Decor and ambiance stays true to the historic roots and the food is handmade and wonderful. My wife had the salad and I had French onion soup with a bacon and ham sandwich. The bread that the sandwich was served on was so good. It was warm and very tasty, I was so impressed. Service was very friendly, and the fact that they had names of famous movie stars who ate there on the menu shows the popularity of this place. Great option if you are visiting the area.

Don't worry guys there is a local brewery/pup 2 min walk from Queen str. Yes there are movies done in town as well. Hallmark channel is just one. The piano cafe is a lunch only spot. Excellent menu, friendly staff and owner. You will love the ambiance from past times kept in excellent condition. A little know fact they also have hotel suites upstairs if you wish to stay overnight. If you are in town on a Friday, come for grilled cheese sandwiches (lots of different types) again only on Fridays.

Went again last night (2 couples) at the request of the other couple who live at least 30 km away. For us it's local. Here what had been consistent over the last 10 years. Never had a bad or mediocre meal. Always been excellent. Every single time. 4 different meals last night, pizza, Tuscan chicken salad, veal parm, chicken parm. All excellent. Service attentive, friendly. An almost too many daily specials. Quantity of food 3 of the 4 people required boxes to take home surplus food. This is not pub food. There are no French fries here. This is a very good place for perfectly cooked quality food. Is it pricy? Compared to pub food yes, compared to the keg, no. 4dinners, 2 table apps, non alcoholic drinks, no dessert. All in including tip just a little over $200 for 4. Ambience, a tad tight and depending on who is in the restaurant could be noisy. Very popular place for locals who want a little better place and menu items you don't normally see in a pub type restaurant. Plus real tablecloths. In the current heatwave we are having the a/c was having trouble keeping up. I'm giving this a 5 star. It has been very consistent for the 11 years I have lived in this small town. For a more relaxed experience, excellent food and relaxed semi fine dining experience go, please next time you are in this area.

Had the fig salad, which everyone seems to rave about, and yeah, it deserves the hype. Fresh, dressed properly, actually filling. The shoestring fries are a problem in the best way. I also got one of the bowls based on what the staff recommended and it was excellent, the kind of food that makes you slow down between bites. What I liked most is that you can tell someone in the kitchen actually cares. Local ingredients, seasonal stuff, and the vegan and gluten friendly options are not slapped on as an afterthought. Everything on the menu feels like it was thought about. Staff were lovely, room is bright and easy to sit in for a while, and the prices are fair. Walked out feeling good, which is rare these days. Honestly, if you live in town and have not been yet, go. Small independent spots like this are the ones worth showing up for.

I got he Buffalo cauliflower pizza, which was really good. The crust was very different from other crusts I've had; it was very fluffy and thick, and it was quite enjoyable. It's a lot for one person, so I did share half with another friend. One thing I want to note is that we waited a long time for the food to come out. When it eventually did, the server let us know the pizza was burned so they prepared another one for us. It would have been nice if they gave us a heads-up earlier, but I assume this kind of thing is a rare occurrence. The server was very friendly and did her best to make sure we were satisfied, and overall I was.
