The work was beautiful on the color of the case hardened work....however the receiver showed definite signs of having been sanded. Turnbull, when informed of this, explained that they chemically strip the factory blueing and case harden the parts...I would have "hoped" they would polish out the surface before the final case hardening.. I don't see this in my factory Marlin rifles. They did offer to refund my investment. If you are considering a purchase, you might want to ask about this issue.

When I returned with the paperwork from county clerk on Tuesday, 8/11/26, John, the employee behind the counter, retrieved the handgun, but claimed he didn't know about the shotgun, so a second background check was required. While the background check was running, he left to help another customer, then disappeared. Two other employees took over the transaction, but there was confusion about what steps had been completed. What should have been a simple 30 minute transaction turned into a 2+ hour wait. Very disappointed in Sportsman's Warehouse, not worth a return trip.

Been going to T&C Gun Shop in Newark for years. Took shotgun and they installed a 2 shell extension…read morewith kit that I supplied which included a new spring for the magazine that instructions stated that it would require trimming and testing to get correct tension & operation. I pointed this out when I left the shotgun. At time of pick up I asked how much of the spring needed to be trimmed. Was told by Bruce & his gunsmith both that the spring was correctly sized right out of box. Before storing in safe I tied loading the new extended magazine with the six 12 gauge dummy shells. The last 2 shells required massive force to load and came out with shell damage because of the spring tension. I called and the gunsmith stated he could only locate 4 dummy shells at that time to test with and to return for fix. There was a long delay due to illness before I called for a resolution and spoke with Bruce. He said I would have to go to the back of repair wait list and to bring the gun in. To trim & test this spring is a very quick fix and I should have had a friendly response and an apology for the oversite. Not from Bruce ! I gave him serial number, he had no record for the repair but found my gun incorrectly listed as a transfer ! He told me that for ten years he has had a quantity of dummy shells for testing. Does he think I am lying about what I was told ? Now gunsmith has moved out of state. Bruce would not commit to a no charge fix for their error ! I stayed calm as he grew impatient, rude, and condescending with me. He ended by saying "bring it in or not, I don't care and hung up on me ! His attitude and lack of any customer service sealed the deal. I will never patronize this business again and eat my losses. To bad, so sad as I always attempt to shop local. I do public presentation, volunteer, and belong to many organizations. T&C doesn't understand that a business's reputation can mean everything. Not doing right by your customers can have a very negative effect on your business.
