Working for a school district we have to comply with sate and local purchasing and bidding rules. Working with Gary he would easily be the low bidder beating out B&H PhotoVideo, and other discount vendors. When he couldn't he was happy to provide a quote to fulfill my 3 quote regulations. We had a few large projects where Gary arranged for instillation of complex systems. All were professional and completed in a timely manor. Rochester has a deep history in the sound industry and Gary knows it because he lived a lot of it. He stays current can help you with some of the latest digital technologies also.

As expected, they do not service my area, but Steven, the VP at Brighton Sound, was quick to respond to my inquiry and even provided me with some tips on finding the right equipment more locally to me. Honesty and helpfulness go a long way. Perhaps we'll have an opportunity to do business in the future!

A very rare photo of the "Loud Amp" manufactured by Brighton Sound. This was technology far ahead of it's time. None known to still exist.

Now there are maybe a couple left as the interest in audiophile equipment is fading. I unqualifiedly recommend working with Lance at Forefront Audio. He is more knowledgeable and helpful than the competition. Don't be fooled by the small storefront. He handles a large array of equipment and will help you find the best solution to your audio needs. Its also worth noting that his familiarity with vintage audiophile systems (like mine) is second none.

Unfortunately, over the course of one month of back-and-forth questions and answers to and from the owners and/or representatives of Vinyl Sound, this is most definitely a one-star review. Highly surprising from a hi-fi/audiophile retailer, as I've only had one other negative experience in my entire life from a different retailer. My requests were seemingly simple: 1) bearing oil for my Transrotor ZET 3.1 turntable; 2) replacement belts for the turntable, and; 3) a request regarding the possibility of making a cover for my turntable. Over a 29-day period, here is the breakdown, in number of days, of their response times to my various e-mail requests: 1, 5, 8, 0, 0, and finally, after waiting 14 days for a reply, I sent a final e-mail requesting an update but have yet to receive an answer. It's now 22 days without a reply at the time of this review. There are many other dealers to choose from. Select another that's not Vinyl Sound and likely be much more satisfied.
