Tried a new nail salon that an acquaintance recommended. Cute little shop that's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The shop looks like a former cozy home in its past life. Mie, the owner, did my nails. She's very friendly and accommodating and also very talented. I knew I wanted to have some kind of design on my nails and I told her to do whatever she wanted. I chose the color but she created the design in silver as you can see by the picture. They are a busy salon so you have to plan ahead to get your nails done. You'll be greeted by her well behaved pet Yorkie.
This place is so cute and the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. Chihito did a fantastic job on my nails and toes. I got just a basic one color this time but they can do amazing nail art here! Definitely coming back so I can get some creative, fun nails. Everything is very clean and I felt completely safe and comfortable here. (Which is saying a lot. I've been doing my own nails for years now because I've been to a few nail places with questionable sanitization practices and it freaked me out.) First off, I loved the comfy recliners and was glad it wasn't the kind with the jetted tub attached. Those can never truly be cleaned and sanitized, so I'm not a fan. They only do gel polish here and their pricing is a tad more than the typical nail salon you see on every corner. It's WELL worth the price though. The quality and care is top notch. I will absolutely be back.
I just came home from Marcelina nails and I absolutely LOVE my nails! Emi did a beautiful job - so much attention to detail and she even custom mixed the base color for me because the original color in the bottle was a tad darker than I wanted. This is my new fave spot! Plus I love that I can text to get an appointment setup - so easy!
Best nail place! Be sure to book in advance because these ladies are so busy. Akari spent so much time and efforr working with me to get the perfect design for an upcoming wedding I will be in as a brides maid. 100% will go back. thank you!!

I got my wedding nails done at Marcelina on Aug. 30 2022 and they are still holding strong with no chips or peeling 7.5 weeks later! The design came out exactly like the inspiration photo I showed and she even tried a few different colors for the base to make sure it was perfect. I have very small nails even when they're grown out and she was still able to paint these tiny leaf designs PERFECTLY! A little pricey, but if it's going to last up to two months, it's absolutely worth it! Make sure to book an appointment in advance. The salon is very cute, and pretty small, so it was a very relaxing experience.
Update: The owner contacted me yesterday told me they miss calculated the art fee , and Venmoed me $12 back for over charged .
I loved this tiny little nail salon in Old Torrance. Brought in a picture as reference but my nails turned out so much cuter than the original picture! The gelX seems durable and the attention to detail from my nail tech was awesome. I'd say it's a bit pricey but definitely worth it if you're looking for intricate designs and quality nails!
Ahh it was my first time coming here and I'm obsessed! Pro tip: bring cash (it's CASH ONLY) and make your appointment before hand! I'm not sure if they even accept walk ins? There is a parking structure near by that provides 2 hour free parking. Yes it is very pricey but you definitely get what you pay for, in other words it is worth it! $45 for gel, $10 for gel removal, $4 for each finger for designs. My total was a little over $60 which was fine cause the original price I was quoted with was $80! They are super precise and are very detailed with their work! She made sure that all of my nails are even and shaped perfectly! They're also very nice and make sure you're happy with your nails. I love it here and can't wait for my next appointment ((:

I came for the gel nail and some design on my baby birthday . It was so thick , heavy and the diamond come out 2 days. Totally I paid 76$ for the nail and 5$ more tip so totally 81$. And I have baby 2 year old now I am not working. Kind expensive but I wanna look good on my baby birthday photo.Mie the owner did my nails it was not good , during nail done she made my nails burn a lot. She said come back for fix later 2 days ago. When I come back to fix , the nail tech Amy is not happy to fix my nails and talk to me with the attitudes and rude . Amy said it will be more money for the take off the nail. Are you guy robbers??? Already 81$ and I don't like my nails then I have to pay more? What is ridiculous . ! I never come back !!!! Ps: I don't have time to go back your shop again, that's now misunderstood. Been wanting to get my nails done here and finally had a reason since I'll be going on vacation. I was able to get an appointment in the afternoon so it worked well with my work schedule. I provided a photo of the design I wanted and it came out exactly how I pictured. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Will definitely be a returning customer. read more

This is my second visit to this quaint, beautiful and clean nail salon. First and foremost the ladies here are kind and respectful. Very pleasant to work with and their nail technique is just as clean, beautiful and talented. I highly recommend this nail salon. I got super lucky today looking for a very last minute nail appointment. My old nail salon never returned any of my messages for an appointment so I was on a search for a new salon. I called Marcelina after finding them on yelp. She was so nice and I'm so glad she was able to get me in today. The place is a very cute, super clean and relaxing place. She did an awesome job and will be going back with my daughter and sister. Inside the location there is also a lady named Tomoko dan who does facials. Comfortable, high quality, and fast :) I'm a guy who doesn't really want to spend a lot of time hanging out in spas and salons, but I do enjoy the small luxury of a manicure now and then. I had a lovely and efficient one here, and topped it off with some sparkly black gel - way nicer than when I used to clumsily paint them black in my rock-n-roll days ;) Came here with a family member while visiting and would definitely go back. read more

