. Their caramel sea salt is a classic and possibly better than my favorite Parisian fleurs de sel. Their jasmine passionfruit is my favorite of their creative flavors. Do yourself a favor and make some room for these macarons. They stand apart. read more

First time I had macarons.. and... ehhh, I guess they're not my thing. The staff was a little unfriendly and not much into conversation (although we were the only ones there at the time). I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because they looked like they had a long day, but still. I explained to them that I'd never had a macaron before, and they didn't seem to care much or have any interest in "selling" me on them. I am convinced this place is going to one day have all my money. It's a really good thing their shops are a drive away from my house or I'd be there every day. I was introduced to these at an event at Anthropologie in Savannah a few weeks ago and have been making a weekly trek for a dozen ever since. These macarons are hands down the best I've ever had, domestically or abroad. They are heavenly little clouds of meringue with smooth buttercreme and other fillings. They are the perfect treats and make a great impression at dinner parties. The flavors are inventive and decadent. The caramel ones (salted caramel, snickers, Tybee turtle) are actually filled with caramel. Mexican spice (a favorite of mine) has a dulche de leche filling and jalapeno sugar on top. Bananas foster has a ooey gooey banana creme center. Other fruit flavors have jam centers. My absolute favorite though is the green tea which is filled with buttercreme and a candied ginger center. I highly recommend you try this place, which is just around the corner from Leopold's and next to the Lucas theatre. They are a bit pricey at $2 for one or $20 for a dozen, but they are just so wonderful that they are worth an occasional splurge. read more

I really love macarons and this place makes some pretty good ones! My favorites that I tried were the vanilla bean, raspberry, chocolate, and lavender blueberry. Not too crazy about the green tea or salted caramel. That being said, I marked off for a few reasons: inconsistency in freshness and service. I went two days in a row for macarons and both days I purchased a bag of six flavors, including vanilla bean each day. The first day, it was really fresh and delicious. The second day, I could tell it was left over from night before, or something. It wasn't as light and airy, but more along the lines of a little mushy and stale. As far as the service, I am on the same page with another reviewer about the guy working there. He was on his phone when I came in and barely looked up. He just wasn't friendly at all. I'm hoping he was having an off day, but regardless, great customer service is so important! A smile and, "thank you, have a great day!" go a long way. read more
