I got my wedding nails done at Marcelina on Aug. 30 2022 and they are still holding strong with no chips or peeling 7.5 weeks later! The design came out exactly like the inspiration photo I showed and she even tried a few different colors for the base to make sure it was perfect. I have very small nails even when they're grown out and she was still able to paint these tiny leaf designs PERFECTLY! A little pricey, but if it's going to last up to two months, it's absolutely worth it! Make sure to book an appointment in advance. I loved this tiny little nail salon in Old Torrance. Brought in a picture as reference but my nails turned out so much cuter than the original picture! The gelX seems durable and the attention to detail from my nail tech was awesome. I'd say it's a bit pricey but definitely worth it if you're looking for intricate designs and quality nails! read more

I've been coming here for 7 years. Great nails. It's an art form. They give you all the time you need and do nails you can't find anywhere else. They can literally draw anything and use stones and studs that won't fall off. That's what Japanese nail art is all about. Hard gel , won't chip or peel for weeks on end. read more

Ahh it was my first time coming here and I'm obsessed! Pro tip: bring cash (it's CASH ONLY) and make your appointment before hand! I'm not sure if they even accept walk ins? There is a parking structure near by that provides 2 hour free parking. Yes it is very pricey but you definitely get what you pay for, in other words it is worth it! $45 for gel, $10 for gel removal, $4 for each finger for designs. My total was a little over $60 which was fine cause the original price I was quoted with was $80! They are super precise and are very detailed with their work! She made sure that all of my nails are even and shaped perfectly! They're also very nice and make sure you're happy with your nails. This was my first time coming here and I'm so glad I did! I've been looking for a place that does Japanese or Korean style nails for a while now and I found Marcelina through Yelp and the pictures looked like what I wanted. Mie did my nails and she was so sweet and attentive. She made sure I got exactly what I wanted and followed the reference photo I showed pretty much to a tee except for the changes I wanted. This is the place to go if you want to pay a little extra money and have your nails last forever! I got gel on my toes and fingers for my wedding, it's been 2 weeks and they still look great! Usually my gel nails chip or peel after 1 week but the hard gel they use is like magic.They are so detail oriented and can probably do any design you want. When I came in I wasn't totally sure what I wanted and I showed her some examples and it turned out perfectly. I still can't believe she did the lace design I wanted by hand, it's so perfect it looks like a sticker! Because they are so meticulous, you will be there for a while, but when you make an appointment they warn you of the approximate time. You need to make an appointment to come here! First time here! Was recommended by a good friend of mine. If you love Japanese Nail Art, they can definitely do it here! I booked with Hiromi and she did an excellent job! I showed her what I wanted and she executed very well. Also, I loved that I was sitting in a recliner chair getting my nails done that was approximately 1hr and 10 minutes (Because of the nail art on all my nails) No back pain or anything ...unlike other nail salons. I got super lucky today looking for a very last minute nail appointment. My old nail salon never returned any of my messages for an appointment so I was on a search for a new salon. I called Marcelina after finding them on yelp. She was so nice and I'm so glad she was able to get me in today. The place is a very cute, super clean and relaxing place. She did an awesome job and will be going back with my daughter and sister. Inside the location there is also a lady named Tomoko dan who does facials. The nail artists here are so good at what they do! Really detailed and put a lot of care and attention into their work. They are super gentle with your fingers and not once did I feel any pain or discomfort. Sometimes other nail salons are rushing through their work or not very attentive and can sometimes cut you but I felt very relaxed and taken care of here! read more

I've been going to Mie the owner's for more than 5 years now. (I was her client before she started her own salon). Mie is the nicest and kind spirited person ever. To top it off, her work is very good! Fair price (actually, they're on the cheaper end) for the amount of work they put into the nails. Recently she introduced me to one of her worker Hiromi for days she can't do my nails. Hiromi is just as talented! A fun personality and excels in artwork. Mie, Mie, Mie! You make strangers want to hold my hand! I've been getting my nails done by Mie for years and years and years now. By far, she is the best Japanese nail artist! She takes her time with your nails and any request is met with an ethusiastic, "OK!" I recommend looking at some of her Japanese magazines to get ideas for nail designs, or looking at her past clients' nails on her flicker account. Although I've done everything from regular manicures to acrylic, my favorite is gel. It's healthier than acrylic and it looks natural. Also, they can last for 3-4 weeks if you take good care of them. But trust me, you'll find yourself coming in sooner than 3 weeks because you can't wait to change the color and design. Another thing that I like about Mie is that her prices are fair considering the amount of work she does. I've seen other salons charge triple digits for something Mie can do. As a friendly reminder, be sure to book in advance for a nail appointment as she books fast! read more