I've been going to Mie the owner's for more than 5 years now. (I was her client before she started her own salon). Mie is the nicest and kind spirited person ever. To top it off, her work is very good! Fair price (actually, they're on the cheaper end) for the amount of work they put into the nails. Recently she introduced me to one of her worker Hiromi for days she can't do my nails. Hiromi is just as talented! A fun personality and excels in artwork. I don't think you'll be disappointed getting either person. Also, if you don't like it they're not going to give you any attitude. Just speak up and they will fix it to your liking! Mie, Mie, Mie! You make strangers want to hold my hand! I've been getting my nails done by Mie for years and years and years now. By far, she is the best Japanese nail artist! She takes her time with your nails and any request is met with an ethusiastic, "OK!" I recommend looking at some of her Japanese magazines to get ideas for nail designs, or looking at her past clients' nails on her flicker account. Although I've done everything from regular manicures to acrylic, my favorite is gel. It's healthier than acrylic and it looks natural. Also, they can last for 3-4 weeks if you take good care of them. But trust me, you'll find yourself coming in sooner than 3 weeks because you can't wait to change the color and design. Another thing that I like about Mie is that her prices are fair considering the amount of work she does. I've seen other salons charge triple digits for something Mie can do. As a friendly reminder, be sure to book in advance for a nail appointment as she books fast! read more

I worked with Hiromi and she did a beautiful job. I have a corporate job so my nails have to look polished but not playful (I wish I love all the designs and add ons!!) The salon uses a higher quality gel lacquer imported from Japan and it really makes the nails last. Officially a repeat customer. read more

My go-to salon in the south bay. Cannot beat their impeccable attention to details, attentiveness, and quality of service for their prices! They take their time to put the customer first - always, making sure every detail is exactly how you'd like even if that means starting over. My regular is Mie but Hiromi is equally as qualified! They truly give you 200% of their attention including comfort in their huge reclining chairs. All the gals working there are super sweet and have bubbly personalities =), conversing with you the entire time. I once had chipped one of my nails, which ended up being shorter than my other grown out ones. Mie friendly offered to make an extension on that nail for FREE - so thankful for her amazing skills; it turned out PERFECT! **Take a look at my Xmas nails in the photos* They have a variety of examples of their designs, magazines for inspiration, pictures, OPI colors for regular manicures/pedicures, and a number of gel colors, glitters, diamonds, and other details for extras (jewels, gems, 3D ornaments, etc.). **APPOINTMENTS ONLY** **CASH OR CHECK ONLY** (There are two banks around the corner if you do forget) Friendly parking. 2-HR FREE parking right outside. If you can't find a spot drive down Marcelina Ave (near the neighborhood church). This will be FREE parking, no restrictions. Regular Gel Nails: $40 Regular Pedicure: $30 Details (ie each finger): Anywhere from $20 (less or more, depending on the amount of detail and time the gals take). I've had a hard time finding a good nail salon in torrance. I found Marcelina on yelp and had my nails done by Hiromi. As soon as I walked in, she sat me down in a big comfy chair and went right to work. She is very friendly, listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions. I let her do what she wanted with the art. I love the outcome, by far the best set of nails I've ever had! The artwork was flawless!! Her technics and products used were from Japan which I was very intrigued by! I will say that they are pricier then the standard vietnamese salons. But I enjoyed this salon experience, And the quality is worth the price. Picture is attached! Call ahead for appts. Also parking and they surrounding neighborhood were both good. I love this place!!! The price is so right!! There's so many suggestions and samples. I used to pay about $100 or more from other nail salon (yeah, other nail salon is totally ripped me off) with less nail decorations. Appointment time was not exactly started (about 15minutes late from my appointment), but other than that, I'm very happy. Although, I was told about $30-40 for jell nails but it ended up $60. Be aware if you're trying to use credit card. They only take cash or checks. read more

I have been a regular at Marcelina since my first visit in February of this year. My nailist is Hiromi. She is very sweet and pays a lot of attention to detail. I always go with a photo of a nail design and she matches it perfectly! I recieve compliments on my nails every time I go out. Besides making my nails beautiful, Hiromi has fixed rips/breaks in my nails with gel that have lasted weeks without breaking!! I am able to grow out the damage without having to cut my nails short, which I think all girls can appreciate. She also makes a real effort to keep my natural nails in good condition beneath the gel and always inspects them before starting a new design. I have broken a nail once before and I was able to have an extension sculpted on which lasted literally until my nail caught up to the others in length! I find the sculpture method much better than cheap nail tips, but unfortunately a lot of salons do not offer this option so I was pleased to find out that Marcelina could provide this service! I recommended this place to anyone and everyone! Great girls, great store, great price and most importantly, awesome work! Worth the trip!!! read more

This nail salon is a hidden gem located in the heart of Old Torrance. I was recommended by a friend to come here and get my nails done by Hiromi. I love Hiromi!! She is so sweet, fun to chat with, and is dedicated to creating flawless nail art. Her attention to detail, creativity, and personality make my monthly nail appointment an "experience" I always look forward to. Attached is a photo of my favorite valentines nails done by Hiromi. She even thought to add a hidden Mickey in the diamond heart design when I told her I was celebrating Valentines Day at Disneyland. How thoughtful and creative! read more