My go-to salon in the south bay. Cannot beat their impeccable attention to details, attentiveness, and quality of service for their prices! I once had chipped one of my nails, which ended up being shorter than my other grown out ones. I went to get my nails done for the first time at Marcelina before birth to keep my mood up high. This place is so hard to get an appointment so make sure to call like a month ahead if you want to get any nail arts done but if you're just going for a simple manicure then maybe couple weeks ahead. I've had a hard time finding a good nail salon in torrance. I found Marcelina on yelp and had my nails done by Hiromi. As soon as I walked in, she sat me down in a big comfy chair and went right to work. She is very friendly, listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions. I let her do what she wanted with the art. I love the outcome, by far the best set of nails I've ever had! The artwork was flawless!! Her technics and products used were from Japan which I was very intrigued by! I will say that they are pricier then the standard vietnamese salons. I used to pay about $100 or more from other nail salon (yeah, other nail salon is totally ripped me off) with less nail decorations. Appointment time was not exactly started (about 15minutes late from my appointment), but other than that, I'm very happy. Although, I was told about $30-40 for jell nails but it ended up $60. This nail salon is a hidden gem located in the heart of Old Torrance. I was recommended by a friend to come here and get my nails done by Hiromi. I love Hiromi!! She is so sweet, fun to chat with, and is dedicated to creating flawless nail art. I have been a regular at Marcelina since my first visit in February of this year. My nailist is Hiromi. She is very sweet and pays a lot of attention to detail. I always go with a photo of a nail design and she matches it perfectly! I recieve compliments on my nails every time I go out. Besides making my nails beautiful, Hiromi has fixed rips/breaks in my nails with gel that have lasted weeks without breaking!! I am able to grow out the damage without having to cut my nails short, which I think all girls can appreciate. She also makes a real effort to keep my natural nails in good condition beneath the gel and always inspects them before starting a new design. I have broken a nail once before and I was able to have an extension sculpted on which lasted literally until my nail caught up to the others in length! I find the sculpture method much better than cheap nail tips, but unfortunately a lot of salons do not offer this option so I was pleased to find out that Marcelina could provide this service! I recommended this place to anyone and everyone! Great girls, great store, great price and most importantly, awesome work! Worth the trip!!! read more

Amazing! I will never go to another salon again. I am very picky about my nails I constantly fuss over them and typically end up redoing my nails once I get them done. Hiromi is wonderful, detail oriented, and just about the sweetest person alive. My nails have never looked this good and I have been to just about every nail salon out there. That was around the time when the nail tech walked over to me for the first time to ask if I had chosen a color, not when my feet were in the water or when I was receiving the service, as I stated. She also walked away after the initial contact and returned a couple times, throwing supplies on her cart before proceeding. Regardless of that, my Zelle payment for tip was also confirmed at 6:54pm. So I do want to acknowledge that my time there was about an hour and a half total from my arrival/ appointment time. There was also not a "light residue" of the scrub left, there was literal exfoliating pieces/ beads and cream that I was able to scrape off my leg with my fingernail. There is no need to note my preferences as I will not be going back. If I had known that later appointments were known to be thrown off schedule, I would've just showed up late so I didn't have to wait. There was no update or follow up. While I understand it is the business owners responsibility to ensure all reviews are accurate, the repeated attempt to disprove what I stated was unnecessary when the issue still stands: my appointment time was not honored, i had literal pieces of scrub and gel on my leg, and someone used a cuticle cutter to PULL pieces of my toenail off without asking me. I understand these services are a luxury; I would not come in expecting to be waited on but I do expect basic communication and respect. The service and response were both disappointing.

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I had to gp through the pictures on Facebook, yelp, and instagram to find a good one. Gel nail was what I wanted and it's pretty expensive so I did not want to waste my time and money so did plenty of research and I found MARCELINA! I called for an appointment and luckily I could get earlier time that I wanted. Make sure u make appt early because they are always booked. One time I had to wait for a whole week to get an appointment. But whenever a customer cancels they call you and let you know which earlier days and time is available. Both Mie and Chicory are the sweetest! They are so pretty like Asian doll and talk so soft and nice that you feel so comfortable during nails done. And if I don't know what to do with colors and design they recommend you to fit your style or they design for you. They use good quality gel polish that lasts good one month. I love coming here!
